Rebirth: The Shadow Of Greed

...The pieces of 8 acted as a curtain blocking Underling 1's view from the rest of the world.

As he struggled to shake himself free of the blinds that blocked him Z took the chance to dash in as he prepared to do some hand to hand combat. 

He turned to Odrunn as he shouted out, "Odrunn! Gauntlets!" 

Odrunn nodded as he tossed over the gauntlets to Z, while Zeno blocked underling 2's attacks. 

Z grabbed hold of the gauntlet and put it on, winding his arm up to throw a huge punch. 

'boom' the air around them trembled as Z landed a blow on underling 1's body causing some serious damage as underling 1 started to spasm. 

Z dodged a blind kick coming from underling 1 as he ducked down avoiding the follow up as well. After the struggle, underling 1 finally broke free from the pieces of 8 as it got recalled back to Z. 

He was fuming mad and upset that someone had actually done that much damage to his perfect body, his body that was coated in strong metal. It was inconceivable that fighting a bunch of tank level fighters would cause him this much trouble. 

His eyes had a red tint as he began his charge up to Z. One step, two steps, three steps. 

He was closing the distance fast, thinking of what he wanted to do when he laid his hands on the brat that caused him so much damage. 

Four steps, five steps, six steps, he had finally reached caught up to Z, with his vision now free again, dodging the punches that Z throws would be easy for him to say the least. 

Dodging the jab, blocking the straight. He was ecstatic, Z was within his grasp, just a bit more he would be able to grab hold of Z and smother him to death. Taking revenge for the humiliation he had felt before. 

He was eye to eye with Z finally, his hands like claws ready to grab onto his prey. 

Z smiled as he pointed up to the sky as he vanished like a wisp of smoke appearing beside Soli. 

In shock, underling 1 looked up only to realize that the sky had been completely blocked out, in his rage, he had completely missed the crucial attack. 

Z turned to Soli and nodded, as Soli whose hand was raised up swiped down as a huge iceberg followed crashing down upon underling 1 who was beneath it. 

"Oh shit…" 

Underling 1 shouted, his eyes flashed before his eyes. He never did want a life like this, to him living was living. He was abandoned and on the street at a young age, forced to beg for credits to survive. When that failed, he tried to steal nutrition bars. The storekeepers caught him and beat him up badly, but every time he would try again. He had no choice, it was, do or die. 

When he gained his manifest, he would dash in eat the food and be beaten up, with a coat of armor, it really was less painful. One day, the shopkeepers gave up entirely, instead of beating him up, they captured him, tied him up with ropes and left him to die. 

In his moment of need a ghostly figure appeared, he drifted into his vision as he gave a cruel smile. 

What he had offered him that day was not just a chance. He had given him life. Although he knew that the Snake Fang Gang was bad and what they did was evil, he had no choice, he had to steel his heart and just go along with it. 

To think it would end up with him dying under an iceberg to a bunch of tank level fighters. He closed his eyes and accepted his fate as the iceberg landed and crushed him. 

The iceberg dissipated into water, as all that remained was underling 1, sprawled out on the floor. 

"Shit! That useless kid."

Ghostface frowned as he dodged the attacks coming from Daymas.

"To think I supported him all his life"

Soli fell to the ground, holding up such a massive iceberg had drained her entire energy. 

Z removed the gauntlets as he walked over and pat Soli on the shoulder. 

"Good job, you rest here first. I'll go rescue the kids while the rest are busy."

Arel followed behind Z as they both ran in grabbing a few kids out at a time and placing them near Soli who cut their bindings. 

After completely removing the kids from the large transport vehicles, the kids were sedated, but from the look on their face, they were happy that they were being rescued. 

"Sandra, thank goodness you're alright."

Z spoke as he patted Sandra's head. 

"big brother… Is it really you? Did you save us again? I can't move… Thank you, big brother…"

Sandra had tears welled up in her eyes as she started to cry. 

After rescuing the kids, Z turned his attention towards Odrunn and Zeno who were still trading hits, blow after blow with underling 2. 

Underling 2 would hit Odrunn and Zeno would absorb half the damage. Odrunn would then recover and both of them would hit underling 2. 

It almost seemed like a cycle but it felt like nothing was happening, hit after hit it seemed like none of them were getting injured but it was far from the fact, the damage that they dealt to each other would damn near kill anyone else, it just goes to show their physical endurance in this aspect. 

Z seeing the standstill sprung into action, the pieces of 8 shifted into an attack posture. 

Stepping forward, the pieces of 8 formed two stars as they launched out from behind his back as they promptly dispatched with 2 of the arms from underling 2. 

"Ahhhhhhh" a scream pierced the battleground. 

Odrunn who was holding onto underling 2, felt a hot liquid splash over his face. Having dyed red made Odrunn uncomfortable, but he persisted with the battle kicking the shin of underling 2, slamming him on the ground hard.
