Monster Evolution

I didn't think that I would be in danger and we're still in school grounds. Someone might notice what was happening here and be curious enough to come check it out. Mark was hoping that some form miracle would occur at the moment.

"You smell like a dead person". Rose said.

"Huh?" Mark was surprised. He now know that he was discovered by Rose as he didn't know that he was emitting some kind of scent or odor from his body.

Mark concluded that Rose was also a monster but didn't know what type she was. She would have already killed him if she was a hunter. Instead, She told him about his problem and he felt grateful for it.

Rose discovered earlier that Mark was emitting spiritual energy. The spiritual energy that he didn't absorb properly from the time he eat and drank from the cauldron exposed him.

"The scent you are giving off is spiritual energy from the person you've eaten. You did not apply your physique absorbing and suppressing formula. You are like an open target for the hunters."

Physique absorbing and suppressing formula are unique cultivation techniques that suppresses absorbed spiritual energy. The body of monsters does not have proper intake from the spiritual energy from heaven and earth. Monsters constantly need to devour human flesh to fuel and replenish energy. The formula helps monsters absorb the acc.u.mulated energy to become their own. It is efficient as it would not waste spiritual energy. The body of monsters have large pores all over them and energy would leak out from them if they would not practice it.

The formula shows how to control and direct the spiritual energy inside to circulate through the blood stream entering different organs and parts of the body. Strengthening it at the same time.

Mark still didn't know all the things he needed to learn to survive out in the world. Spiritual energy emitted by a monster has a certain trait of baleful aura. Humans who cultivate spiritual energy could sense the difference. They would certainly know what was wrong and pinpoint that there was a monster nearby.

Usually, these monsters that were not afraid of hunters are those that can survive and they were among the strongest. They would usually emit their spiritual energy to attract strong humans to feed on them. It's a risky plan but yields great benefits. These monsters who lay their life on the line would be among those that are the most hunted as they are the most dangerous.

Mark was still off from being one of the strongest monster on the planet. Just yesterday, he awakened himself. It takes time to devour humans and he still can't bring himself to massacre these people. He still have a sliver of humanity left in him.

Rose was confused why this guy her classmate became a monster suddenly. She tested him earlier and gave him a lesson by emitting killing intent in the classroom and he did notice. Rose concluded that he was really a monster because he has a tiny bit of baleful aura on him. Humans who walk the devil path would usually emit their baleful aura from their c.h.e.s.t but this guy is emitting all over his body.

"Why did you not start using the formula? Didn't you know that it's very dangerous and there could be hunters in the school?" Rose asked.

Rose was staring at this idiot who was attracting too much attention. She looked cold but she had this gentle heart within her as she would not like to see a monster being hunted.

The actions that she made would be a reminder to him to be careful next time. But she did not expect that he didn't even know what the formula was.

"I awakened by accident and didn't know I was a monster. My parents were not around and they did not teach me anything." Mark replied.

Rose was surprised by his answer. His parents did not impart him the formula and he's vulnerable from attacks from the hunters maybe I should help him, she thought.

"I'm going to give you a basic physique absorbing and suppressing formula so you would not be in danger." She said thoughtfully. Rose was being kind to another monster. They may not come from the same species but humans who hunted them were not kind enough to spare them.

Rose since little could not forget what had happened to her mother. It was a long time ago and she kept the hatred and waited until she became an existence that would rival gods and demons. Only then she would take her revenge on them.

The Largest Organization to hunt monsters are the Churches of Holy Judgement. They have spearheaded since ancient times in the quest of giving punishment and death to those who eat humans. They have branches all over the world and have many network of information. Many monsters could not escape their grasps and monsters could only hide.

Rose's mother was one of the monsters that was killed by the church. Her father could only watch as they both father and daughter were powerless as they only made it out and escape. Hiding was the only thing they could do for now. Rose's father was powerful but there were still those experts that would hide and would come out from time to time.

"Such valuable thing and you are giving it to me?" Mark was grateful.

"It is only a basic absorbing and suppressing formula and it's not worth much. Almost every monster knows of it. Although, it may not be as efficient as mine when it comes to absorbing spiritual energy." Rose answered.

"I hope you would cultivate immediately after you got home as there still energy leaking from you." Rose advised.

Mark thought that Rose was not the cold girl he have always thought. In front of him, She was caring for his life. Mark was glad of what had happened today. He thought he could have died earlier but it turns out she was just teaching him a lesson.

Mark would use this as a way to get close to Rose. This may be the way to becoming friends with her and more! He liked the idea so much that he was grinning, imagining what would happen in the nearby future.

Rose walked and got close to Mark. She stared directly into his eyes and he felt dizzy for a moment. She then told him that she had passed him the basic formula. He was confused what had happened as she was only staring at him. He got dizzy for a moment and that was it.

Mark then was surprised as he was transferred with memories that contained on how to circulate and suppress spiritual energy. He can now recall on how to absorb and suppress the energy inside of him. The spiritual energy of monsters would gather at the lower energy center near the stomach. The formula teaches how to absorb it and efficiently distribute it to the body.

Mark decided to try and cultivate it. He directed the bulk of energy from his stomach and tried to circulate it around his body. His first try was hard for him but as it goes on he felt that it would not be a problem anymore. He was a natural in using the formula.

Rose was shocked from the scene. Not everybody can do what Mark did. Normally, after using the formula there would still be a little bit left of energy leak from the body of beginners but Mark did absolutely what a genius and talented person could do. There was not a trace left of spiritual energy leaking out from him.

Rose questioned inwardly what did his body made of to be actually efficient in absorbing all that leftover energy. She thought that perhaps there were little energy left that's why there was none leaking anymore.

Mark was inwardly overjoyed of the sensation after he practiced the formula. He felt that he could do anything but realized that he was still far from true power.

"I'm going home and you should take care of yourself." Rose said.

Mark was a bit sad that Rose was leaving but there were still days to come to get close to her, he thought.

Rose got down from the stairs and made her way to school gate where she would be taken home by her butler.

Mark also walked towards the gate after her. He thought while walking that he was this close to death. He should be more careful in the future. He then grinned as he had the opportunity to become friends with Rose.

Steven was waiting for him at the school gate with the car. Mark got in and Steven drove him back home.

"How was school young master?" Steven asked.

"Today was fruitful and full of surprises" Mark answered gleefully with a smile.

Steven looked at Mark with the rear mirror as he drove.
