Chapter 1: First World (1) [Part 2]

The murderer is a man, and the ideal part of his body that she could attack were the neck, head, and his private thing. If she could plan meticulously, she might stood a chance to escape from him. It was a pity that the original owner lived in a relatively remote place. She needed to pass through a small alley before she could reach her home. Just imagining a weak woman passing through a deserted alley alone, the danger was unlimited.

Ji Mo was awakened from her thoughts when the voice announcing the arrival of the train to the last station rang. She quickly stood up and took her bag.

Not surprisingly enough, only a few people got off of the train. She quickly scanned her eyes on them. All of them were grown men and were dressed in casual clothes. She halted her step, and hesitated whether to follow them or not.

All of these men went out to different exits and it was obvious that they didn’t know each other.

However, she can’t follow any of them. It was unguaranteed if the murderer was one of them. Some of the men looked normal, but she couldn’t be so sure.

It was even more difficult to be sure if no one had been killed at their hands.

In the end, she still chose one of the exits to go home. It was useless to take the other exits as it would only get her further and further away from her home. There was no convenience store or any store that was still open around. Just by thinking about it, Ji Mo felt terrible.

Sure enough, it was the typical fate of a cannon fodder.

After crossing a road, Ji Mo noticed a brick lying on the ground. She hastily picked the brick up and put it into her bag. Then, as if nothing had happened, she continued to walk to the small alley.

At this moment, sounds of footsteps sounded behind her. The footsteps were deliberately slowed down, as if the owner of it didn’t want to attract her attention. Luckily for her, Ji Mo was trained due to the environment in her past life. Her ears and senses were sensitive and she could confirm that the owner of the footsteps was still a little far away from her.

But she was wearing high heels, and the ground was full of stones which should have fallen from the cars passing on the road at night. Even if she took off her shoes and ran with her life, she might not be able to outrun the man. It was still better to wait for the murderer to come and hit him first before running quickly. If he was wounded by her, he would have difficulties in chasing her.

Just after Ji Mo entered the alley with unhurried steps, the footsteps behind her quickened. She snickered, this man clearly wanted to commit crimes in an alley and it seemed that he was holding a weapon like a stick in his hand.

Sensing that the person behind her was nearing, Ji Mo tensely turned around with her heart drumming loudly. She immediately saw the man, and he was wearing a peaked hat.

The man in a peaked hat was obviously surprised when Ji Mo suddenly turned around. As a result, he was a little lost for a while.

Ji Mo suddenly thought of an idea. She let out a weird smile at the man. Under the faint light from the moon, her smile looked so sinister and evil that it stunned the man in a peaked hat.

He dazedly watched Ji Mo take out a brick from her bag and smiled at him strangely. The man in peaked hat that was holding a baseball bat shuddered and his feet involuntarily moved on their own with the intent of running.

Ji Mo could see that the man’s state of mind was in conflict.

With another plan in mind, she put the bluetooth headset from her bag to her ears, “Ju Liu, the target has appeared. I think it should be him. The target is frightened, I will catch him immediately.”

The man in peaked hat subconsciously ran away, and while doing so, he heard a male voice behind him. “Okay, I’ll be there in a moment.” This voice was downloaded by Ji Mo when she was still on the train. She just casually downloaded it, but never thought that it would become handy when dealing with the murderer.

Seeing the man running away, Ji Mo yelled: “Oh no! He’s running away. He is moving towards Exit A of the subway.” After yelling, Ji Mo pretended to take two steps, and the man in peaked hat started to run more fiercely.

Right after she turned into a corner, Ji Mo didn’t waste time any more and took off her heels before running quickly. She didn’t care if her feet were wounded by the gravel on the ground.

She will move out tomorrow!

She will call the moving company and move out of the house early in the morning.

At last, she finally arrived at the gate of her community. Ji Mo slowed down her steps. After escaping her destined death, she felt more at ease.

She felt a tingling pain in the soles of her feet. She lifted her feet, and under the light at the entrance of the community, she saw crimson blood flowing from various cuts and wounds. She must have wounded her feet while running quickly barefooted.

She remembered that there seemed to be a clinic near to the community and it still hadn’t closed yet, probably still treating some patients.

Ji Mo hurriedly limped over to the clinic. After entering, she smelled the unique smell that only belonged to hospitals.

In the waiting area of the clinic, there were two men and one woman sitting. The three of them were looking at the child lying on the hospital bed. The child’s face was flushed and one could tell at a glance that he was suffering from a high fever.

Usually, the original owner would come to this clinic to get some cold medicine. The old doctor who was also the owner of this clinic was in the same community as her and naturally knew her. Patients in this clinic called her Granny Zhou.

When she saw Ji Mo, Granny Zhou lifted her head and glanced at her, “Xiao Ji, did you just get off from work?”

“This… Granny Zhou, I scratched my foot. Can you please help me deal with it.” Ji Mo found a place to sit down by herself. While she was limping, she didn’t feel the pain. It was only now when she sat down that pain started to pour on the soles of her feet.

This body was too sensitive to pain. Just a small cut can make her feel unbearable.

She felt that there should be some pebbles stuck in her wound.

Thinking about disinfecting and cleaning up the pebbles in her wound, her mood turned unpleasant.

Just because the murderer was misogynist, she was dragged into this mess and his hate towards women made her nearly lose her life in the process. But calling the police was probably useless, as she only received a small injury on her feet and the matter against the murderer was still unclear.

She promised that after her injury was healed, she would practice and learn Kung Fu. The misogynist murderer before was still not caught. Who knows if he tries to kill her next time, will she be able to escape again? A person like her, a cannon fodder, was not safe living in this world.

“How did you get hurt? Did you fall? The soles of your feet are full of cuts. You girl, did you take off your shoes and run wildly?”

Granny Zhou stood up and looked at the cuts on her feet. She muttered, “You know you should choose shoes that fit your feet. Don’t always treat yourself badly for the sake of being beautiful. Otherwise, you will only hurt yourself. Young children these days, they just don’t care about their body.”

“It shouldn’t be because the shoes don’t fit, she doesn’t have any marks on her feet.” A clear and indifferent female voice sounded on top of her head.
