After a long, busy day, a most awaited coronation night happened. Each contender prepared themselves for the competition that would be taken place at exactly seven in the evening at the campus.

To ensure the students' safety, every student who was still minors needed to bring their identification card and a waiver with their parents' consent.

The school personnel helped the event organizers. They festooned, embellished the wide covered hall with different colorful curtains.

The stage glowed in the dark, covered with resin, and polished smoothly for all of the candidates. Every corner of the campus was guarded by student leaders, volunteers, and professional guards.

Everyone shall be at home safe and sound before midnight. At the entrance, the guards checked strictly the students' papers and identification cards..

Almost half of an hour, thousands of supporters, students, parents, and outsiders arrived at the campus two hours before the grand night.

Despite the cold weather, they went to support their favorite candidate to win for the year's crown and prestigious title.

Banners, confetti, hats with the face of each candidate, and other forms of promotion and publicity. It was needed for the friendly, popularity, and photogenic of the year award among the rest.

Before the competition began, the school's principal walked to the stage for further announcements, rules, and regulations inside of the school premises.

Everyone turned their head, waited for before the real battle was inaugurated.

"To all students, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, outsiders, and most especially to all parents who set aside the other things to witness, extend your support to your daughters and sons. Good evening, everyone!"

"Any moment from now, the search for Mr. and Mrs. La Milanosa of the year will be officially opened. Before anything else, I am here in front of thousands of supporters asking for your cooperation, understanding, and respect."

"All the regulations that were written at the back of your tickets shall be implemented, followed, and commemorated...," She paused.

Parents, listened attentively to the school's principal while a few of the students kept talking with their seatmates.

Mrs. Lee looked around the entire covered hall. She slanted her head, cleared her throat as she continued.

"All violators shall be punished accordingly. Once again, good evening and enjoy the rest of the night."

A warm, loud round of applause sounded off around the place. The students clapped their hands as the anticipated time is yet to come.

At the right corner of the hall, supporters of Sandra Lee gathered with banners and flags. They seated peacefully as they waited a couple of times.

Behind the grandiose stage, fifty-six glowing competitors prepared themselves for the preliminary. Both girls and boys were seated in front of a mirror while their makeup artists did their best.

"I think someone from the senior high school will seize the crown," spoke one of the girls who curled the tip of her long, blonde hair.

Little did she know, Sandra was around, listening to her. She wanted to pull the girl's hair but she must procure all of the special awards and crown no matter what.

The other girls from the freshmen department shook their heads in agreement. They like someone else to win but behind them, Sandra gritted her teeth and walked away from their quarters.

She threw the three red lipsticks she was about to give to them, scowling back to her district.

"Hey, what's with your face again? You looked like a dead, beauty queen, for heaven's sake!"

"Shut up! I didn't ask your opinion!"

Lou sealed her mouth abruptly before Sandra hit her head. She went to the corner, took the cellphone from the mini table.

She opened it until the time popped up to the wide, bright screen. "Calm down, because anytime soon, the event will commence!"

"If you want to win, own the crown and the title, you have to focus, you need to be strengthened and be confident enough to handle every little, big thing like rejection and failure."

Sandra's mentor blown her away with his words of wisdom and reality. He was right, but he was filled with selfish desires and ambitions.

Instead of telling her how to be a professional delegate, he poisoned her innocence and mind.

She breathed heavily, rolled her eyes until Roy arrived with all of his things and robes. "I thought you're not competing anymore!"

Anger drew to her face, pouted her lips as she took selfies for her supporters and fans.

"I went someplace, and you don't have to know every detail of my actions, right?"

His brow narrowed, a smirk shown on his lips when he looked at Sandra. "Whatever!"

By then, Roy was seated on the chair beside his cousin. Closed his eyes while listening to the new playlist that Halora gave to him, a few days ago.

"Wake me up, five minutes before seven." He told the makeup artist who silently stealing photographs of him.

Roy never bothered about it. It was a common thing for him after long, long years living in another country.

After an hour, everything was set and all delegates were ready to conquer the stage. The event's prominent speakers went onto the side of the stage with the official program.

"Good evening to all of you, as we gathered here tonight, we are excited to declare openly the preliminary competition!"

"While our promising fifty-six contenders prepared backstage, can we hear the name of your favorite male candidate?"

"Roy!"

"Roy!"

"Roy Adrian!"

Most of the girls inside of the hall screamed his name. It brought tension between all the supporters but fortunately, the crowd calms down after they yelled and applauded.

The speakers smiled genuinely, "How about your favorite queen?"

The group of Sandra's supporters stood with banners and confetti. They shouted her name while the rest mumbled other names.

"Alright, I think this year's competition will be bloody between our 28 fabulous queens. But, the real, confident, and with a purpose empowered delegate will take home the pure gold crown with almost half a million dollars of cash prizes."

"Wow! What promising prizes for this grand night!"

The speakers were blown away by the hidden awards for the grand winner. It was planned a year ago that will change the history of the entire competition.
