Monster Evolution

The car arrived at the house before it was getting dark. Mark had a lot of questions he wanted to ask his parents about. He was nervous and excited at the same time. He never did get to see his parents though, where could they be? Mark thought.

Today he had gone through the feeling becoming close to death. He wanted to improve himself and eating humans was the fastest way of doing that but he was still weak at the moment. He felt like he was a newborn baby. He was scared that if he hunt humans now that he would get caught. He need those weird formulas to become stronger.

He thought about it for a while and he wanted to improve his speed. The Physique absorbing and suppressing formula can be used in many different ways. It could strengthen your legs or arms depending on where you concentrate of distributing the spiritual energy. These formulas were not as efficient in the past but many intelligent monsters have developed formulas throughout the years until they perfected it.

There were clans who passed down their unique formulas to their descendants and this formulas would be some of the best ever formulated. These clans would become a hegemon in that region.

There were many clans spread out throughout each continent. There were 6 continents that make up the planet. The largest one was Heavenly continent where the Main church of Holy Judgement reside. The second largest was where Mark lives, the Dark Rift continent. The other four are Bestial, Dry Death, Draconic, and Freezing.

Heavenly continent are where humans dominate. They have produced countless experts and have hunted down monsters in every corner where they could find. Monsters there are constantly hiding. Many monsters have abdicated and moved to the other continents in fear of the church. For those that remain there are among the strongest. There were still experts from the other continents but they could not compare with the population from Heavenly continent.

Mark lives in Dark Rift continent because there was a large Rift in the center of the continent. Legends say that monsters originated from the Rift coming from another world. As one gets close to the rift, monsters would suddenly have the urge to go inside it. Some say that it was a yearning to go the homeworld where they came from but people didn't know what exactly lies through the rift.

Bestial Continent is where many monsters live and fought each other. Clans from the different places would wage war in conflict for resources. The continent has rich in resources that would make armaments for the monster's use. This place is where no humans venture because monsters would kill each other and humans would benefit from it.

Dry Death was a wasteland of vast desert. The continent was made up of only sand where only few could survive the scorching sun. Not much of the place has been occupied by humans and monsters. There were only few cities at the edge trading with other continents for resources.

Draconic Continent is where the dragons live. The dragons that live there came in different forms and different species. Unique mighty dragons roam the skies and they are not tolerant in welcoming to outsiders.

Freezing Continent is full of ice. Blizzards and Hail constantly bombard the continent where many has difficulties living. The living conditions is extremely opposite to Dry Death. The temperature there is very low and one would freeze to death.

Mark got off from the car and headed straight for his room. Steven watched him from afar and pondered. He thought that Mark was not emanating the baleful aura as he and Mark parents did not teach him the unique formula for his physique. He wondered how did he suppress the energy that was leaking out.

Somewhere near the Rift there were two figures travelling fast as sound. There were Mark's parents. They were going near the Rift to inform someone that Mark has began he's awakening when he saw his father transforming.

Trees fluttered and swayed when the two passed. There was like a whirlwind with each step they make. They were going as fast as they can to report the matter. They did not delay the matter as it was one of the most utmost importance regarding their lives.

They were getting nearer and nearer towards their destination. It was a large castle miles away from the rift. Dead trees would be the indicator that this was the territory of someone and the castle. Inside resides one of the most strongest monster in the world that have been crowned as 'King'.

Kings were monsters that have nearly completed their evolution. They were at the apex and most of them have ruled a significant number of monsters. Their territories could range as a half-a-continent or a whole one. A continent could have 3-4 Kings living in it. They would not fight themselves as they would not benefit and others may take advantage. There were still humans who lay low waiting to strike at the right moment. Kings have made a truce and rules that lowers the conflict of their people.

Mark parent's arrived inside and they were greeted with a Goat Demon. The Demon led them to an inner chamber where a Man sat on his chair. They then reported that Mark was going through awakening.

The Man was surprised of the event. He did not expect that Mark would awaken now. There were no signs of awakening and it just suddenly happened. He thought it would at least take a hundred years for him to awaken.

He was focused on Mark and all the matters regarding to him would be reported to this man. Mark did not originated from this world. He came from the rift. When the man was standing before the rift he suddenly felt the ground was shaking and he thought that the rift was opening. After the shaking, He heard a cry coming from the bottom of the rift. He was hesitant in going down below. Many kings in the past had gone to venture into the unknown and all of them never came back from down below.

He made his two most trusted subordinates to raise Mark. He made them guard him all the time. Watching his every movements from when he was found until each every passing moment when he grew up. They did not disobey the order as they were loyal to him as they were guided by the King from the time when they were weak.

"Lord we have already prepared the requirements for his awakening to be complete. We left it down below the dungeon as he would smell the scent coming from it. I'm sure he could not resist the scent and he would be attracted to it. We made sure before we left that he would forget for the time being as to make the matter easier." Suki said. She was Mark's adoptive mother and guardian.

"Steven is currently watching him and he would report to us if there was something bad." Hugo said. He was Mark's adoptive father and he was the werewolf that Mark have seen transforming.

"Mark's identity is still unknown to us. We don't know where from the rift did he originated from and what are the reasons regarding sending him here and what his purpose here in this world. Return and deliver this scroll. This formula holds one the most sacred formulas to be ever formulated since ancient times. Do not lose it and read it. Both of your head's will roll if you will disobey my command. Now go." The man said.

Both of Mark's parent left after that they vanished before the man as if they were not even there in the first place. The man had a lot on his mind regarding about Mark. What surprises could mark bring to him. He was the one who discovered him and he was expecting something that could change this world.

Back at the house, Mark was sitting on the bed trying to cultivate energy but he did not feel himself improving like last time. He thought that he needed human flesh. Where could he find that and going out was dangerous for him. He sat there thinking where could he find something to eat. As he was thinking there was a knock on the door. [Knock][Knock] *Door being knocked SFX*

He opened it and saw Steven was holding a tray of food. The food smelled delicious but he did not think that it was human meat. The food look so good and it looked like it was plated by a chef.

He gladly took the tray and started to eat. Steven bid him farewell. As he was eating he felt that there was spiritual energy being acc.u.mulated in his stomach. He was shocked and did not think that there could be spiritual energy in this dish.

'Was this human meat?' Mark was shocked that a dish so good that looked like it was plated by a chef was human meat and it contained lots of spiritual energy.
