Overcoming The Beast

Chapter 73 - Ice Empress

Leon left the Cold Dome and went back to his home in the sect. Today had been an adventure he hadn't been expecting.

Remebering the Dragon had called the Cold Dome the second strongest, Leon couldn't help but asking what the strongest was.

"The strongest energy came from the south of where we were standing." The snake replied as it sat on Leon's head.

"That should be the Snow Dome. It had stronger energy then the alter?"

The Dragon nodded.

"I can't enter it normally. I'll leave for my mission. If I complete five high ranked mission's the sect should give me a day pass to any of the Domes."

The next day he made his way out of the Sect and back to Fairy Ice city through the airship. He rode the Cold Mist Ghost Dragon after leaving Fairy Ice city and reached Silent hill quite quickly.

He was here for the Frozen Silent fruit. The hardest part of this mission was finding the fruit in silent hill.

Silent hill was a snow forest. It was covered with frozen and dead trees.

With the Dragon the search was easy. It found the fruit and Leon obtained it. It was more of an errand than anything.

Leon returned to sect and gave in the fruit to complete his mission.

Similarly Leon spent another two weeks completing mission. He made sure to slow down his pace because he couldn't be too fast.

He did all five high rank mission's he needed.

The mission's were mainly kill so and so beast or find so and so fruit. With the Dragon they were easy.

Leon got his one day pass and happily went towards the Snow Dome.

"I'm still on level three summoning teacher. I need to breakthrough soon."

Showing the pass Leon was allowed in. The Dome was just an empty snow filled room. It had constant snow falling from the sky. Occasional snowflakes would also appear.

Leon had the Dragon guide him to where it felt the strong energy. The Snake didn't bother transforming, the Snow Dome that big, it just pointed Leon to the right direction.

"Underneath here there is a source of Ice energy."

"Really? I don't feel anyhting", said Leon as he looked at the snowy and hard ground. He stamped his feet and made sure there was no passage way or hollowness in the ground.

Leon then formed a shovel of Ice and used it to dig in to the ground. He used the ability he had gotten by the Dragon Blood baptism to create it with ice energy.

After digging until his while bogey was in the hike, he finally found something. It was a crystal ice necklace. It had an Ice diamond as a pendant. A beautifully crafted white chain. Made from Frozen gold.

Leon recognised the material instantly. These were rather rare. An Ice diamond was a clear and beautiful, crystalline stone. It was ornamental and didn't have much help in cultivation. Although it was known to be one of the most soothing stones to look at. Frozen gold was just an uncommon form of gold found in the Ice Continent. It was silvery and had an icy coat.

"Is this the source of the energy?"

"It should be. There seems to be something in that diamond."

Leon held the diamond to his eye and tried to see if he could find something of value. He then started moving it around to see it from different angles. He held it up to see the it from the bottom, as he did this light entered it, and like a prism splitting light into colours it split it into writing on the ground.

Leon read the message.

"My dearest sister Ophelia, when you read this message it means you have finally woken up and figured out all the clues. I have long since left the Ice Continent. The Blood Emperor has gotten rowdy, he has started to send assassins. Eric and I will be going to speak with him. However Elaine has told me that if I leave, I won't be returning. Knowledge of predictions can usually change the future, so don't worry too much. As a backup, I have decided to leave back my inheritance in six parts. This is my inheritance of Snow I left for you. Use it to rise in cultivation and protect yourself until I come back."

"The Ice Empress should have left this message. This should be before she left for the Blood continent." Leon pulled the diamond back in front of himself.

The Ice Empress was the Last Summoing Emperor on the ice continent ever to appear. Although other cultivators were given the title Emperor none were true emperors. She was alive at the same time as the Blood Emperor. That era had been called the Emperor Era as many emperors appeared and cultivation flourished. Now it has been hundreds of years until the last summoning emperor has died, ending the era then.

"So this is the Snow Inheritance. I wonder what it contains. Dragon can you tell?"

The Dragon responded "There is something sealed inside. That should be the the high energy source. But the seal is too hard to break, so this is useless to us."

"She said there were six of these. You couldn't sense the rest it can only meant the rest have already been taken."

"But what's really interesting is that she went to the Blood Continent. I don't know which Emperor killed that Blood Emperor but it could be her." Leon paused for a second, "Now that I think about it that cave I found the Frost Snake was also made of ice. Maybe she was injured after the fight and so hid to to recover."

Leon felt like he was on to something. He reached in his spatial ring and took out a book. This was a book he had stolen from the Bloodling Clan's library with the maps. It was a list of primal and contract beast of the Past emperors.

Leon flipped through and found the Ice Empress "Her name was Ulva, primal beast was the Frost Crowned Peac.o.c.k, a beast that had reached eleven voidstar potential."

"From her seven contract beast, she had an Everlasting NetherWorld Ice Crane."

"That seals it, she was the one at the cave, so she left the Frost Snake egg? Impossible! it would have long since hatched."

Leon started coming up with a theory. And he felt like that he might have figured out something that could ruin all his plans.
