Overcoming The Beast

Chapter 96 - The Fourth Round

Leon sat on the white bed cultivating. The sky dark with try same moon hung above. The stars shone brightly in there constellations.

His eyes opened. "I finally reached the peak of the art." The Griffin nodded.

Leon formed the rune. He didn't make any changes as his lightning comprehension was to low. He stamped the rune into his body and it sunk in. He got and opened the window.

"I'll test it, you stay here." Leon put his foot on the window sill the disappeared with a Lightning silhouette. His feet were covered in lightning. He jumped high. Much higher then he could before. He then used the palace walk to jump higher. He reached the roof in a few steps. After enjoying the view Leon went back to his room.

The Griffin laid on the floor as it waited for Leon. "Let's cultivate through the Night. I should be able to from a few more tunes for the Lightning God's Armor."

Even cultivating the rest of the Night Leon wasn't able to from another rune, he was only half done with the one he started with. He stopped cultivating and the half done rune collapsed.

"I still can't from more tunes. I'll really have to increase my Lightning affinity."

His door was knocked on to. "Mister Leon you have been called to the Main hall. The fourth round will be announced."

Leon left for the Main hall. Over there he met up with Pace and Eos who ere already talking. They waved at Leon. Eos continued to tell about Harlan and what he taught her. Both Pace and Leon nodded. Pace was genuinely interested while Leon pretended to be.

"Now that you all have been given time to rest, it is the perfect for the fourth round to start. This will be held at the royal city that I'm sure all of you have heard of- Blacksmith City."

Many were interested. Hearing Blacksmith city the first thing that came to mind was brilliant weapons and art. Craftsmen of the greatest kind could be found in Blacksmith city.

"The airship is out side. Now go board it."

Leon, Pace and Eos boarded the air ship. As they walked around they saw Dwight, Clyde, Cesar and Anastasia already sitting. They sat at the empty seats next to them.

"How was the meeting with High Elder Harlan Ash?" Clyde asked the moment the three sat down.

"It was good. He told us a lot." Leon said simply.

"Good? It was great. He was singing praises when he was talking about Leon. Eos even became his official Disciple. It was amazing much he knew. He gave us all a path to follow and it was with so much detail."

The four were shocked hearing Eos was taken as a Disciple. Anastasia got off her seat and Hugged Eos, "Congratulations Eos! That's amazing! Look I told you that you would rise quickly. Even High Elder Harlan saw your talent. Come you have to tell me everything. Clyde switch seats with Eos."

Clyde adding argue. He switched.

The two girls started to talk while Cesar and Dwight listened. Adding some sentences in between.

Leon had Clyde sit next to him. He still had no idea who Clyde really was. He had almost forgotten about it. Leon, Pace and Clyde talked the rest of the travel.

The Airship landed and they were brought to a colossal building. Rather then tall it was mostly spread out vertically. It spread out to almost reaching the horizon.

There were twenty more airsh.i.p.s that had also landed. "Looks like things just got serious." Pace said as he saw people from the other airsh.i.p.s.

There were many strong auras. A Few people showed off there aura and walked arrogantly.

An elderly man spoke, "The fourth round will be a test on knowledge. All you have to do is answer the sheet. To pass to the next round you will need to score thirty points. Now go in and find a seat. You have two hours. Examiners will be watching so do not cheat or you will be disqualified from the competition. Your two hours start Now!"

The Seven ran into the building with everyone else. People used abilities to get ahead and find a seat. Leon ran with the group.

Everyone quickly found a seat. There were around six thousand people here but the hall was big enough to hold them all.

They found a seat around middle way through. Some one tried to force some one off their seat but were Disqualified for seeing the other persons paper. Everyone saw that and just found other seats.

Leon looked at the paper and easily answered the questions. The pen in his hand didn't stop moving. He answered the questions to a level the was to be expected from a smart cultivator at his age. The questions were about beasts and heavenly material. There was also some on evolving beast.

Leon reached question thirty and felt the question just sky rocketed in difficulty. It was something he knew but didn't expect much others to know. He flipped through the rest of the paper and saw the next seventy questions all were much difficult then before.

Leon looked around the hall. He saw other people were doing the same. Some had continued writing, the question was hard not impossible. It didn't take Long and now most people in the hall didn't know the answer to the other seventy one questions. They needed thirty points to pass, so they had to answer another question.

People started to wing it. They felt they would get something right in those seventy one questions. Other didn't like winging they only saw cheating as an option. They just had to figure how to do it as secretly as possible.

Leon formed a disguise rune and used it to have all his answered changed to fake ones. He then continued to finish the seventy one questions.

Around sixty percent of the six thousand people weren't able to answer question thirty.

People started cheating. Seem to have already thought of a way to secretly communicate. They flashed light at each other to speak.

Others tapped there pens and talked through that.

Some had abilities that let them see the papers of the other people next to them even she they were far apart.

A few people secretly summoned their beast and had it enter stealth and tell them the answers.

Time ticked by and the two hours ended.

A man's voice could be heard. "Your papers have been marked. Your score will appear on each paper. Any one with a green score can move on to round five."

Leon saw his score was a hundred in green. He took it and left for the door. Many people failed and were disappointed.

Pace, Eos, Dwight, Cesar, Clyde and Anastasia were sitting near Leon. Cesar told them he didn't pass. The others pitied him and cheered him up a bit. They then went to the place for the next round.

At a door a man checked there papers and let them pass.
