Overcoming The Beast

Chapter 60 - Fairy Ice city

Leon entered the city. This was going to be his first populated city. Unlike the deserted Bloodsea city, the Fairy Ice City was one of the more popular cities. Although it was one of the more recluse cities of the ice continent, as it was quite far from other civilisations. This was one of the reasons why the Blood Ice city was easily owned by the Bloodling family, no one really fought them for the land.

Fairy Ice City was more of an artisans city known for its beauty and fancy architecture. Buildings of emotional strength telling long winded stories through old stained glass windows and and cubistic buildings of impossiblity.

Buildings were built in swirls and twirls. Breaking the laws of physics. Reaching high into the sky. Buildings tall weren't of regular but three stories weren't a trend. They all led to a fanatical image of mystic blue and the constant snow filled atmosphere to have more then just beauty and tranquility. But a human effect of hard work and warmth. Although no warm fires and smoke filled chimneys were found. The closely built buildings and the welcoming atmosphere of this oddly yet closely knit society made one forget the chilling winds spreading through the alleys .

After paying the guards a few gold Leon walked in with the Frost Tiger into the city. Almost everyone on that street turned to look at him. His torn and worn out clothes made him stand out. Leon hadn't even noticed this until now.

He ignored the gazes and made his way through. It didn't take Long to find the best inn in the city, Fairy's Nest.

He entered and said "I'd like a room, for how any days I'm not sure but I'll pay for the maximum days I can stay."

The man who was spoken too judged Leon. With his torn and worn out clothes he didn't look like he had much money.

"Can you afford-"

Leon took out the prices he remembered from his last life.

"This should be enough for a month."

The man was genuinely surprised. A month in the inn cost around a hundred thousand gold and Leon took it like nothing.

"This is the key to your room." He didn't say much. He still didn't take Leon as much in his eyes.

Leon was also unbothered. He went up and found his. It didn't take Long to fall on his bed. The tiger layed on the ground next to him.

"Since we're here we should make way to the Mystic Ice Sect until the Frost Snake evolves. Let's also not forget the biggest reason I came here the- dream beast." The tiger nodded it needed the beast soon.

"It isn't far, we should start going it'll take about a week."

Leon then got up and left. He didn't do many preparations as he knew the Fairy Ice City didn't much to offer. After leaving the room he didn't take any stops. With the Snake's evolution he had forgotten about the chimera.

"Is my memory degrading? How could I forget something." He blamed it on having to many things on his mind and traveled to another place in the winter wonderland.

The chimera removed the disguise and walked with Leon to a place called the Devil's Tundra. Although the name sounded ominous it wasn't that dangerous. Other then the frequent holes in the ground that were infinitely deep it didn't have much to show.

The Devil's Tundra wasn't to far with Leon's and the Incomplete Evil chimera's speed they reached it in a few days.

The area wasn't special. Just a plain of flat snow to the horizon. Nothing could be seen on it.

"We are here. This is where you will find the Dream beast."

Now the Dream beast Leon was looking for was a Icy Dream Hellion. A seven voidstar beast. It's cultivation should be of around high orangestar level.

"It should be in one of the holes..." Leon said looking at the perfectly white plain. The chimera also looked at Leon skeptically.

"I know follow me." Leon ran on the plain of snow he didn't seem to have a direction as he kept changing which way he was moving. Finally reaching a spot.

"Here the beast is in front of us." Leon said as he pointed at a perfectly flat piece of land. chimera already thought Leon was going crazy. It couldn't see anything in front of it, much less a bottomless hole.

Leon took out the chain and scythe. He gripped his feet or the ground and spun that chain. At a reasonable speed he threw the scythe at the end of the chain at the snow. It just sunk into it. The chain still reeled in so The scythe was clearly moving in deeper.

The chimera finally believed Leon it moved back a few steps.

The snow infinite of Leon and the chimera suddenly lowered a level to show the outline of a five hundred meter diameter circle.

Leon pulled the scythe back. As soon as it came out of the snow all the snow fell. A hole was left. Sunlight could not reach the bottom. It was infinitely deep.

The tiger walked up and used Its paw to see if it was real. After making sure it's paw could go in, it had to accept it.

"The Beast is inside. Let's go!" Leon picked up the chimera and jumped in.

The chimera didn't really know what to do. It held tightly to Leon hopping he knew a way to survive.

They both fell in the hole. The world was of darkness and isolation. You could not tell which direction was up or down. After falling for so long it eventually felt like they weren't falling any more. Rather they were just floating.

Leon held the chimera tightly.

"Now use your ability." It formed a magic cicle under its body. Although also black it had a white outline making it visible. The Lotus formed on its paws. It turned to Leon wondering now what should it do.

"You see, we were never falling." Leon said with a smile. He then took out the Fire Sealing Chain. "We were just transported into a dream."

The chimera nodded it did feel like something was different. When it had put its hand into the whole its sin energy had reacted to tell it there was a high amount of energy here. It should be the Dream world they were in.

"The Icy Dream Hellion should be watching us. It might even be in front of us." Leon said pointing. "The Icy Dream Hellion is still young so it isn't as destructive as an a.d.u.l.t one yet. It should be close by, I want you to find it using sin energy."

Leon let the chimera go. The chimera walked on the Black and grey Lotus of energy. It moved around making sure to focus on the point Leon had pointed at. It knew Leon wouldn't point for no reason. Leon always had a way of figuring things out even if the situation was impossible.

It finally felt energy. It used Its sin energy to form the out line of a beast. The silhouette formed. The Beast was octopus like with eight. It was big. The biggest beast the chimera had ever seen. After assuring its position the chimera walked on the Lotus back to Leon.

Leon was still stood there with his hands folded. The Chimera and Leon talked through soul vibrations. Leon nodded in the darkness. He formed a rune. It was simple sealing formation and stuck it on to the scythe of the chain.

Leon spun the Chain. He could also sense the Icy Dream Hellion through the chimera's senses.
