Overcoming The Beast

Leon was already expecting the Puppet was going to summon the other two beasts: It never said it would use one beast. However he hoped it would do it when he was close to defeating the Capricorn.

"Me and my big mouth! When did I get so talkative in fights?"

Leon took a deep breath and looked at the conditions. It was already hard to fight three vs one. Now it was two vs three.

"I'll need you two to go all out now." The Dragon agreed. The Chimera didn't reply.

The Chimera started the second round. It took a step forward and the Lotus started to Bloom above it again. Then another Lotus, much bigger then the one above it grew out from underneath it. Both Lotus Bloomed.

The Capricorn wanted it to destroy the Lotus before it bloomed as it already knew it was strong. It wasn't as effected but the other two beast would be. As it teleported so did the Dragon. It appeared in front of the Capricorn and tried to keep it busy.

The Lotus bloomed and a gray energy layered out, is was a type seven deadly sin energy- pride energy. All the beast in the area felt weaker. Even Leon and the Dragon.

Leon whispered "A Pride domain. It even effects the summoner."

The Chimera looked stronger. It had grown larger and had black energy blazing on its body. It's whole body had also changed from the colours of gray, blue and purple to Black.

The two newly summoned beast were completely hypnotized by that Lotus. The Capricorn was busy fighting the Dragon. Whem ever it tried to teleport forward that Dragon would force it to retreat.

The chimera disappeared. A large bloody wound appeared on the whale. It went across its whole body.

The whale whistled in pain. Its icy body had cracks on it. It then fell to the ground. The Chimera appeared back to its position with a bloody claw. The black energy dissipated and so did the domain. It Licked its bloody paw and cleaned itself.

Now it was the puppets turn to be surprised. "Oh? you had such a card up your sleeve?"

Leon had no clue the Chimera could do that. He felt more frightened internally but externally kept it cool. "Now I've beaten one of your beast. Let me enter the next round."

The puppet thought for a moment. It then nodded, "very well enter this door to the next round." It waved its hand and a portal appeared.

Leon and his beast stared at the Puppet while scoffing. "You're not meant to test the candidates are you?"

The puppet laughed "How'd you know?"

"The fact you were using beast that are impossible to beat was already a give away. Now you make a fake portal, it's quite obvious."

Leon smiled and said "You should be the soul of a cultivator that got trapped in the Puppet. Looks like you plan on getting your body back and I'm perfect for the pick."

"You're smart! I can see why you have such strong beast. You shouldn't be the original soul of the body. How about you help a brother out? I'll let you go and you get me a body."

"Fine."

"Great! sign this soul contract." The puppet pulled out a contract.

Leon was already expecting it. He caught the contract and made sure it was real. After checking the conditions he sneered.

"I have three years to get you a body that meets your standards and if I fail you get mine?" The on laughed at the condition.

"Fine, but I will add my own conditions. The standards will only be something I agree to. You have to let me go through all your memories."

The puppet started to cough "Isn't that a bit much!" It saw Leon smiling and thought I don't really have anything to lose. "So right but there should be a limit to how low the quality the body can be. They should be at least half as talented as you."

Now it was Leon's turn to lower the conditions "Woah, woah! You want me to find Heaven's favourite with the potential to become emperors. Aren't you asking a bit much? All of them have their whole continent protecting them. I'll help you with the body of a Clan's inheritor."

"Very well."

The puppet walked to Leon and they both signed the contract together.

"Now go." The puppet said.

"Aren't you forgetting something."

The puppet took out a crystal from a spatial ring it had. It put it to its head and then gave it to Leon.

"That's all my memories."

Leon nodded and unsummoned his beast. He walked through the portal and entered a new area. He was out of the Mystic Ice Plane and back in the Sect.

It was filled with Mystic Clan disciples who seemed to be waiting for something. When Leon entered, a stage lit up and the elder who had greeted everyone in the main hall appeared.

"Now the last of you has appeared I must say- Well done! You all have passed the first two rounds! The first round was to test your affinity and conviction. The second was to test your battle prowess against a five voidstar beast."

Leon wasn't drinking anything but if he was he would have spat it out. "Five voidstar? I was fighting beast close to ten voidstars!" He however kept that in his head.

"You all will be ranked and given an award. The Mystic Ice competition is over however the selection process isn't. In a month the third round will begin start preparing."

The elder then walked off. Another person wearing an elders robe walked up. He was much younger.

"This is your ranking and award, go to the Clan shop to redeem it." The man snapped his fingers and an Ice wall appeared on the stage. It had names written on it. The man then left.

Leon read through. The first name said Nova IceFaerie and the prize a Soul stone. He saw Clementine, Ivy and Julius in the top twenty. There about a hundred names and his name was ranked fifty.

"It's because I came last in the second round while first in the first round."

Leon didn't bother staying he went out to find Nova. He was going to steal the soul stone.

After searching the Sect he found her house. Leon used Formless aura and snuck in. No one was inside. "She'll have to return soon, I might as well wait. I'll then take the soul stone from her spatial ring."

Leon was sure she would have when she returned. With the third round in a month she would have to start cultivating now with soul stone. Also no one else would think of stealing. The sect was strict on its rules. If they figured out you stole they would kill you on the spot. Leon had decided he was leaving the Sect after getting the stone so he didn't care.

Leon hid in her house patiently. He Waited around five hours when he heard someone enter.

It was Nova smiling while holding a box. She turned on the lights to her house and laughed as she kept the box on the table.

Leon also move silently ready to steal it.

"Only for a Soul stone I got a Love Potion! So cheap! Now I can make sure Julius will love me. After that Leon had beat him he was so sad and I almost couldn't bear it. Now that Leon came in fiftieth while my Julius came in sixteenth! He was so happy he even hugged me!" Nova said it with so much cheer and delight Leon honestly felt like he heard wrong.

"Did she just say she bought a Love Potion with the soul stone?" Leon had been hiding up on the ceiling. He fell down grabbed Nova and threw her to the ground. He formed to ice knives and held them to her neck. His slaughter qi was also released.

"You bought something worth hundred gold with something priceless, and you're still happy? Tell me who you sold it to."

Nova was too scared but instinctively responded. "To an old lady out side the Sect!"

"Whats her name and where outside the Sect?"

"Near the snowy hills and I don't know her name."

Leon got up. He picked up the Love Potion and smashed it into the ground. Looking at it angered Leon. His soul stone was lost for something so worthless; he could create one easily with the materials. He had already wasted time in the competition now he had to chase after the soul stone. His Phoenix egg could have been stolen by now!

It was already night and he didn't care anymore about the Sect: the soul stone was outside now. Leon summoned the Cold Mist Ghost Dragon and had it take him to the snowy hills.

It took Leon and entered Ghost Form. Many elders had already run to appeared near Nova's house. Because of the Slaughter qi and Nova sending a help message. They however didn't seem Leon leave.

They found Nova on the floor crying as she watched a shattered glass bottle of some type of liquid.

"Miss Nova what happened? We came as soon as we got the alert."

"Leon tried to steal the soul stone. I told him I didn't have it. So he tried to kill me! but he saw that I had already alerted the Clan so he ran."

"Leon did this? we were about to find him any way. His family name, Glaceria, does not exist."

"Everyone find Leon and treat him as spy."

All the elders and soldiers nearby acknowledged the order and ran of to find Leon and tell the Sect.

Somewhere far from the Sect, Leon was riding the Dragon as he read an atlas he had taken from the Bloodling Clan. The snow hills should be there.

At the place Leon tried to sense for auras and presences with the Dragon.

"Someone was here, it was a cultivator of the dark element. Dragon can you sense where they went?"

The Dragon nodded and carried Leon to where the person went.
