Overcoming The Beast

He walked down the streets until he found a deserted alley. It wasn't hard as almost everybody had left the city to see what happened.

"It's time to go to the Bloodling clan."

With a movement he changed his appearance and jumped into a nearby sewer. He disguised as the Bloodling Clan member he killed on the island.

The sewer had a path built in it. Leon walked a long way through it, he didn't know the layout so all he could do was map it out himself until he found what he was looking for.

Finally he finds a ladder. He climbed up hiding his presence, he lightly held the lid up and with a swift movement jumped out while placing the lid back back on. He hid in a corner.

"I should be in the Bloodling clans secret bas.e.m.e.nt." He walked up the stairs leading out.

He reached a dead end. A brick wall was at the end of the stairs. Leon didn't falter. He knew that on the other side was the library of the Bloodling, where he wanted to go.

He summoned the Blood Sparrow and had it slowly cut a hole small enough for him to peak through. The Blood Sparrow used the Blood Orbs to cut a hole.

He had the Frost snake sit to the side and use stealth to hide.

The library was big, with stacks of books lining the walls hundreds of shelves filled to the brim. However it was empty other than the librarian only ten other people could he seen. Lein could tell that only one of the ten had a high cultivation. Luckily it was the one furthest from him.

He made the Blood Sparrow cut even a bigger whole at the bottom of the wall. After which he unsummoned it. He squeezed through the hole and used Formless aura to hide himself.

All three people were alone and busy reading so he had the snake use stealth and strangle on the most secluded person.

After knocking him out he stripped the person of there clothes and dressed in them. He used formless aura to change his appearance as him and stuffed the unconscious man into the hole in the wall. He had the Frost snake watch his body.

While everyone was busy, he walked up to a book, flipped through it and placeed the book back into the shelf. He does over and over with different books until he finally finds it.

On the other side of the shelf he picks up a black book. Seeing it Leon was sure this was the book he wanted. He looked at a few other books. He found two he was interested in, 'basics of Blood magic' and 'How to use Blood Absorb efficiently'. He sandwiched the black book between the others.

He went to the librarian and then asked to borrow the books.

The librarian stopped reading and looked at Leon for a while. "What books do you want to borrow."

Leon acted a bit pressurised by the Librarians gaze. He assumed this is how this person would react. He didn't have much to work with so he went with whatever just came naturally.

"I would like these b-books." And placed them on the desk.

The librarian spoke "Oh? you are actually going to borrow something for once, you know low clan members will have thier clan token confiscated if they don't return it in three days."

"Yes." Leon replied timidly.

"Yet your still borrowing three?" The librarian looks at Leon as he took Leon's stolen clan token and stamped it three times on some scroll.

"Yes! I may not be talented in cultivation but I'm a fast reader." Leon looked to have used all his energy to build some confidence to say that.

The librarian noded and gave him the books.

Leon goes back to the table the boy was sitting on earlier. He sat down and started to read the books. The librarian looked at him weirdly 'Why did he borrow the books if he was going to read here?' but didn't bother to say anyhing as it was none of her business.

Leon was currently thinking about how to escape.

"I don't think I can walk out through the front gate. Most clans have a rule stopping members from leaving the clan with borrowed books, it was to stop the loss of books if the member was killed outside."

"I guess I'll have to leave the same way I came in."

Leon froze an end of the string to a Bookshelf nearby. He made it look like he dropped something. The string was the same string he had gotten from the Sunset auction house a while back.

He then went back to the place he entered from unrolling the string slowly as he entered the hole. The hole was in a covered place. As he stood in front acting like he was looking for more books to read. A man entered the library.

He shouted "All Clan members are to assemble at the Clan hall! The Blood Emperor's Arena Has collapsed to the ground. Everyone with cultivation is to go in teams and scavenge for items."

The ten people were surprised.

"What? The floating island collapsed. Scary, isn't it as big as this whole city?"

"I think it was twice the size of the city."

As people discussed the Librarian got up and said "All of you go the Library is closed."

Leon had already entered the hole when the man entered. He felt his distraction plan had gone to waste but he didn't feel like wasting it.

He pulled the string through the cracks of the cut after he placed the block he had cut out back. He made the Frost snake freeze the block in place from every where other than the place the string entered from to hold it in place.

Leon then carried the unconscious man with him into the sewers until the roll of string had finished. He dropped the man and Summoned the Blood Bird to kill him and absorb his blood. As he took his spatial ring.

"Now it will be hard for the scent of corpse to reach them."

He then with the help of the Blood Bird and Frost snake; both had grabbed the string with their mouths. Pulled the string back.

In the library the the string suddenly tensed and with crack the ice holding it shattered. However the goal was achieved. The Whole shelve tilted over and fell on the other, like dominoes until the shelf was about to fall on the person with the high cultivation he stood up and stopped it.

Everyone was mainly at the door. They were all surprised by the sudden ruckus.

The room was filled with dust and the Librarian looked furious summoned a Blood Spirit Fairy that used Spirit magic to carry the shelves and place the books back. She then ran to the high level cultivator.

"Sorry Elder Fuller, I don't know who would pull such a prank, but don't worry I will find them and bring them to you, for you decide on what there punishment should be."

"No need, Just clean everything up and just tell me who caused it after you find out who it is. Right now the island collapsing is more important."

The man then turned walked away. The Liberian bowed and waited until he left to stand up. She then flared up.

"Which idiot of the Clan caused this, don't think I won't have your hands chopped off when I find you!"

She then stormed out completely not noticing the disappearance of Leon.
