Origin

*The dialogue and monologues in this chapter is spoken in animal languages. For your convenience I translated it into basic English spoken by the Main character. Now enjoy!

Looking at that deer I couldn't control myself and touch my forehead. Whenever I touched my forehead it would terribly hurt but today I felt differently. I felt excited finally I could get rid of this terrible slave mark. The deer also had the mark on his forehead but I could feel that it was different from ours. My mark is a sign of me being an eternal slave but the mark on that deer was different. I felt great power coming out of that mark which made my body to kneel before it.

I couldn't catch up to deer but wherever his hooves touches plants grew. If I follow the path created by the plants I am sure I could know the origins of this deer. I looked at the girl next to me and without even saying a word we both nodded and started to follow the path created by the deer. It took us a lot of time but we finally arrived before the gigantic tree. Actually we didn't arrive before it because we always saw that tree. Even in Ape Kingdom we could see it. This tree was always there. It was visible but unreachable just like moon and sun on the sky. But we're here standing before it. I felt great pressure just by looking at the tree. I felt as small as insect which really terrified me.

As I was about to explore the surroundings of the tree I felt some noise. My first instinct was to hide as fast as I could. I hid behind some trees and closed my eyes and waited. Was it an ape soldier or was it famed Wyvern. Slowly I opened my eyes and looked at that being.

It had golden hair and green eyes. It wore a weird looking clothes that were made neither from fur nor animal skin. He had pale white skin and long ears. I have never seen more ugly being in this world. He had no fur at all! Just by looking at him I felt a like vomiting. I always thought I was ugly because I had little fur but this creature is far uglier than me and every slave I ever saw. He quickly left and we could finally breath sight of relief.

I looked at the girl and said, "What do you think we have to do?"

Girl bitterly smiled and said, "I don't think we will find the way to get rid of mark here. That being had no mark on him. I think it's the wrong place! We have to find the origins of that deer!"

When I was about to agree I felt strong winds coming from my side. I looked at the place the wind was coming from and saw it. The brown flying reptile with winged arms and two legs. It was bigger than even the Ape King. The creature looks exactly like how Ape warriors described the wyvern.

With a roar Wyvern said, "You feeble beings sit on my back!" After he said that he landed his tail next to us. I was so terrified that I followed his instructions as fast as I could possibly do them. Using his tail we climbed at his back and soon we were flying towards somewhere. It was a long ride but not as long as we spend walking towards the tree. Finally Wyvern landed before gigantic cave. This was the biggest cave I ever saw. Wyvern entered the cave and we followed. The cave was like a gigantic maze. It was far bigger than the Ape Kingdom. During my travel around the cave I spotted many creatures. I saw lizards without wings, I saw birds gigantic as Wyverns, I saw many more creatures I couldn't never saw as such couldn't name.

After following Wyvern we arrived before one more cave. This time it was smaller than the initial cave but nonetheless gigantic. When I entered the cave Forst thing I saw was a lizard even bigger than Wyverns. He was so many time bigger and more intimidating. He had dark red scale color and had four legs and gigantic wing at his back. Surrounding him were three gigantic eggs just as big as that fearsome creature. There were many vines connecting that creature to the three eggs. There were many other creatures from different species but the one that had my attention was an Ape. When I saw him I felt my legs go soft and I kneeled. I cried out for forgiveness and the girl too cried for it. Ape smiled and said, "You slaves don't worry! I don't work for the Ape King. He's a weakling that can't rule us. My only master is the Great Dragon King Eragon!"

When I heard that I was so happy. I slowly raised my head to look at the dragon king. He was as majestic as described in the stories. He killed the previous Ape King and is the strongest being in the world. Dragon king opened his mouth and said, "Can you tell me your story my child. I love great entertaining stories about other beings life."

When I was about to tell him my story. I felt great amounts of pain. It was as if my head was getting smashed by something really heavy. When I thought I was going to die I heard Dragon king saying, "Huh! Who dares to use fire magic in front of me? INSOLENT!" After his words I felt good again and touched my forehead. I couldn't feel the mark. I was free. It was as if I was dreaming. My eyes started to tear up and I couldn't hold myself and started to crying.

I stopped crying when I heard Dragon King asking, "What is your name my child?"

I was confused and asked, "What is a name?" Dragon King too was confused and looked at the Ape next to him. Ape smiled and said, "Slaves don't have names! They are no different than tools! Why give them names when it's so stupid to name fools!"

Dragon King was in deep though and said, "Now you're free so I will give you name! From now on you will be known as Uther!" Then he looked at the girl next to me and said, "You'll be named Igraine from now on!"

After saying the he again looked at me and said, "Uther! I have an offer for you!"
