Overcoming The Beast

"The skill immortal soul allows the Dragon to be killed but not die."

The Beast were now confused. The tiger had heard the end of the talk when Leon was coming here.

"You see you can go and cut the head of a Dragon and it would die. But unlike other beast the Dragon's soul would go through space and enter the Other Realm. Over there it will remember everything from its life in the Real realm. It can then uniquely reform a body through absorbing energy. This will then allow it come back to life!"

Both beast were amazed the snake felt proud. It thought I will be able to do that in the future.

"Obviously this doesn't happen instantly it takes thousands of years of absorbing energy. So you can kill a Dragon and live peacefully for a while. So dragons who have gone through this process have written about it. And multiple Clans that have worshipped Dragons also know of all of this."

"What makes you special from all beast isn't that you can learn Ghost type abilities, all beast can learn those. We in the real world can absorb Ghost energy ever so slightly from the other realm. But you should be able to learn a completely unique skill that no other living beast can learn since it requires the ghost element which no other living beast can get."

"The skill I want you to learn is called Ghost Form. Something all Ghost Beast know when they are born. But since you are clearly a semi-ghost beast you didn't learn it. Ghost Form is a skill that moves the beast from the real world to the other world."

The snake looked at Leon skeptically. Thinking, didn't you say earlier living things couldn't come in contact with the unliving.

"Ghost Form, well for Ghost beast isn't that big of a deal. It is the form they live in. They can't come out of it. But you see as the first corporeal Ghost beast you. You can now be a path connecting the real Realm to the other realm. I want you to learn Ghost Form by working on your Ghost element."

The snake wanted to learn the skill badly. It looked at Leon wondering what should it do.

"Maybe try to find the Ghost energy in yourself and try to control. The NetherWorld ice contains trace amounts of Ghost energy try comprehending it. You will be able to absorb the Ghost energy from the other realm as it exists everywhere."

The snake nodded then jumped onto Leon's head. It then closed its eyes and wrapped up. Leon gave it a piece of NetherWorld ice that it kept in its mouth and started comprehending the secrets behind it.

A cry resounded. The Phoenix finally reached them. The egg floated above the magma.

"Buddy these guys next to me are your friends. You should already know them but I never introduced them. This is fire tiger and the other is Frost snake."

The tiger went up like a soldier and saluted the egg. The snake also stopped cultivating and gestured to the egg on something that looked like a bow. A Phoenix cry ran through the two beast.

Leon went to the egg and hugged the it "I came to see you so soon is because I'll be leaving for some time. I probably won't be able to come to see you. So I wanted to tell you to practice hard. Try your best to hatch. And also since I'll be leaving I want you to go as deep as you can in the volcano. Making sure to hide your Aura. There are many strong cultivators in this world do not underestimate them. That goes for you two as well."

"Good bye." The Phoenix cried one last time and sunk back into the magma.

Leon and the beast climbed out. "The walk will be far, Tiger we'll be riding you there."

Leon then jumped on to its back. "Now run. Make sure to cover your claws in fire."

The tiger listened to Leon and ran. In the direction Leon pointed.

On top of the Tiger Leon started cultivating with the snake. He started practicing the Ice art he had gotten from the clan.

He had already reached the peak of the first of the three levels he had. The first level was called Ice Manifestation. Most arts usually have 'Manifestation' as their first level. It helped the cultivators form objects, though simple, from the type of energy. Second level was called Ice Control. The third level was a purifying level.

Leon gave the snake another piece of NetherWorld ice as he ate one himself. He quickly broke through to the second level of the art.

The tiger felt relaxed as Leon was like an Ice pack on it's back in this scorching heat.

Leon then continued to cultivate as he thought.

"This art I'm familiar with it. This should be the Mystic Ice art from the Mystic Ice Sect on the Ice continent. This was hailed as the best art to cultivate the foundation of ice as it had ten levels. Five building levels and five enforcing levels. It has three purification levels that are included in the enforcing levels. Which is really rare to be seen in any of the arts below heaven rank. The energy produced is much purer then normal earth rank arts."

The art also allowed the cultivators to form Mystic Ice when cultivated completely. Mystic ice was a special kind of ice like NetherWorld ice. However it was much weaker. It was more of a basic type of ice that didn't excel in any particular way. NetherWorld ice after its chilling coldness its main effects were a strong frost poison and a unique mental suppression. Mystic ice was good for a solid foundation however, helped in being able to form other types of Ice like the Netherworld ice.

"I'll have to go to the mystic ice sect to get the complete art. With it the Frost snake will be able to learn the NetherWorld ice faster.

Leon then dug his mind for more information "I remember when mastering this art, it is able to form into three possible runes."

Mystic storm, for those with low mastery and talent. Mystic blizzard, for those with complete mastery and high talent. And there was a new rune that had been discovered in a decade of so. A disciple of the Mystic Ice Sect with high talent gets the ability called Mystic Ice Beast's Roar.

Ice beast's roar was a unique ability. Research was done on it. As people knew how to get the ability now more people started getting it. It was different for every beast. I remember the first disciple to get the ability was a member of the SnowFairy Clan. Her beast was an Ice Wyvern. It learned the Mystic Ice Wyvern's Roar.

However it wasn't the power of the ability that caught Leon's attention. Leon had faught the disciple and during there battle she had used not the Wyvern's Roar, but a Dragon's roar. This made Leon want the ability. All abilities with the word 'Dragon' in them are called Dragon Magic. They are much stronger then normal abilities as they use Dragon energy one of the strongest energies.

Leon broke through his summoner cultivation.

"I have reached level five of Summoning apprentice." The amount of Soul energy had increased and he had finally refined all his energy bringing it back to high purity as it was before he forcefully broke through using the resources.

Leon made the tiger stop and rest. It was sunset, and they had been running since early morning. So Leon planned to camp for a while.

He set up a fire and the tiger laid down, exhausted. Leon gave it some NetherWorld ice, then the snake and himself. He then have it some food.

"You did well today. Let's measure the progress we all made today."

Leon went first he used the Ice art to form a sword. It was a clear blue and white ice with a thin line of purple at the center. The purple had some odd blue ice around it.

Leon smashed the sword into the ground it exploded into a snow storm with very light wails of ghost that only he could hear.

Leon wasn't surprised the outside was normal ice, the odd blue was Nascent mystic ice, an incomplete version of Mystic Ice he just formed after cultivating the ice art. The Purple ice was NetherWorld ice. His ice energy had gained the NetherWorld energy when he was in the cave getting the snake egg.

He then asked the snake to form a sphere of ice. The sphere was similar to his ice on the outside, it however had a more prominent purple and didn't have the odd blue.

"Your talent is amazing as expected. You already comprehend NetherWorld Ice to a higher degree. I can see the progress you made in a day. If you continue at this pace by the time you eat all the NetherWorld Ice you'll evolve to a NetherWorld Frost snake. A beast of Five voidstars talent." The snake acted like everything Leon said was obvious.

"Tiger show me how much you improved."

The tiger ran with its claws on fire. It jumped into the air and fell down slowly.

"Good. You are actually talented in leg skills. You made great progress today. Soon you'll be running through the sky on fire."
