Odin In The Wizarding World

Chapter 11 - 11: The Goblet of Fire

Despite feeling the instinctive pull to the two twins, they couldn't be more different from each other without stopping to look like twins. Edward thought while listens to the man he is mentally calling Mr Headmaster. Feeling the old familiar bond once again snap into place, while being rooted to the floor, he not only instinctively but also spiritually recognises his two wives, his true soul mates.

Elated to find them after just a few days of awakening his memories, the former Allfather has to constantly fight against the instinct to rush over and reclaim them, that being th case until the Goblet of Fire is revealed. Seeing the blue flames dance insite the goblet, Odin has only one shocking thought remaing in his mind. -Frost Giant Flames?! What are the chances that these flames end up in the same world as me?-

Occupied with staring into the flames to uncover their hidden secrets, Edward is unaware of the Proudmore twins very similar reaction. Grabbing unconsciously for each others empty hand, they give each other silent unwavering comfort, while accepting the surge of unwanted memories together. Despite having lived this new life of theirs in the wizarding world for seventeen year now, the wounds left behind by Ragnarok have stil not started to healed.

Meanwhile the former Allfather comes up with half a dozened unverifiable explanations for how the flame of a Frost Giant might have ended up in this world and a handful of practical uses for it. Topping off each list are -Pure Coincidence- and -Phylacterium-. Pure Coincidence being a far more convenient answer than destiny, since it had been destiny that caused Ragnarok and Phylacterium as creating one is his best shot at reclaiming a form of true immortality.

Lost in his own conjectures and thoughts, Edward only returns to the present, when Dumbledor announces. ''... if choosen there's no turning back. As from this moment the tri-wizard tournament has begun.''

As soon as his thoughts return to the situation at hand, they are enslaved once again by the two very differently flavoured twins, one premium vanilla, the other wild cherry. Forcing himself to avoid their perfecty sculpted diamond shaped faces carrying each a pair of soul crushing sapphire/mint blue eyes as to not lose his sence of reality, Odin focues instead on their bodys many similarities and differences.

While in fact posessing the same face and body shape, he covers very suttle and barely noticeable differences. If he had to guess, he would say, that the blond is two centimetres taller (petite 1,64m) and has one cup size bigger b.r.e.a.s.ts (perfecty rounded DDs), while the dark haired one is a proximately 2kg heavier (well balanced 58kg) with a much more fit overall complexion.

Just thinking that somebody else might be able to claim these two surpreme godesses drives the former Patriarch of Nordic Pantheon to genocide, just so that the possibility of the thought becomes an impossibility. Meanwile any mental attempt on his part to chose one over the other based on make up, hair color or jewellery starts a very well possible centuries lasting internal debate inside of not only Edwards mind, but heart.

As he tries to escape this age old debate, that plagued him in his previous life, he finds himself in the midst of a great feast worthy of any fallen warrior. Flanked by both Karkaroff and Krum on both sides, he is able to successfully shift his thoughts away from the two sirens, the former all father starts to dig in.

Claiming one chicken leg after another while gobbling down one goblet of ale after the next, his weak ghoulish body instantly absorbes the nutrients and ether contained within, before evenly distributing them via his nervo-system throughout his system.

Losing himself in the sensation of the foots and drinks smell, tast and texture, his eyes land once again on to the Goblet of Fire still containing the Frost Giant Flame. As Edward deems the fire essential to his overall goal of ever lasting happiness, some of Dumbledores words finally penetrate his skull, after lingering in the air for several minutes and enter is consciousness. Sentences like ''... contests are not for the faint hearte...'' and ''...Eternal glory, that is what awaits the student who wins...'' echo inside of his skull and make his blood boil. Inherently attracted by danger, honour and beauty, the former Allfather decides to mess with this magical sorting artifact to get himself not only the right to participate in the tournament, but also a sample of the Frost Giant Flame.

Once again stairing at the Goblet of Fire, this time to analyse its inherent spell structure, Edward is once again unaware of his surroundings, including a conversation between the Proudmore twins.

Having recovered from the stream of horrible memories with each others help by the time the feast had begun, Sibilla and Irena have since than followed Edwards every action.

Looking deep into each others eyes they tell each other simultaneously. ''It's him!''

Nervously straightening her uniform in an attempt to calm herself down, Sibilla asks her sister. ''I think he looked at me. How do I look? Should I loosen my hair? Or...''

''Sibi just stop...'' Tells Irena as she interrupts her sister before leasury commenting. ''... Calm down... we already have him hooked... Didn't you see his l.u.s.tfull eyes roaming our perfect bodies?''

Having been to nervous to notice, Sibilla asks in disbelief. ''We did? This easy? How did we...''

''We did it by looking incredibly tempting and fabulous...'' Explains Irena, while placing one of her index fingers over her sisters lips before asking her sister. ''... Do you want to participate at this tournament? I bet we can awaken the competitive caveman side of his and drive him nuts.''

''We better not do that...'' States Sibilla, while nervously fidgeting with the hem of her dress. ''... The one time I did that by flirting with a giant, he did wipe out their entire race. Best not to do so.''

''Oh, that was a glorious slaughter...'' Comments Irena, remembering herself burying her spear deep into the eye of one particularly ferocious giant, she tells her sister with a big smile on her face. ''... But if you wilI not do it, I will.''

Meanwhile Edward has discovered three glaring weaknesses reguarding the Goblet of Fires inherent spell structure. First and formoust it is missing a crucial security feature since it seams to be possible to throw into it a name other tham your own. Secondly, the maximum number set of three for the participants is easily changed without compromising the spells functions. And Third, the whole sorting function can easily be manipulated by simply limiting the choices of a single draw down to one particular name.

Having discovered these three weaknesses in the inherit spell structure, a sly smile appears on his face, as he thinks the fun he might be having with it in the not so distant future.

Standing witness to the whole ordeal, a fourth party is throwing mental daggers at the twins, while shooting Edward longingly glances. That forth party being Hermione, who hasn't taken even one bite since the beginning of the feast.

Having seen her beloved big brother reaction to the twins, the initially cold jealous rage inside of her c.h.e.s.t has since turned into a blazing inferno, ready to devour anybody who might receive her brothwrs affection. In the midst of her own infatuation and rage, Hermione is oblivious to Sibilla's and Irena's telling unconscious reactions.

Clearly showing primitive signs of attraction and l.u.s.t regarding Edward, she in turn interpretes them as bad acting attempts of two p.r.o.s.t.i.t.u.t.es.

Balling her hands into fists, the fourteen year old swears to herself not to give up her brothers attention to these two or anybody else without a fight. As she is searing in her jealous rage and making plans on how to get rid of the competition, she is unaware of Ron, making coy faces at her expense. Muffling his laughter but unable to suppress a wry smile, even Harry finds himself entertainment by his friends antics.
