Overcoming The Beast

Chapter 31 - Setting Out (1)

Leon left the town and summoned his two beast. He then walked towards the volcano. He wanted to say goodbye to the Phoenix egg.

Leaving the town Leon stopped using Formless Body. His hair turned White again. His eyes grey. He stretched and felt better, Formless Body took a part of his energy which he couldn't use anymore until he removed the skill.

The Beast and Leon were having a nice Stroll through the desert sand. The snake was at it's usual position on Leon's head while the tiger walked beside.

Whoosh.

The wind picked up. Leon already knew what was coming. He had been through this too many times. The desert is supposed to have sandstorms everyday but why whenever I come through?

He looked at his two naive beast nor knowing the pain they were about to go through. Leon suddenly laughed at a thought. He decided not to tell them and see how they survivr through it.

The tow beast didn't know what was happening but seeing Leon laugh without reason got their senses up. They looked around for enemies. Seeing that everything was clear they stopped caring.

A burst of strong wind came pulling them up into the air. Leon took out the Fire Sealing chain and threw the blade into the ground. He then tied the chain to his left ankle. He looked like he was standing on a pole of chain. Leon stood straight up as he was being pulled and watched the two beast fly.

The tiger roared and tried to get away by waving its legs. The snake didn't look panicked. It just casually flew through the sky. For the first time the tornado came straight for Leon. Seeing this Leon felt happier. The situation didn't feel dangerous currently.

The snake acted casual. A boulder came at it. It shot a Frost ray, then used it to launch itself to the ground where it sealed itself in a coffin of ice. Leon laughed. It was about to have a bumpy ride.

The tiger couldn't do anything. It felt lost in the maze of sand and wind. It couldn't even tell which direction was up or down. But it had seen the snake before it lost all sight. It planned to do the same.

Leon who was still standing on his pole of chain. Saw what the tiger was doing through his Soul energy. The tiger looked to be waiting for some kind of boulder like the snake. It was too bad it waited too long. Five boulders were coming at it with it knowing.

Leon took out his bow and covered the arrows he created with soul energy and shot them. He shot three boulders and two were still going. He then watched. The tiger finally saw the boulder on it's right. It got prepared to use the rock.

A boulder came from above and smashed it down. The tiger now spinning on his own axes as well as around the tornado was lost again. A string came out from somewhere and tied around its leg. It was then pulled.

On the other side it saw Leon.

It felt angry on the fact that Leon didn't worn them. It was thinking of ways to get Leon back when Leon said. "You should feel lucky I saved you. Look at the snake. Leon pointed with his free hand.

The tiger looked at where Leon was pointing. It saw a blue box of ice spinning pass like a bullet.

It suddenly felt better.

The tornado passed and they all landed the ice bullet was launched into the ground and got stuck.

Leon and the tiger walked over. The snake broke out dizzy and unstable. Leon looked at it shaking his head.

"You both need to work on your quick reaction skills. The snake could react but it hadn't thought it through. And you tiger almost died because you planned on copying a plan you couldn't even carry out."

"The boulder you were planning on jumping off of was made of heavy stone. It was small but you would have been sent to the moon by the force it carried. And how did you even plan on slowing it down. The snake used Its Frost Ray what do you have for a range skill?"

"Think a bit. You Frost snake what did you plan on achieving on making yourself a rock to be pulled in by the tornado. You landed right in front of my chain and could have easily bonded yourself to it."

Both beast looked sad. Leon laughed and started walking in the direction of the volcano. Both beast followed with their heads down.

"That is why you need to learn more abilities." He looked at the tiger "if you knew, Flame Breath, Flame Step, Flame Flicker you could easily move through the tornado." then the snake "Ice step, Ice chain, Frost walker."

"Those skills are only few of the hundred of thousands of skills in this world. You need to start learning."

"Tiger you need to start running with your feet ignited with fire. Go ahead, start now. This Will help you learn Flame Step."

The tiger confused but followed Leon's instructions and ran ahead.

Leon said to the snake on his head "I need you to learn a special skill. You know that you have two elemental types right? Frost and Ghost." The snake nodded. "You are probably the first beast ever to have a Ghost type and be a contract beast." The snake was happily surprised, one more thing to gloat over the tiger.

"All Ghost type beast live in another dimension. The Other Realm. It is basically the same as this dimension, where everything in the surrounding such as buildings, mountains and oceans is the same. It is made of Other energy while this dimension is made of Real energy. It overlaps with this dimension which we are in now, called the Real Realm. However the beings of the other realm and the real Realm cannot interact with each other."

The snake was confused. "Basically for all we know we could be standing inside a ghost beast in the other realm. But we clearly aren't on the real Realm."

"So ghost beast are impossible to contract, as not only do they not have a corporeal body to form a contract with, we can't even interact with them."

Snake didn't believe Leon how did he even know of Ghost beast then?

"There are skills that can let you see in the Other Realm, although you can't change anything. But most of this information came from beast like Dragons."

Now the snake was interested. It had the bloodline of a Dragon so it wanted to know more.

"Dragons have a unique speices skill when they grow strong enough they will learn it naturally. It is called Immortal Soul."

Leon and the snake reach the volcano. The tiger stood there tired. Leon called it over. Then they all went down to the surface level of the volcano.

"It doesn't look like anyone was here. The Phoenix should sense us and come up. So let's set camp here."

Leon took out some food he had bought on the way. The Beast and Leon formed a circle. The snake urged it to continue.
