Overcoming The Beast

The Dragon brought Leon to an abandoned house next to a river. The river was fast and cold.

"A house near the Flowing Ice river? I can see why its abandoned. No ice energy will reach the areas around it as all of its absorbed into river."

The flowing ice river was one of the most dangerous rivers on the continent. It flowed so fast no one could ride boats or sh.i.p.s in it. If Any one tried to swim in it they would be pushed in deep and never return.

Leon entered the house and the Dragon turned back into a snake to hide its aura. The house was abandoned. No was in any of the rooms. They all had been unused for years. Leon found a door to the bas.e.m.e.nt. It was less dusty and the door handle was clean.

"They should be downstairs."

Leon walked down and felt the smell of blood fill his lungs. The room was filled with hanging bodies of dead beast and humans. There chemicals and bottles everywhere. It looked like a combination of a laboratory and a meat freezer.

Leon saw someone sitting as they held something in their hand. They held up at eye level movement around to see it from all angles.

"Isn't it weird how something so cheap can be valuable to others." The person said.

"It is indeed. I want the soul stone." Leon said.

"But you just arrived! Come sit down, it seems you have a habit of coming uninvited."

Leon felt this person was a bit strange. He didn't who this person was yet they knew him.

"Are you wondering who I am? ask your Dragon friend on your head."

The Dragon was already alert when it entered. Hearing the person know it was a Dragon it figured things out quickly. It's body lit up and a rune appeared. The rune shattered.

Leon saw the rune and easily identified it "An all watching rune! why do you have that in your body?"

"That soul Dragon that attacked me hid it in my body. I couldn't sense it before as it was hidden and wasn't expecting it to be in my body. Sensing that person's aura I wasn't sure who but I knew I was familiar with it. When It said I was a Dragon I had to check my body for runes."

Leon was confused "You're telling me this person is the soul Dragon that attacked us."

The person responded. "Correct! It is me. Enough with the the chit chat. Leon you want this soul stone to say your Phoenix. While I want the body of your Dragon friend over there. How about we make a trade?"

"Old ghost you want to make a deal with me. How about you give me the soul stone and I'll happily leave. You should go back to forming your own body."

"Are you sure you don't want to agree?" The possessed person said.

"Just give me the soul stone." Leon looked around and made sure there was no traps.

The person spoke. "So sad. I would have even let you live I'd you had agreed." The person crushed the soul stone and fell.

"You-" Before Leon could say anything an explosion erupted.

Outside you could see a pillar of whit light to the sky. Everything in a kilometer radius to the house had been annihilated. A large hole in the ground was left.

The hole started to full with water as the icy river nearby broke into it.

There people who had been flying in Leon's direction.

"Elder Leon's clan token has been destroyed. Its seems like he was where that explosion was."

"Lets go and check. We have to make sure." The elder that had spoken to Nova replied.

They arrived to site of the cataclysmic explosion.

A few people dived in with their flying beast into the hole.

It took them a minute to return.

"Elder we checked inside there we found this torn cloth. It should be Leon's robe."

The elder took the robe and was sure the sects unique cloth.

"Since he's already dead, end his case. Let's go back to the Sect to report."

The group then flew away back to the sect on their beast.

In the other realm a large majestic Dragon sat on a cloud nearby watching. It sneered. "A bunch of weaklings. Looks like I let him of to easy... At least it was fun! Time to start planning how to mess with him next." It then flew away.

As for Leon he was inside the hole barely alive. His past life soul book was had summoned itself and protected him again.

In he water he felt the situation was similar to something he had experienced before. He felt like he was drowning in the water, weak and unable to swim. Something had come and carried him out. Yet that something wasn't coming this time.

Leon fainted in the water. The Cold Mist Ghost Dragon was also hit hard. But because of the Ice Heart it survived as well. It was in a better situation then Leon.

"It was my fault for being careless. So I have to make sure you survive." The Dragon thought. It wrapped around Leon's body and attempted to heal him in the icy waters.
