Mysterious Martial Cultivator

Volume 2 Chapter 12 Festival

Just as Li Tian was going on his way towards the sect, he saw a young boorish man trying to hunt for magical beasts. A memory of humiliation sprang in his mind as he recalled the events of that day.

The year was coming to an end. This was the favorite moment for all the disciples in the Ice Phoenix sect, for they are able to go back to their families and celebrate the New Year. Li Tian had never stepped outside the sect since he came here three years ago. He was five years with a chubby face and mischievous eyes. He had requested the sect master to let him go with the elders as they take the disciples to the nearby towns and join the festival but rejected on grounds of being two small and mischievous.

This time he has made the third elder promise him by stealing pills from the first elder. The first elder Yin Yihong doted on him and taking advantage of the fact he was able to steal the strange orange colored pills from the pill storage. He had got the promise of Shen Mengqing so he would be able to see the celebrations in the town.

The eldest ones were to be taken care of by the third elder. Her carefree attitude made it impossible for her to be trusted with protecting younger disciples.

The first elder took a look at the disciples who have come over making sure all of them are present surprised by the fact that Li Tian did not ask her this time around to visit the town. A large snow Wyvern flew over from the distance excitedly roaring. She calmed down her beast while helping the disciples on it and confirming that Li Tian was not here yet she motioned the beast to get going.

The third Elder motioned her lazy looking owl while not bothering the fact to count the disciples who came over. Many inner sect and core disciples who have grown older choose to stay in the sect rather than indulge on the pleasures of the secular world. The novelty had long gone and what remained was a way to waste your time. Shen Mengqing flashed as the disciples came aboard the owl carrying a black hooded figure back from the sect and got ready to leave the sect with the disciples.

The owl raced her way through the starry sky crossing the ice tundra in lightning fast speed overtaking the wyvern. The disciples accustomed to the rash carefree personality did not get surprised, while our MC was holding his urge to puke at that very moment. He did not get to immerse himself in the beautiful scenery that could be witnessed by those sitting on the backs of the owl. He was till surprised that the lazy looking owl had such tremendous speed while the third elder had a loving smile on her face enjoying the reckless ride.As the came close to the town, the owl took a dive like a roller coaster landing on the ground with a loud thump.

Shen Mengqing gave each of the disciples’ two pills and said “Each you are supposed to take these two pills according to first elder to ensure a trouble-free welcoming in the town. I will get going and we will meet when the sun rises here again.”

Li Tian curiously eyed the two pills in his hands not knowing why he was give them as well. He wanted to ask her what was result of eating the two pills before he watched the ladies turn from beautiful to ugly in the blink of a second. Their curvaceous figures and charming faces turning into pale faced thin ones. He could barely reconcile their figures with the faeries they were before.

The town had lit up with the guards joining in the celebration as well. As they entered the town Li Tian noticed the charming atmosphere in the town with stalls lining up outside the street selling all kinds of items. The new clothe , the dazzling jewelry, potions, food, sweets -name it you will find them in the stalls across town. The bustle and cheers of the children when they saw a dragon conjured up and bursting into flames high up the sky. He had never come across magic but he could feel the dragon obeying someone. An illusion of a knight winning against a dragon to save a princess was also broadcast in the royal color sky, the stars in the background were shining like faeries giving blessings. He saw children playing games in the stalls, girls and boys whispering to each other and laughter was spread across the town creating a jovial sight. The sweets were extremely delicious feeling that the shopkeeper was generous at returning him money along with food. He felt the stories of the outside world being dangerous completely false, people here were so friendly to get along.

As he roamed around the town he saw a dark passage, feeling curious he went in to find people there. Unlike the festive atmosphere in the town he felt a dreadful desolateness. It felts as if the sun was covered by the clouds denying warmth and light too this part of the town. He saw skinny people with wrinkles and boys pale faced shrinking and shivering asking for food. He felt horrible inside seeing them beg for food and the cheerful mood was swept away at once. He did not understand why they were like this when food was in excess in the town, when there were so many kind shopkeepers who returned him money, the notes they returned were sometimes even bright colored unlike the dull ones he gave. Are these people bad so that the others exclude them? However, feeling pity rising up in him, he gave all his food and money, taking a child with him to the shopkeeper.

Just as he went out, a haughty boy was followed by an entourage of people fawning over him. He glanced at the boy beside me and frowned. “Hey bitch why have I seen your face when I am going to propose to Shen Yi. Come someone flag him, break his bones and throw him in the garbage.” The haughty disdainfully ordered.

Li Tian seeing the situation got angry “Hey brother why are you telling them to break his bones, he did not do anything to you. Why are you being unfair”

The haughty boy flushed red “Shit! Shut up! Do you know who I am? I am the son of the town governor. My words are law here. Now that you spoke you will join him as well.”

Li Tian was shocked. He had never seen anyone so unreasonable. The elders and the sect master would rebuke him and punish him when he did something wrong. But now this boy was going to directly break his bones for no reason.

He could not say he was from the Ice Phoenix sect because he was a male. Glancing around he hoped to see whether there were any sisters around to help him only to be disappointed. He shouted for help but nobody paid it any heed. The boy threw him to the pursuers and ran away. Shocked by this, he did not notice when his bones were broken and he was thrown in the garbage.

He had tried to help the boy only to see him abandon himself when there was a need. He was betrayed and humiliated like never before and an urge to cultivate was born at this very moment. He felt the desire to teach the haughty boy a lesson and ask the beggar boy why he betrayed him. This was the first time in life he desired power.
