451 Brilliant Plan

After that stunner from Mateo Black Roz FC tried their best to pull off something before the first half came to an end but they failed to do that before the referee blew his whistle twice to bring the first half to an end.

Unique FC players were all in the locker room now with Norman standing right in front of them because he had a few things to tell them about what they needed to do in the second half.

He made sure to stress the fact that he had just a few things to tell them and he wasn't joking.

He only spoke to the players for about five minutes before leaving the room.

However, he made sure to hit really important points with the few things he had to share with them.

His tactics remained the same, all they needed was to implement what he just told them now and make things easier for themselves in the second half.

With the coach out of the room now, the players began to converse among themselves.

Adolf was speaking to the other defenders while Mateo seemed to be discussing something that sounded pretty interesting with Merino.

Dave on the other hand was just scanning the room looking for nothing in particular.

It didn't take long before the players had to start making their way back to the pitch to kick off the second half.

"Welcome back everyone, the second half of the match is about to kick off here as we can see the players making their way to the pitch now," Jim announced.

"The first half was pretty good, I loved how well Black Roz FC fought to try and keep out Unique FC but unfortunately, they still had to collect two goals, I can't wait to see how this second half pans out."

Unique FC were the ones who started the match from the kick-off spot in the first half which meant that Black Roz FC were going to be the ones doing it in this half as George could be seen standing over the ball.

All he was waiting for now was the referee's whistle, and as soon as he heard it, he sent the ball rolling to Mason.

"There's the whistle and we are back into it."

The home team were doing quite well in keeping the ball away from Unique for a while or perhaps that was because they didn't attempt attacking yet because the moment they tried to, they ended up losing the ball.

Ten minutes passed and it was just a stalemate between both sides.

They were doing pretty well with their movements up front but their defenses were doing so well in cancelling out their attacks.

Unique FC were the only ones who managed to pull out a shot during the first ten minutes of the first half and it was another shot from Mateo from outside the box.

The goalkeeper could have kept this one out but it didn't matter because the ball ended up hitting the crossbar before flying over the bar for a goal kick.

Aveiro was moving toward the right with the ball now with Roland slowly heading his way but just before the left-back could get to him, he pushed the ball to George down the middle.

However, before George could go any further with the ball, Martinez slid toward him in an attempt to take the ball off him but he failed as the striker somehow still managed to retain the ball and get away from the midfielder but that wasn't the end.

Suddenly, Mateo quickly closed in from behind and took the ball off the striker with a neat tackle.

"Strange to see Mateo helping out in defense but he's got the ball now," Jim commented.

The winger quickly took off to the right with the ball and it didn't look like he was planning to slow down.

He was able to easily get past Mason and he was still going.

"Mateo's moving, he's moving too fast."

Just as the winger got closer to Minino as he approached the boss, he pushed the ball to the midfielder who quickly sent it back to him as soon as he got past both of the players in front of him.

"Nice teamwork."

With the winger now closing down on the right wing, Merino quickly began to shift to the left, and while he was still doing that, Mateo sent the ball rolling to him.

"I smell danger around Black Roz's box."

The winger got hold of the ball while still moving and just before any of the defenders could do anything to take it from him, he sent it rolling to Fred who quickly pushed it back to Mateo.

Mateo paused as soon as he got hold of the ball with the left back quickly heading toward him but before he could get close enough to him, he pushed the ball back to Minino before quickly rushing past the defender to receive the ball back from his teammate right inside the box.

"He's on side with a lot of options here."

The winger quickly feigned firing the ball toward the goalpost to get the player right in front of him to drop to the floor.

He could have scored himself because he was in a very good position but he found Fred right down the middle with an open net right in front of him and decided to send the ball to him.

The striker just had to tap the ball in before anyone could get to him and he did just that, it was the easiest goal ever.

"Now, that's what you call teamwork!."

"That was some mad effort from Mateo, it was like he had everything planned in his head, taking the ball from George like that and making that, he could have finished it off himself there but I guess passing it to Fred was the safer option." Steve articulated. "That was a brilliant set up to such a simple-looking goal."

Fred had to quickly rush toward Mateo as soon as he put the ball in.

This was the second time the winger was assisting him tonight and he was very happy about that.

The voices of the fans were going up now while Black Roz FC players had devastated looks on their faces, it looked like they were going to lose to Unique FC once again.

This was Mateo's brilliant plan and it worked even better than he expected.

Switching positions was something he discussed with Merino during the halftime break but he didn't exactly plan it like this.

He found out that getting past the wingback on his side was a bit difficult and he wanted to see how things would pan out for him on the other side and Merino had no reason to disagree but they had to do it this way to make sure he was unprepared for the storm he was bringing and everything worked out quite well.

"That's a goal and two assists for Mateo Smith tonight, he's still leading the race for the golden boot and the Playmaker award and it doesn't look like he's planning on slowing down," Jim commented.
