Overcoming The Beast

"Cesar couldn't make it, We'll have to win for him!" Clyde said.

"That's the spirit Clyde! Let's see what the next round is." Pace said.

The room they were in was enormous like the last.

A woman spoke. "Everyone well done for passing. Now form teams of three. Quickly you only have minute." The lady started counting.

The six looked at each other and were fine with groups that had been. Eos, Leon and Pace formed a team while Clyde, Dwight and Anastasia formed a team.

"Times up. Good all of you have formed a team." She then snapped her fingers and a large formation activated underneath everyone.

"You all will be brought into a spatial pocket. In The spatial pocket there are one hundred tokens that will take you to the next round. As teams you need to find them and use it to move on to the next round."

Just as the lady finished speaking the formation teleported everyone away.

Leon, Pace and Eos appeared in the middle of a forest. They looked around. And all three of them quickly summoned there beasts.

Leon summoned the Dragon in Its frost snake form. It climbed on to Leon's head and waited. Pace summoned the Fire Cat and Eos summoned a Skyfire Fairy. It had evolved with the help of elder Harlan.

Pace's Fire Cat was also much stronger. It's fur golden. It had gone through an evolution as well since Leon had last seen it. It's potential was also higher. Pace had used the prizes to evolve it.

All beast were at the yellow star level. Leon's Dragon had reached six yellow stars. Pace's Fire Cat was at eight yellow stars and Eos's Skyfire Fairy was at one yellow star.

"So where do we start looking? Should I summon StarFire and have her check the area?"

Leon answered, "We should be more careful. There might be strong beast in the forest or teams near by. Having StarFire fly up would give away our position."

"So how do we find the token?" Eos asked.

"First we should start moving. Let's discuss on the way." Leon said.

They walked around. As they did Eos asked, "Leon why does your Purple Ice Serpent look like a Frost Snake?" Eos was genuinely curious.

"It has an ability that lets it disguise into a Frost Snake." Leon explained.

They talked as they walked but made sure to stay alert. A rustling in the tree branch could be heard. The three looked up. They saw a Bird like beast land on the tree branch. Around its neck was a necklace with a token hung on it.

"That should be the token." Pace whispered.

"Let's sneak up on it." Leon said.

The other two nodded. The three climbed the trees around and moved towards the bird.

Leon knew the species of bird. It was a Glowing Fire Bird. It was extremely fast at running away. Just as he was close enough to go and catch it. A shaking could be heard. The bird heard this and flew away.

Leon and Pace looked at Eos. She had caused the shaking. Her hand slipped and caused her to hit a tree branch.

"We have to chase it." Leon summoned the Griffina and jumped on it. He then flew after the bird.

Pace summoned the StarFire Peng and flew away as well. Eos summoned the Skyfire Witch and had her carry behind them.

Leon was in first and was slowly gaining on the bird. He had the Dragon on his head keeping track of the surroundings for any strong beast.

Pace was Holding Fiona and Chased on the peng. He wasn't slow and kept up with Leon. Eos was the most behind but was catching up. The Skyfire Witch and kept on using spells to boost herself forward. Eos unsummoned the Skyfire Fairy.

Leon looked back and signaled to Pace that he was going to speed up and capture it. Pace understood and slowed down the StarFire Peng. He waited for Eos to catch up and then sped up at a similar speed to her.

"Leon is going ahead we'll chase in his direction."

Eos nodded.

Around them many teams had seen them. They all also saw the glowing fire bird with that token. Six people burst out from the trees on flying beast. They chased after the glowing fire bird.

One of the six burst forward. She was ridding a wind beast. She sped pass Pace and Eos catching up to Leon. The other five were behind Pace and Eos.

Leon saw this and didn't worry. Pace and Eos could handle themselves. He told the Griffin to speed up. The Griffin nodded. It burst forth with speed leaving everyone in the dust.

Leon started catching up to the glowing Fire Bird. The bird look back to hear the loud burst it had heard. It saw a Griffin and others hot on its tail. It also burst forward.

It moved at a similar speed to Leon. It was now impossible stopwatch up at this rate. Leon had the Dragon attack using a Frost Ray.

The frost Ray shot and hit the edge of th bird's wing. It slowed it down for a second. That second was enough for Leon to catch up. He flew pass the bird and took that necklace. He then had the Griffin turn back to Pace and Eos.

The glowing fire bird continued to run with all its might unaware Leon had stopped chasing it.

Leon flew pass the girl on the Soaring Wind Eagle. She saw the necklace in Leon's hand and turned as well.

Leon caught up to Pace and Eos. They all stopped in the air.

"I got the necklace so let's leave." Leon activated the necklace and the three disappeared.

The girl flew by with the spewing eagle trying to steal the necklace but failed. She clicked her tongue. Her other teammates finally caught up to her.

Leon, Pace and Eos appeared out from the spatial pocket back to the room they were taken away from. In The hall there were five other teams that had already arrived.

They saw Leon's team for a second and then went to talking with their team mates.

The three found a place to sit. They then waited for the round to finish.

It took around another hour and all the teams papered again. The woman entered the hall again.

"Everyone team with a token you may stay. Everyone else leave."

Many teams left. Among the teams that stayed Leon saw Clyde, Dwight and Anastasia. They saw Leon, Pace and Eos.

They met up.

Clyde started excitedly, "Leon, Pace, Eos you do not know how cool Anastasia was! We thought we weren't going to make it through this round. Anastasia had her Midnight Caterpillar shoot out and steal the token from another team's hands! You should have see the look on their faces!" Clyde laughed.

"Now that there are only three hundred of you. Come with me."

The lady led them out of the room and flew away. Everyone summoned a flying beast and followed. No one had reached summoning master, so no one could fly on there own.

They flew over Blacksmith city. There were many tall buildings. The city was prosperous and was much more advanced in technology compared to the other parts of the continent.

The lady brought the three hundred outside the city. She then continued to fly in a direction. Leon flew steadily next to Eos and Pace. He had Dwight fly with him on the Griffin since Dwight didn't have a flying beast.

Anastasia and Clyde were the same they flew with Pace. Eos couldn't have her Witch carry any more people.

The lady flew at a reasonable pace and so it was hard to get left behind.

It took a few hours and they were now flying over a sea. Everyone still held strong. Although there beasts had gotten weaker they were fine.

An island papered in from of them. The lady flew down to it. The three hundred followed her.

She eventually stopped on the shore of the island.

The beasts following her landed.

"None of you were left behind it seems. Well that is fine. Now you three hundred are the best the Fire Continent has to offer. So we at the Council of Fire will make sure you are trained properly."

"All three hundred of you will be training on this island. But first how many of you were told they would be given a chance to practice in a high energy zone?"

Around two hundred of them raised their hand. Leon was excited he had been waiting for this, In The palace no one spoke about it and started the next round without letting them train there.

The Lady nodded. "On this island there is a high energy zone, I will take you all there. Even the people that didn't achieve top fifty in the second round. We just have to wait for a while."

Soon an airship arrived. It landed on the beech and more then eight hundred people came out.

"These are the others that were allowed to train at a high energy zone. They will accompany you. Now all of you follow me."

The lady walked into the island. The three hundred followed. Then the other eight hundred followed behind.

They were brought to a cave. They entered and went deep into the ground. Finally at the end of it was multiple entrances.

"All caves are different elements. Find that element you want to cultivate."

Leon chose the Fire room. It was a large room with red crystal walls.

"You all shall cultivate here, The three hundred that passed the fifth round don't have a time limit. The others you have three days." Lady's voice echoed from out side.

Leon found a private area and summoned the Phoenix egg. He made sure to hide its aura using formless aura. He then sunk the egg into the ground. The crystals were made of Fire energy and so the Phoenix easily passed and went directly to the species of the energy to that room.

Leon sat down and started training in the Vermilion Burning Heart art. It had five levels, Fire Control, Fire strengthening, Flames of rage, Heart fire and Vermilion flames.

The art was based on one of the stronger runes From the heavenly art, Vermilion Bird's Rage.

The others from the Flamesmith Clan found an area nearby and started cultivating. There was no poison cultivation room so Anastasia cultivated in the Fire room as that was the element to her other beast.

The room was filled with dense fire energy. It did justice to the name of a High energy zone.

Leon cultivated as he did he thought about the evolution of his beast. He couldn't do much for the Dragon and chimera. The Blood Harpy needed Holy and Blood energy. There was a Blood cave here which Leon planned to go later to.

There was then the two Lightning Beast, Leon was working on The Lightning Griffin slowly however the Lightning Spirit Butterfly was completely neglected. He had barely summoned it. There wasn't a Lightning cave either so Leon couldn't train them.

Leon cultivated and reached the second level of the Fire art, fire strengthening. Although he was cultivating without a beast he was still fast. Almost everyone else in the room had summoned a beast to cultivate with.

Leon cultivated a little longer and felt his cultivation slow down. He would need a Fire beast to cultivate to increase the pace, it would be a waste of time to continue cultivating without a Fire beast. He could continue but he would rather cultivate the Blood element.

He got up and left the cave. He then found the Blood element cave and entered it. There were a few blood cultivators around.

Leon sat down. He decided he might as well make this time useful. He had sat down near the edge. He formed a quick formation and disappeared from the cave. The wall seemed to stretch forward and it looked unchanged. It covered Leon and made him noticeable.

Leon set up a few more formations. They were hiding and blocking formations. He then used Formless aura to give himself the aura of the Blood red crystal that covered the walls of the Blood room.

Leon then summoned the Blood Harpy. She appeared next to him. She sat down and summoned the spell book. She then started absorbing energy.

Leon thought of an art. It was the Blood God's art. It was a heavenly art he cultivated and remembered from his past life. He sat down and started to cultivate it.

The Blood God's art formed a formation called the Blood God's runic formation. It gave the beast omniscient control of all blood energy. Leon had only cultivated it to the six thousand rune stage. It had a total of thirty one thousand tunes to complete the while formation. The greater had even divided the number of runes added to the formation into levels.

The first thousand tunes were the first level called, Muderer's Blood Puddle. The addition of two thousand more was the second level called, Killer's Blood Pool. Four thousand more was the third level, Massacres's Blood Lake. Eight thousand more was the fourth level, War's Blood Sea. The addition of the final sixteen thousand was the fifth level, Death's Blood Ocean.

Leon had only reached the third level, Massacres's Blood Lake, even after killing so many people and absorbing there blood. The required the killing of millions of beings and having there blood absorbed. Leon planned on first going through as much of the art he could without killing. After that he would mainly kill beast If he had to.

Although the art required killing it was mainly to comprehend the runes. Leon had already mostly comprehended all the killing part. He absorbed energy and formed the bases for the runic formation in the Blood Harpy.

It took him a few hours and he formed the first twenty runes. With his high affinity the forming of runes was easy.

Leon was perfectly concentrated on frosting runes and wasn't focusing on the Blood Harpy. The Harpy had gone through an enormous change. It's body had more and more white feathers pop up. It also had the Bird parts decrease. The feathers on its body were decreasing. It's hands gradually started form fingers. It's feet were changing from bird feet to ham feet.

Leon stayed in the state of concentration for the three days. He had formed the first two hundred runes.

He paused and looked at the Harpy. It looked less bird and more human.

"You'll evolve when I finish the first thousand runes. It'll be a big evolution as well. Let's get this done as soon as possibl-"

"Everyone get out of the caves." The woman's voice rung.

Leon unsummoned the Blood Harpy and removed the runes. He looked around and saw that no one saw him. He then left the cave.

Our side in the room that led to all the caves everyone formed a crowd.

"Now all those that have not passed round four and five your time is up. All of you leave." Most of the crowd made there way out. The others were people that had passed the rounds.

"You three hundred, like I said before this island is yours for training in. You have a month of free time. You may train here or go back home. In a month you all should be here. If you aren't here you will be disqualified." The lady then left.
