Overcoming The Beast

Reaching the Inn wasn't a challenge Leon did it quickly. He had to make sure he was their before Pace and the others came back. He was sure if Pace was alive he would come to check on him.

In his room he summoned the Blood Sparrow. He didn't get time to really experience its change.

"You aren't a Blood Sparrow anymore. You're a King Crystal Blood Sparrow. A variant king type beast."

The sparrow was impressed. A king beast that sounded nice.

"Oddly enough you didn't go through change species just reached the peak of your current one. Your Bloodline is pretty strong. It restricted the evolution for a later time."

The sparrow just agreed.

Leon talked with the Sparrow a bit more and see if he could figure out all its changes. When he he had found all of them he stopped.

"I have something for you."

Leon took out the book, it was completely black, and the cover was blurred, only a few pages in the book were actually legible but they were an unknown language.

"the Bloodling clan really made a loss today! They clan head would probably cry himself to sleep for a year if he found out how the rise of his clan was stopped." Leon said to himself as he laughed feeling the schadenfreude.

"This book was found in another decade or so. With it the Bloodling Clan became the highest ranked clan. This book is a one of its kind beast weapon. The book Particularly is for Blood Magic using beast. Making it perfect for the blood bird. Although it will take time to fully incorporate it into becoming an innate beast weapon."

The book was the reason Leon had chosen the Blood Sparrow as his contract beast in the first place. Our of all the beast he could think of only this Blood Sparrow could make the most use of it.

As the book was shown to the Blood Sparrow, it started to chirp in happiness.

"First you need to learn Blood Magic or you won't be able to use it."

The sparrow fiercely nodded.

Leon took out the Book on basic blood magic. And started to read it. He didn't know much about Blood magic as he never really delved into it in his past life. He kept to the use of abilities.

Magic was a special category of abilities that could be used by beast. It used chants and magic circles to fight rather then the runes embedded in a beasts body. Almost all elements had magic abilities in them. However Leon didn't plan on anymore of his beast to learn it. The Blood Sparrow was an exception as he knew from its past life it was good at Blood energy manipulation making it perfect for Blood Magic.

The sparrow sat on Leon's shoulder and read with him.

"I see so that is what we have to do. Blood magic is just an evolved version of Blood control."

"This should be easy for you. With your affinity you'll get almost instantly." Leon said.

"I'll help you control the energy in your body you follow my lead." Leon placed a finger on it's forehead and closed his eyes. He controled the energy around the sparrow's body once but by the second time it followed by itself and got faster and faster.

"Okay now form a Blood Sword. Like the picture in the book."

Red energy came from the surrounding and formed a short sword. It was weak and didn't holding substance to it.

"Good" Leon said. As a first try this was already amazing.

The sword vaporized. Blood Magic allows you to control the energy in the environment to form spells. That was one of the most basic spells Blood Sword.

Leon looked at the Black book. This book will make its spells much stronger.

This book was created by a summoning beast with help of the Bloodling Anscetor- the royal blood mage that worked for the Blood emperor. The beast, Bloodless Witch was born with a mutation that stopped it from having Blood energy in its body so it wrote this book and enchanted the words. With it you can easily cast spells much faster and stronger. It can also store large amount of energy making it very powerful.

The Blood ancestor also helped and wrote in spells he knew. However the best part is that the Blood Emperor is said to have baptised the book and personally written in a spell as well.

Leon only knew about two peak spells that helped the Bloodling Clan progress immensely. One was Multi-cast and the other was Bloodport.

Multi-cast was obvious on what it was. It allowed the caster to cast multiple spells at once while Bloodport was a spell the witch created copying spatial teleportation. It allows the caster to teleport to anywhere in a five kilometer range instantly.

Leon had seen its use during the war. At that time he was young and had been really impressed by the skill.

This book used to be a complete encyclopedia of hundreds of spells at it's peak. Now it had grown old and many spells were lost.

The book's real use was the fact it could store spells and grow with beast. With this the Blood Sparrow could add its own spells to it. If Leon had it earlier he probably could have absorbed all the Dragon energy in the Dragon core in one go.

"Let's now contract the book to become your natal Beast weapon."

Leon placed the book down and had the sparrow transfer most of its energy into the book. He also gave his Blood energy to the sparrow.

Leon then plucked a ruby feather and let the book absorb it.

The feather sunk into the book and like dye spilled in water the color spread out and the book changed from black to a deep ruby color.

The book shrunk and floated infront of the Blood Sparrow.

"Open it and see what spells are inside."

Leon sat with bird and flipped through the book.

With a sigh he said "a bit disappointing other than the two peak spells there are only ten other spells. The rest have either been torn out or the writing had faded."

"It has Blood Sword, Blood blade, Blood Spear, Blood Chains and Blood Shield. There are two really long chants written which I imagine is the two peak spells. The rest I can't really read, my comprehension of Blood Magic is too low."

"Let's add a spell shall we" Lin Feng said to the Bird.

It then opens to an blank page where the writing faded. The Blood Sparrow pointed with its wing and started to write in a weird language much different to what the spells were written in before.

Lin Feng's eyes sparkled "Dragon tongue is truly beautiful. Just looking at it I was almost mesmerized."

It took a while and the Blood Sparrow wrote a long chant. It was even a bit longer than the two peak level spells.

"Dragon slaying magic really is strong. This spell should be called the Blood Dragon's wrath."

The Sparrow finished writing the spell it has learned in the Blood Emperor's Arena's core. The book then slammed shut and had a magic circle around it. It was sunk into the sparrows body.

The book had now completely recognised the Sparrow as the owner. Leon let the Sparrow play with it for a while. Seeing that Pace hadn't come to him it was his turn to find Pace.
