Reincarnation: Love After Death

Chapter 24 - Be My Mess

"So, Mr. Narcissist. What about you?" Then she giggled.

"I'm the God of Death also known as the time keeper. I can freeze time when I want to and I can travel back in time but I can't travel into the future."

"Why?"

"Because the future is a mess. It can still change. And I can't alter the future. That's God of Heaven's duty being the God of Fate."

"So basically you can't interfere with each other's roles?"

"Correct."

"D, can you do me a favor?"

D hummed as his response of approaval.

"If you receive a memo about my death. Please let me know."

D looked at Elaia's face. Even if it's dark inside the elevator, he can still clearly see her. Another advantage of having miraculous powers.

"Okay. But you can't die yet. I'll grant you that favor but you must fight for your life and don't give up easily."

Hearing his words, Elaia felt warmth inside her heart. "Why?"

"Because you can't barge in my life and intrigued me, then left me hanging."

Elaia snorted. "Wow! It's like a break up line. But most of the time it's the girl who says that line."

"Damn! It's a f.u.c.kin' break up line! I thought it's another pick up line coz I read it at one of Akila's romance novels collection."

Elaia laughed so hard, and eventually D joined her with a light chuckle.

"You better stop reading those romance novels. It doesn't happen in real life. Those were just fictions."

D gasped. "You don't have to sound bitter about romance thingy, Elaia. But why do romance novels have break up lines if it's suppose to be all cheesy and stuff?"

Elaia leaned her head on D's shoulder. "Because sometimes it doesn't go the way they wanted it to be. Sometimes people were meant to be a part of a chapter in your life but wasn't meant to be part of the whole book."

D frowned. "That's sad."

Elaia nodded, "Yeah. But there are times that they broke up but in the end they'll be together again."

"That's so messed up."

"Everything about life and love is messed up. We just gotta choose the person who we want to be each other's mess."

They went silent for a minute.

D broke the silence by asking, "Can you open up something about yourself?"

Elaia pursed her lips then said, "I'm not good at telling my own stories with other people except my family. And maybe, someday, with my special someone."

D looked at the ceiling of the elevator then said with a serious tone,

"Be my mess."
