Rebirth: The Shadow Of Greed

....Initially, Odrunn thought that he was really going to kick the bucket, with nothing more than his will-power and Z's scolding keeping him on the right track.

From when the training started, it seems that Odrunn had already lost his mind sitting in the corner of the cave and speaking to his Commswatch even though there was no reception whatsoever.

"Odrunn, what are you doing? Go rest, we have to start training again soon!"

Z asked looking at Odrunn in the corner.

"I'm just noting down everything in my Commswatch. In case we don't make it out I hope someone finds our bodies and bring our Commswatch out into the world, so at the very least my father would know where I disappeared to."

Odrunn replied as he continued speaking into the Commswatch.

Odrunn's log, Day 1.

Hey Dad, It's me. If this makes it out and you're wondering what happened to me, I'll be keeping you updated about the things that are happening to me, so if you miss me or something you can listen to my voice.

Boss started to give me training, it was really tiring and intense, way more intense than when I trained in the academy. Just today alone, he made me endure the cold and put some rocks on me while doing push-ups and squats. I felt like I was going to die, my body felt like it was tearing apart and after an hour I was on the ground. Do you know what he did! he hit me with a stick and he asked Soli to hit me with ice balls when he got tired, can you believe that!

On top of that, he started to stuff me with wild meat, it's nice to have food and all but the amounts he is feeding me is insane. I ate till I wanted to vomit, but I had to hold it in otherwise boss will just force-feed me somemore.

Boss did train with me too, but he seemed to do much less. You know I'm talking to you now as I'm lying down, I put my hands closer to my face just so I can speak into it, the training is super hard.

Odrunn's log, Day 2

Hey Dad, I slept for about 3 hours last night, Soli didn't wake up until she had 7 hours of sleep, but boss woke up and already started whipping me, I can't sleep in peace and I had to endure the painful process of eating and exercising. Today he started to rub my muscles while I was recovering, it hurt so much, I screamed so many times today.

Dad, I want to go home, but with my abilities now, it'll be hard for me to make it back alive.

I hope everything is okay back home, I hope uncle hasn't made a move yet. You have to wait for me to come back, I'll be sure to come back with some accomplishments so you won't have to worry. I love you dad!

Odrunn's log day 5

Today we went out to hunt, we ran out of food today after so much eating we consumed all the tiger meat we carried as well as stripped the bear clean. Boss said we have to be self-sufficient so we had to leave the cave to hunt for meat. Soli made an ice bridge for us to get to the beasts, but I'm still worried about the dune worm that was hunting around. Boss told me to be at ease, we'll lure a beast nearer to the cave to kill.

We found an Ox beast amongst its herd, it wasn't very aggressive and boss managed to pull one away from the herd without creating much of a problem, the ox beast charged at us after boss enraged it and lured it closer to the cave. Boss made me fight with the ox beast and he didn't even give me any weapons what so ever, I had to fight the beast with my b.a.r.e hands.

The Ox beast charged at me and I was so afraid that he would knock me over with its horns, I extended my arms forward to block and I managed to block the Ox beast. Me dad! I managed to block it, not only that I threw it into the wall and I managed to break its neck. Can you believe it? I'm starting to feel like following boss was the best decision I made, I'm just a vanguard and yet I can already fight the beast head-on...

Odrunn's log day 10

Hey Dad, as usual training continued, boss insisted on adding more weight onto my training, every single day is the same, every single day I feel my body breaking and reforming again. Right now I'm doing close to 2000 pushups before lunch with weights attached, it seems like my stamina has improved greatly, the amount of food I've consumed had also increased wildly, boss is forcing me to go out on my own to hunt for food.

He told me that the dune worm only feeds once a month near the watering hole if we avoid there it'll be fine. I brought back 1 more ox beast, I'm eating 1 over a period of 2 days. The more I eat the Ox beast, the more full of energy I feel I'm getting. Previously boss lured the Ox beast over, but now all I do is to run up to one and carry them away, it's so satisfying.

Dad if you could see your son now, you'd be so proud. Mom is watching me from heaven, I know it. I just hope that I can get out of this so you can see me for real. I'll make sure no one will be able to look down on me or use me as an excuse to get to you. I'll be sure of it!
