Overcoming The Beast

Chapter 128 - Nature Continent

The two weeks of travel went by quickly. Leon spent the whole time cultivating the Lightning God's Armor art. Oren had brought materials with him so he was able to cultivate it to 80 out of 9999 now.

Along the way Leon had caught up with Flint. Flint told him what happened after he left. He said that he had left after a while of training using the mirror. Chloe on the other hand had chosen to stay even longer. From their he met up with his parents again and came back to the Fire Continent. At the Fire Continent he trained and joined the Substitute team because it been to late to join the Competition.

After the two weeks they had crossed the border and entered the nature content. On their flying beasts.

The nature continent was a giant forest. Their verdant trees and emerald grass. The Sun was bright but not to hot. The wind blew with a soothing effect as if taking all your worries away with it.

The nature continent was ranked the most beautiful continent after the Holy and Light continent. It held pure untouched nature. All the inhabitants respected it and lived with. Their beasts were usually the plant or nature type.

"We have finally entered the nature Contient. The tournament Will be held at the royal city Flower Dance. Over there we will have accommodations already made for us."

The ten nodded and continued to follow Oren on their various beasts.

Abigail flew next to Leon, "The nature continent is so beautiful."

Leon didn't answer but Flint joined in, "It is, but this is just the tip of the iceberg, there are so many more beautiful places. It really gives you an appreciation to life."

Leon continued not answering he was thinking of what he should do next.

"I have three things I need to do. Grow the pink seed, try to get the Constellation beast Scorpio egg and visit moonlight Cliff."

"From the three, moonlight Cliff is the most important. I remember where it is, its just I'll have to wait until we get to our accommodations and are given time to roam and cultivate by ourselves."

The ten continued to fly and reached the City. Along the way they had seen beautiful clear lakes and rivers. The air was clean and pure conpared to the Fire Continent.

The eleven entered the City by flying over the wall. As competitors from the Fire Continent they had a special standing and were allowed to fly in the City.

The city itself was a giant forest. There were trees and houses everywhere. The houses were made of wood but not wood cut from trees but wood formed by beasts. The trees all had flowers in full bloom. Everytime the wind blew the petals would come off and dance through the City streets.

A Guard had joined them from the gate and led them to the arena.

The arena was a enormous, it was much bigger then the one used to fight the Substitute team.

"This arena was recently completed for this year's Three continental competition. Since the building was sped up to make sure it was done by the competition it isn't as nicely built as the Monarch wished." The guard said.

He was acting modest but the Arena was clearly beautiful and exquisitely designed. The guard gave a tour and then led them to an area near the arena with rows of empty houses.

"These houses were made specifically for the Fire Contient contestants. Now I will take my leave." The guard bowed and left.

The ten however weren't listing to him they were staring at the large shadow of a tree. The shadow could be seen from entering the City but now it was much more clearer. Especially from where the houses were.

Oren thanked the guard and saw the ten he walked up ans explained, "That tree right their is the old world tree. It is what gives this whole continent it's nature and beauty. The whole ecosystem and all life on this continent depend on that."

The ten were surprised. They knew about the world tree but it was still surprising to see it in person. Even the Building for the Counicl of Fire wasn't as big as it. The tree went high into the sky and looked like it had entered space.

"Teacher Oren, isn't it unsafe to have something so important so open. I can feel the pure Nature energy till here. So clearly it holds immense energy. Won't wild beast try to attack and devour it for evolution?" Abigail asked.

"The World tree is protected by a Secret Ancent Clan. Only the Nature Monarch and a few more people are allowed to get close to it. The others are all killed when they get to close." Oren answered.

"Do you know anything about this secret Ancient Clan?" Jolene asked.

"No, it is only known that since the world tree was born they were born with it. Their name and abilities are all hidden from the inhabitants and even most of the people under the Nature Monarch. So you can tell as outsiders we won't be able to find out anything."

Flavia was also interested in this Ancient Clan. Her Vesta Clan was also an Ancient Clan but it had long since disappeared. She had grown in a normal house until her primal beast was found out to be a Nine tailed Fire Spirit fox egg. From their she was accepted as a disciple of the High elder. Later she found out that the Fire egg passed down for centuries in her family was a Fire Dragon egg.

She contracted the egg and hatched it. From then she joined the Substitute team. Her Vesta Clan heritage was found by testing her blood and her parents' blood.

But overall she had never lived as a true Ancient Clan descendent.

Flint joined the conversation as well, "When I had visited the Nature continent as a child I remember seeing that the tree had one of its branches lost..." Flint said as he pointed at a branch.

Leon wasn't surprised but the other eight were.

"A beast strong enough to cut that branch." Odin said. No one knew how Odin saw things with his eyes covered but they had gotten used to it.

"Just it falling would cause the earth shake." Albert added.

Oren nodded, "Yes ten years ago that branch had been cut. It was done by an extremely strong beast. As you can see how it has grown back completely. The World tree has the ability of recovering. I think it took around five years for that branch to reform." As a high ranking member of the Council of Fire he kept track the things that happened in neighboring continents.

Hearing everyone taking Leon shook his head in disappointed. Everything that was just said was complete rubbish. It was all doctored by the Ancent Clan that protected the world tree, The Elven Clan.

The whole 'world tree' was a dead husk. It had almost no mass and was just looks. The real source of energy for the whole continent was at its center. At the center was an opening carved out. In that was the Tree of Life. The real divine tree and the branch of which Pandora was going to steal.

Leon had found this all out by stealing the memories of high level Pandora members. He hadn't verified the information himself but one of the members was the person who snuck in and stole the branch.

Oren let everyone choose a house and have everyone some time.

"I'll have to go and have your tournament passes made. It will take me a week to make them. Until then you all are allowed to roam freely in the City." Oren then left.

Since they now had time to explore the City the ten weren't going to waste it.

"Leon, me and Flavia will be going shopping do you want to come?" Abigail asked. Along the way here everyone had got to know each other. Abigail and Flavia had hit it off and became good friends.

"Sorry, I'll just rest." Leon declined and tried to leave before anyone else could stop him.

"Leon I want to have a sparring Match. Could you help me with my fighting techniques-" Odin asked but he was interrupted by Jolene.

"Odin you have a unique beast that transforms into a weapon, can you tell me about it. I mainly train in spear arts, I wanted to have a primal beast that could transform into a spear. But that didn't happen so I looked for a contract beast. I still haven't been able to find one so can you tell me about the Twin Shadow Fish." Jolene blocked Odin. She had a spirit ranked spear on her back. She also had short shoulder length hair and with red eyes. She was the fiery type that liked to fight her enemies head on.

Leon snuck away before he could be stopped anyone else.

Nate and Wick had also gotten along they both went and found a field to soar with each other.

Brandon asked the girls of he could join them and they didn't say no. Seeing them leaving Albert dragged Flint with him to join the group.

Flint wasted to have Leon join as well but he looked around and couldn't see him anymore.

Leon snuck away from the group and walked into the City. He had changed his clothes to something less eye-catching then the uniform and walked towards the main gate.

Oren had told them to stay in the City before leaving but he would sneak out and sneak back in before anyone could notice.

To leave the City you would need an entrance token. The competition pass Oren was getting would allow them all to leave. But Leon wasn't going to wait for that.

Leon found an uninhabited house in a secluded part of the City. It was still to early for people to come to the City to watch the tournament. It was around a month before that the City usually turned into a crowded mess.

Leon snuck in the house using formless aura. He then entered the bas.e.m.e.nt and formed a hiding formation using soul dew he had gotten Form Oren.

Leon then summoned the Dragon and had it enter ghost form and take him out. Normally he wouldn't have to be this careful but he knew he was in a city of experts. Anyone here could have special methods for sensing beasts. The short moment of time it took for the Dragon to transform and enter ghost form would be enough to sense it.

The formation in the house evaporated while Leon had the Dragon carry him in the direction of the place to complete his first task.
