Overcoming The Beast

As the netherworld ice gets weaker the air gets colder and colder until he finally reaches a room covered in netherworld ice. There was a small deposit of a crystal clear liquid. It was the culprit weakening the ice; it was s.u.c.k.i.n.g in all the coldness form the ice around it.

Looking at all NetherWorld ice Leon said. "There is so much netherworld ice here. I'm about to lose a treasure mine."

He walked up the pond, In it was a snow white egg. The egg had weird etchings of an unknown language in a faded black covering it.

"That's what I'm after, but first let's make the most of the situation."

Leon took out an empty bottle from the spatial ring in his mouth. It was the one he got from the treasury that had stored the Fire Winged Snake blood and filled it with the clear liquid. "It would be normally impossible to find Ice Crystal Liquid- especially something this high quality." He filled the bottle to the limit but still had most of the ice crystal liquid left.

Ice crystal liquid is found on the bottom of oceans when thousand year old ice is liquefied due to pressure over millions of years. It was a heavenly treasure of the highest quality. This Ice crystal liquid was even better as it had been purified, further condensed and aged.

He picked up a small piece of netherworld ice near him and swallowed it. Making sure to keep the spatial ring in his mouth away from the cold energy.

Leon started running the first level of an ice art. It was the three pages of low earth rank ice technique he got front the clans treasury. At first he didn't know how but his already shivering body started to shiver more. As he progressed in the art he stopped shivering.

But soon after he started feeling cold and hot where his body started turning blue. The Phoenix egg in his soul book unconsciously responded by using the fire elemental energy incorporated in his muscles and bone. At this point Leon felt his body tearing apart. He would feel a burning sensation then a freezing sensation, the pain allowed him to get better control of his body. He used it to control the Fire energy to transform it into a softer type to blunten the force of the ice energy. The pain lessened to a bearable amount.

Leon let out a loud grunt and then scratches his nails across his legs. He crawled to the ice crystal liquid and dips his tongue into it.

Leon started to drink the ice crystal liquid. He drank it fast stopping any of the energy reaching the spatial ring. The Phoenix egg continued to release more and more heat energy. Leon eventually drank all the liquid. He could feel his soul cooling and slowly freezing. He couldnt see any more, neither could he feel. His body felt numb, from muscles to emotions, even time seemed to have stop. Slowly he lost all his senses. He even felt his consciousness escaping. But he knew that if he fainted now he would die for sure.

Leon tried to move his body but felt no response but continued his action knowing that his body should still be able to move. With a quick jerk, using the energy left his body moves almost instinctively and bites his wrist pouring his blood on the egg on the bottom of the now empty pond.

The human and the egg form a mysterious connection. Leon's soul book manifested and started to freeze, the pure crimson book had ice grow on it until the book froze shut.

Leon finally regained his senses, with his tremendously increased ice affinity and with the help of his new contract beast. The egg started absorbing the ice elemental energy in him. The Ice art leveeds up to the second level and helped him send the cold ice energy into the egg much faster.

While in this time Leon started to sulk. "All the ice crystal liquid I drank, if properly collected and used could have made dozens of beast go through major evolutions. Although it helped increase my ice affinity, it was too much of a waste."

The egg turned brighter and brighter until it finally hatched. The shell broke apart to reveal a small snake the size of a finger. Completely white with translucent black eyes.

The small snake started circling around the room and eating the netherworld ice on the walls as it was about to eat it's second bite Leon grabbed it and started running out of the cave. He spat out the spatial ring and put it back on.

The cave started to crack and all the ice shattered. Leon swiftly grabbed as many shards of netherworld ice as he could and ran. He didn't bother dodging the ice spikes. Grabbing and jumping off them Leon made it much faster through the cave.

He used the ice art to form a sludge hammer which he used to smash the resealed magma wall. He tried to summon the Phoenix egg. But nothing happened.

Leon summoned to see his soul book to see it frozen. "Are you actually kidding me, I can't summon beast until it breaks." The cave behind him kept on collapsing.

No other choice Leon jumped into the magma. The excruciating pressure pushed down on him. But his body was like a diamond- unbreaking. The snake with him ignored the heat. Oddly enough it looked like the magma was avoiding the snake.

Leon used the eruption rune over and over again to reach the top. He shot out form the magma. The tiger that had been sleeping nearby woke up and jumped back in fright at the magma launched towards it.

Leon smashed into the ground in front of it. "I see you got used to the heat, you even took a long nap. Looks like you had a lot of free time." Leon said looking at the tiger with a mix of anger and loftiness.

The tiger looked at Leon and wondered who this was. Then it heard him and could feel the bond. It got up and tried to have Leon forgive it by rubbing itself on him.

Leon's face didn't break. He kept the coldness up. "You need to work hard. I rather not have a beast that doesn't have a drive to improve."

The tiger felt like the world lost its color it quickly begged for forgiveness and said it would improve. Leon ignored this and felt the Fire energy increase.

"The volcano is about to erupt."

He summoned his frozen soul book. "How do I deal with this..." The snake that had just say by and watched the fight came forward and ducked in all the ice into its mouth. "Impressive." Leon then summoned the Pheonix egg.

The egg came and started absorbing energy. Leon said "Go and use this place to hatch, hopefully soon. I'll come back and meet you occasionally." He heard a Phoenix cry resonate through him and the egg sunk into the magma. The egg sunk so deep Leon lost connection of it through soul vibrations.

"No one should be able to find it."

"I was not expecting such a large reserve of energy inside the volcano, I thought it would take around three years even if I sped things up using various methods but now it'll take less then two."

"So the volcano was being sealed by that ice energy so when I removed all the ice crystal liquid it tried to erupt again. Now the Phoenix should be able to stop the eruption by absorbing all the energy."

"But how did Orion find this cave in the first place. I only know that he got his Frost Dragon from here after soul searching him. But the white snake I got clearly is no Frost Dragon, it should be frost snake.

Leon went around in the volcano erasing anything that would show his presence. After he was sure no one would be able to tell the Phoenix was present he left.
