Scarlet's Awakening

Chapter 17 - Scarler Order

Scarlet felt relieved when they all returned safely to the royal study of the Rozen Palace. When everyone reached the threshold safely, including Jasper and Anselme, Eigeel left the study immediately. He told her that he had things to take care of, so she gave him permission to go.

Afterwards, Scarlet gave Silver the task of taking care of the guests. Eireen was still drained from making the portal for them. It would be easier for her if I was on the 1st level of the Other Dimension Unfortunately, she was forced to open a portal in the deepest part of the Other Dimension because of her.

Handling the affairs of the inner palace was, of course, Eireen's responsibility. She had been running the castle for a long time. Yet now she had to temporarily stop from her usual duties so that she could recover her strength once again. She had to go back to work in full health. Nobody can do the job as efficiently as her and in the face of these considerations, Scarlet made the smart choice to give Silver the task instead so that Eireen could rest. Silver may not be as experienced and knowledgeable in dealing with the palace's affairs as Eireen, but she has a little experience of the job.

Silver was about to take Anselme and Jasper to their rooms, per Scarlet's instructions, but the little brat was reluctant to leave her side. He shamelessly clung to her arm, acting adorably like a child for the first time and reminded Scarlet about the wish she promised him when they were stuck in the Other Dimension.

Right! She almost forgot about that wish. If Jasper didn't mention it to her she would have completely forgotten about it.

Overhearing about the wish, Levin, Aqua and Silver exclaimed in horror. They were instantly concerned about the safety of their queen. Jasper may look innocent on the outside but they were feeling very wary of him from the first time that they met him. He may look like a child but a mere helpless little child wouldn't survive in the 3rd layer of the Other Dimension. They also noticed when he was displaying qualities like an a.d.u.l.t, unlike his age.

Scarlet suddenly had a headache when the three started arguing with her about her protection and safety. She told them that Jasper was just a cute little kid who wouldn't hurt a fly! How could Jasper harm or take advantage of her. On the other hand, while Scarlet was trying to put their minds at ease, Anselme was trying his best not to laugh when his future mistress defended his master awhile ago. Saying the he was too cute to be cunning.

Scarlet has this illusion of his Master that was sweet and innocent like a little puppy. But the truth is, he's not. His master was a far from sweet or innocent. In fact, neither of these things reflected his authentic self.

It took time for their discussion to come to an agreement. Levin and the others put up a ridiculous list of restrictions for Jasper and his wishes. The little lord agreed with all of them without batting his lashes.

[Scarlet's POV]

The next day, Eireen took me to the throne room after dressing me up nicely. I didn't want to get ready, but she was adamant that I was expected to dress like a queen in front of my subjects. She made me wear a purple dress with gold and black lace, put my hair in a bun, putting it in place with a purple rose hairpin and a pair of black sandals with red roses on top of it. She made me look like a Gothic Barbie doll. Good thing my gothic make-up was a light since Eireen told me that they don't use make-up here in Gehenna often. What's the use of make-up when you look like a Barbie doll with permanent make-up on right?

"We're here," Eireen and I stopped at a large double door made of reinforced black steel with intricate golden patterns forming a rose garden.

I notice that almost every corner of this location has a rose carving or rose design. Some of the furniture has it, too. Scarlet is obviously fond of roses, and every corner of her castle is lined with it.

My thoughts were disturbed when the wide double doors made a squeaky sound as it gradually began to open on its own. I was surprised by the sudden opening of the doors.

A blinding light shone from within, and in a moment my vision adapted itself so that I could see what was in front of me.

Behind the double doors was an unbelievably large throne room, with huge and heavy pillars standing in every corner of the room, and four large candlesticks hung on the highest ceiling ever seen. The whole room was shouting royalty and splendor. This overwhelms me since it reveals how powerful Scarlet was when she was still alive.

I cleared my mouth. I'm scared... frankly speaking. I have never been to a throne room before. I'm not used to this kind of luxury either.

I've been an orphan.

I was going back and forth to the orphanage and the computer shop when I was in my teenage years. I was making money while I watch the shop everyday abd I used what I earned to help children in the orphanage to buy more clothes, school supplies, and food.

With less money received from charitable organizations each month, children in our orphanage were increasing so much that Mother Superior was struggling to feed them all. Since decided to stop going to school, I helped them in saving more money for the other kids. I also used the money I earned for myself to buy some books, especially science and mathematics manuals to teach myself. ⠀

"Your Majesty." I was brought back to reality by Eireen's gentle voice. I looked at her, and she grinned at me. She asked me to enter the room first.

I looked back at the throne room. The aura inside was very oppressive and powerful. But it wasn't enough to intimidate me. Maybe it's because I'm inside the body of Scarlet that I wouldn't run away.

After a moment, I decided to walk inside the throne room. I threw my legs forward, taking every step while a long entourage of stunning maidens trailed behind me. The one leading the maidens was Eireen, who had this calm and cheerful smile on her face while walking behind me. Each individual I walked by automatically knelt down to the floor and bowed their heads in greeting towards me.

Slowly, I climbed the stairs to the infamous crimson throne. The seat where Scarlet had been sitting for hundreds of years, governing the land with her strength

I turned around, pulling the train of my dress behind me. I sat on the throne with all the grace and elegance that I could display.

Everyone in the throne room became still as I looked at the different beings in front of me while sporting the emotionless and lifeless expression on my face that the original Scarlet always had.

"Rise." I ordered with the calmest tone I have.

As they all stood up, my eyes searched for Eireen. I saw her next to Eigeel, and beside him were five imposing beings with powerful auras standing in front of me.
