My Goalkeeping System

450 Dangerous When He Strikes

Fifteen minutes had already passed since Unique FC opened the scoreline in a classical way and so far Black Roz FC had been unable to respond to that.

They were doing quite well in keeping Unique FC from dismantling their defense but they weren't keeping them away completely.

It took an assist from Mateo for them to realize that they had to heavily mark him but at least they were doing that now.

Unique FC were still able to pull off a couple of good chances after that goal from Fred but only one of them came really close to going in.

It was set up from Ferran to Mateo inside the box, the winger got his left foot on it right on time for both of the players right on his trail caught up to him, but the ball ended up hitting the post before rolling out for goal kick.

The winger really came close to putting that one away but it was just not meant to be.

Black Roz FC were also able to pull off a couple of really good chances.

They won a free kick at the edge of the box which Aveiro took and came quite close to putting it in from the right but he missed the goalpost by just a few inches as the ball ended up flying over the bar.

A few minutes later, the same Aveiro fired the ball from thirty yards out where no one expected him to shoot from.

It was obvious Dave also wasn't expecting that in any way as he was glued to a spot while the ball ended up hitting the crossbar before flying over for a goal kick.

That could have been such a sick goal and a guaranteed one just because Dave wasn't even able to go toward it.

However, neither of those two was their best chance. Their best chance was when Mason somehow managed to stagger his way past Aima and Adolf with the ball glued to his feet and just before Dave could run into him he sent the ball flying toward the right.

However, Dave was able to make slight contact with the ball just at the right time to push it farther enough for it to hit the post before rolling off toward Minino who sent it flying away from the goalpost as soon as possible.

At this point in the match, it was safe to say that Black Roz FC were doing quite well against Unique FC looking at all the chances they've managed to get against them.

However, Unique FC were still dominating the game while leading the scoreline so everything was still in their favor.

They were also making sure that their opponent's access to the ball was limited by keeping it to themselves most of the time and not making any careless attempts with it.

Black Roz's defense was quite tough on them, but they were still trying to find a way.

There was always going to be a way, they just had to find it and exploit it.

Ferran received the ball right at the center of the pitch from Martinez, and just before Mason could get to him he sent the ball rolling to Minino who had to push it back to Luis Roberto.

Luis got his foot on the ball and without hesitation, he sent the ball flying over to Mateo on the left.

Mateo had to quickly move away from the defensive midfielder marking him to get his head on the ball and send it flying toward Ferran.

"Sends it to Ferran with a header."

Ferran got his foot on the ball and neatly nutmegged Mason in his attempt to move back with the ball and after that he sent the ball rolling to Minino down the right.

"Looks like they're just keeping the ball in the middle."

Minino had to push the ball back to Ferran who quickly turned and sent it rolling to Roland who had moved down toward the center of the pitch now.

"Roland."

Roland quickly pushed the ball forward toward the defensive midfielder who was heading his way and just as the midfielder stretched his leg to try and take the ball from him, he quickly moved it toward the light and ended up completely evading him, now he was racing down the middle with it.

"Roland's on the run here."

The left-back had Mason heading toward him as he approached the box, but just before the midfielder could get to him, he sent the ball to Merino who tried to chip it over for Fred but he shouldn't have rushed it like that.

The defender there neatly brought the ball down with his chest and moved it past Fred before firing it forward Aveiro up front.

Aima and Adolf were already moving forward with Luis and Roland way too deep on the offensive.

The only person who was keeping both George and Aveiro on side was Martinez.

"They're trying to start a counterattack here."

The defensive midfielder quickly rushed to the striker before the ball could get to him and managed to get his head on the ball, but instead of nodding it forward toward any of his teammates, he decided to nod it backward.

Dave got the gist immediately and quickly rushed to the ball and got to it before George could.

He feigned firing it out to startle George and that worked quite well for him as he quickly got past the striker to set the ball up for a proper kick.

"What's Dave planning to do here? Is he going to go for goal?"

Aveiro was quickly heading toward him right at that time, but just before he could get to him, the goalkeeper quickly pulled his leg back and quickly sent the ball flying toward the goalpost.

However, he wasn't going directly for the goalpost, rather he was trying to Fred and he did pretty well in sending the ball on the right path.

Fred moved deeper into the box as the ball got closer to him until he finally managed to get his head on the ball before anyone else could.

"It's Fred!"

That was a really good header from the striker, but unfortunately, the ball ended up hitting the crossbar before flying over for a goal kick.

"Oh, that was so close."

The striker let out a deep sigh before he got up from the floor and turned his gaze to Dave to give him a thumbs up.

"That was such a lovely setup from Dave, he's always full of surprises."

That chance forced out quite the gasp from the fans and now all that could be heard was them chanting Dave's name.

<That could have been it>

'Yeah, I'll get it next time, I hope.'

The match had just entered the forty-fifth minute with Unique FC still leading one goal to nothing.

Mateo had been quiet for a while now and it looked like he was sticking like that.

This wasn't the first time he had been marked like this in a match but he was just going along with this one.

Ferran was with the ball now, and after passing it to the winger, he just sent it back to him.

The midfielder quickly turned toward the box now to find Minino, Merino, and Fred making their way into the area so he attempted lobbing the ball over to them but the defender there was fast enough to go up and get his head on the ball.

However, he made the mistake of nodding it toward Mateo.

The winger quickly got past the midfielder marking him with a neat nutmeg before quickly heading toward the edge of the box.

"Oh, it's Mateo."

He feigned firing it at the defender right in front of him before he quickly stretched it a little to the right and fired it right toward the top right-hand side of the goalpost.

"Mateo!"

The goalkeeper dived toward the ball right at that time, but he failed to get his hand on it as the ball ended up hitting the angle between the post and crossbar before smashing right into the goalpost.

"And he puts it in!"

The fans were going wild now as the winger quickly raced to the sideline but before he could do anything, Minino got to him and dragged him down.

"What a strike from outside the box, he's been quiet for a while now but he's just shown us that he is still in the game." Steve expressed.

"Yeah, he is dangerous when he strikes."
