New Emperor Of Ghouls

"Your majesty, Your majesty." Shouts of worry came from the road at one of the entrances to the now destroyed camp.

He walked towards the noise to see the countless heads running towards him and even more coming from the tree line.

At the head of the running soldiers, was General Hong and General Cheng.

"Your majesty, we had been searching for you for an entire week." Cheng Jian Jun's had a relieved tone to it.

"An entire week?" Asked Zhong Yi. Despite everything that happened, it couldn't have been more than a few hours to a day, couldn't it?

"Your majesty, he speaks the truth." Added General Hong while looking behind Zhong Yi at the chaos he caused. "it seemed our worries were misguided."

"I'm relieved you worry so much for me." He placed his hand on Commander Cheng's head and patted General Hong's head as he walked past. "But, we must leave before any more surprises happen."

The Commander and General exchanged worried glances at the unsettling feeling they felt from his majesty's touch.

"WERE HEADING BACK!" Shouted Cheng Jian Jun.

As Zhong Yi stepped out of the teleportation portal, a young Ghoul tackled him.

'When you break. I will take over your body and enjoy that little girl."

Zhong Yi's fire surged within him as his anger threathened to boil over. His hands shook as he enveloped his daughter in a hug.

Anger at his helplessness, anger at not being able to harm this thing.

"That's it. Let your anger fuel your actions, Let your soldiers become your sword and create chaos amongst those pitifully weak green experiments."

He tightened his hug and whispered to his daughter, voice cracking slightly. "I missed you, princess."

"I missed you too" Her eyes glistened from the tears she was holding back.

'You old fool, if anything happens to my little girl. I will resurrect you and flail you, heal you and then torture you again and again and again.'

"'ou can try little one, but I will gain your body.'

'Not if im dead.'

Chaos' voice stuttered. 'Y-You wouldn't.'

'I will make sure you never gain my body and then order my people to bury you so far in the earth that no one will ever find you.'

'You don't have the guts to do that, You would leave your daughter heartbroken and fatherless to a world that will swallow her up and devour her.'

Zhong Yi's face paled.

'I will if I have to, so try me!' Shouted Zhong Yi.

Chaos went silent.

"You got a taste of my power before you brief unconsciousness. You will beg me sooner or later.' Chaos' voice had a strange, unsettling calmness to it.

"Then I will just have to make sure, I don't have to."

Sitting cross-legged on the floor in his royal bed chambers, Zhong Yi pushed his spirit energy inside his body through the familiar energy pathways.

The process had almost become instinctual from cultivating from a young age.

Suddenly, all his spirit energy began to converge in his dantian.

His 40% Bloodline, on par with a level 12 imperial bloodline, made sure that there were no block necks to breakthrough.

Instead, all he had to do was build up enough energy and the rest would be handled by itself in an instinctive manner.

Unfortunately, he couldn't cultivate faster because spirit energy would also be supplied to the muscles to strengthen them.

The Ghoul physique makes it possible for them to cultivate their body as well, making them twice as strong for the price of cultivating slower than others with the same level of talent.

Zhong Yi smiled as he felt his spirit energy build up and then break. Waves of power rushed through his body as it was strengthened at a cellular level and his spirit energy became more potent.

"Only stage 4-8," If anyone heard what he said, they would vomit blood. His disappointment would cause millions to burst blood vessels out of anger.

'Cultivating harder won't save you from me' Chaos' annoying voice echoed out within his head.

He had grown used to the old voice in his head. It attempts to distract, tempt and goad him fell on deaf ears.

The voice would stop talking for a while, but the fact that there was someone in his head was disconcerting. But the occasional comments about his daughter always got a reaction, one that shit Chaos up for a while.

"What is it?" Asked Zhong Yi as he heard a knock on the door.

"Your majesty, I have come to report."

"Come in."

Zhong Yi didn't want to have to rely on receiving information from meetings to know the inner happenings inside his growing empire.

So he called upon Feng Chen to take upon the task of being the Emperor's shadow.

He was pleased with how Feng Chen handled the Assassin order and the information network he

managed to set with the minimal amount of resources available to him.

Plus, Zhong Mei really missed her uncle Chen and bringing him back, got him a kiss on the cheek. So he wasn't about to send him back anytime soon.

"Prince Alucard's preparations are nearing completion."

"Already?" Asked Zhong Yi with a hint of surprise.

"He had been preparing for this for a long period of time. Sources tell me that it might have been well before he even had a region of his own."

Zhong Yi told him he didn't have to address him as a friend because of how he had come to appreciate his talents.

"Interesting, How big would the initial stages be?"

"We have reason to believe that it would have each goblin clan embroiled in matters of their own for a long time, how long? We don't know."

"Do you know who are privy to this information?"

"Almost everyone inside his court. It seems like the prince is aware of who are spies are, but purposely allows them to live."

"Deception? I'm beginning to like this prince even more."

Zhong Yi got up from his cross-legged state and walked towards the door with Feng Chen in tow.

"What about the bridge."

The Goblin town the prince allowed for ghouls to enter from was named bridge. It was a clever name considering, it was essentially a bridge between both the goblins and ghouls.

"Knowing we were selling grains enhanced by spirit energy, goblins flocked towards the towns like vultures to corpses."

They both snickered at the thought.

"We had to use some force to deter the more reckless goblins, but other than that. They sell out as quickly as they reach the bridge."

"As you said before, the high profile targets did show and we have had our people shadowing them."

They walked towards the study and Zhong Yi sat on the chair behind the desk.

"However, our lack of personnel makes it hard to be efficient, and one's training won't be in the field for another month."

"Your majesty, I have had a question on my mind that has been bugging me for a while."

"You should know already, that you don't have to ask for permission."

Feng Chen's expression brightened slightly as he nodded his head.

"How did Ancestor Ghoul have so many ghouls with him the make the Sacred Ghoul Emperor, when he was the only offspring of Cherubim Angel Angela and the Royal Demon Murmur."
