Ye Yang’s assumptions were on point. There was a smirk on Qian Yurou’s face when she asked, “And why do you think I should believe you?”

He fell silent for a moment. Obviously, there was no reason for her to believe him.

Seeing how Ye Yang wouldn’t speak, Qian Yurou chuckled. “If you come up with a better lie next time, maybe I’ll believe you.”

Qian Yurou got ready to leave after saying that.

Ye Yang reacted swiftly by grabbing Qian Yurou’s wrist as he got up. “There’s no reason for me to make up such lies. Now that things have gone haywire, do you really have to go there and put yourself in grave danger?”

Qian Yurou was stunned. For a moment there, she even wanted to agree with Ye Yang. She knew that there was nothing wrong with his statement. Since the robbery had already happened and she wasn’t the police, she could be of no assistance whatsoever if she went over.

However, Qian Yurou couldn’t allow herself to stay put and do nothing.

She smiled at Ye Yang, and this time, she spoke with a more polite tone, without the hint of sarcasm that was present prior to this moment. “Thank you anyway. Still, I have to go no matter what, but I will be on the lookout.”

Being quick-witted, Ye Yang whispered into Qian Yurou’s ear, “I know about you and Little Bing.”
