Scarlet's Awakening

Chapter 33 - Caught You 1

"Mistress!" she w.h.i.n.ed, making Scarlet roll her eyes to her childish reaction.

"I'm just kidding you, okay? Don't get so riled up about it."

The fairy's eyes began to water, "Mistress is making fun of me. Mistress is being a meanie. Waaah!" and she began to bow her eyes out.

Scarlet held her forehead and sighed. "Oh God ..." Navy's loud wail was starting to hurt her head. Now she's internally regretting her decision to tease her a little bit.

Sighing once again, she did not comfort the crying fairy. She gave the little fairy the space to let out all her grievances towards her.

While Scarlet was trying to silence her wailing inside her head, all of a sudden, Navy stopped crying and looked up.

She looked like she sensed something!

Scarlet felt the Navy was acting odd.

"What's the matter, Navy?" she asked.

A strong wind swept past them, and there was silence between them for a moment.

Navy stared at Scarlet, and Scarlet saw the worry reflected in her eyes.

"There's someone else in the room," she said, making Scarlet feel uncomfortable inside her c.h.e.s.t.

"Is it an assassin?" she asked.

Navy shook her little blue head, "No, it's not an assassin."

"Who is it? Is the guy carrying a weapon with him?"

"No, there's no weapon on him, too."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure, boss. He's not making any moves. He's just standing beside your bed and looking at you sleeping."

Scarlet shuddered, "Is he a pervert?" Navy lips twitched, stopping herself from laughing because of Scarlet's unwelcoming inference. Good thing she didn't see her reaction, or she'd be confused about the expression she was trying to hide towards her.

"Perhaps..." Navy shrugged her shoulders before she replied.

Scarlet sat up, still feeling uncomfortable inside.

"So, what are we going to do?" she asked nervously.

Navy calmly looked at her, "Let's sit here for a bit longer and watch him. If he ever makes a move against us, we'll kill him."

Scarlet grinned, "Sounds simpler than done ..." Navy reassuringly smiled at her.

"Don't worry, Mistress. Now that I'm here, your safety is already absolute. Just trust me, and I'll keep both of us alive." Hearing Navy's words, Scarlet settled down a little.

"Yes ... If I die, you die, it's only natural that you're doing everything in your power to keep me alive."

Navy's face became complicated, "Please don't misinterpret my motives, Mistress. I only wanted you to be safe."

Scarlet sighed, "I know ... I wouldn't question your allegiance nor your motives towards me. Just ignore what I said. Don't take them to heart."

"Sure ..." Navy raised her hand in the air, and a live vision was suddenly displayed in front of them inside a hovering sphere the size of a basketball.

"What are you doing?" Scarlet asked curiously, sitting comfortably on the lawn, watching her assistant do her work.

"Right now, I'm going to show mistress the pervert's face and see what he's doing in your room right now."

Scarlet sneered, "and why should I want to see that pervert's-!!!" her eyes found the live vision and immediately froze like an ice block when she saw the face of the man projected through it.

Navy sat on her l.a.p and zoomed into the focus of the live picture like a surveillance camera. "Oh, there he is, this is the guy, Mistress."

Scarlet couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"What -... who is he -..." she gasped. Even though the image was slightly illuminated by the dim light from the windows, Scarlet somehow recognized that long, sleek, raven black hair, that attractively shaped Grecian nose, the enticing thin red lips, and the familiar blue eyes of the ocean, gazing down at her sleeping on the bed.

There's no question about this one! She's not hallucinating either!

Scarlet could not believe her eyes. It's the handsome guy who went missing in the cave.

The same handsome man who never kept bugging her thoughts and dreams!

What the heck is he doing here?

She wondered if she'd ever see that beautiful face again before, but she ruled out the chance because they didn't even know each other. And it was almost unlikely for them to meet again!

But seeing him there in the flesh, just effortlessly standing there as his deep blue eyes gazed down at her! Scarlet could not keep her cool. She was hyperventilating inside!

Navy glanced at her mistress' shocked expression, then turned to the devastatingly beautiful man projected within her magic sphere.

The lights inside the room were off in the image, so it's a little hard for Navy to identify the man's face with that little light. By comparison to her mistress who knew immediately who he was at a glance, Navy couldn't see his face clearly.

Suddenly, the man stepped in, having the light shine on him from the window. His stunning face was now visible, causing Navy to freeze in her place, her eyes immediately flickering with recognition.

"Mistress, this is-"

She's the duplicate of her brain. It's not surprising that she recognized him. It's so unlikely for her not to remember a man whose appearance had a great impact on Scarlet's life since she was reborn to this world.

Scarlet stood up, causing the Navy to pitifully roll down from her l.a.p. "I've got to get out of here. I've got to get up right now."

Navy flapped her wings and flew to her master's eye level.

"Mistress, I think that's a bad idea."

"No, I think not ..." Scarlet grinned, "... and if it is like you said, I trust you'll still save my behind without the need for a moment's thought anyway," she said. Receiving a pout from Navy.

Scarlet didn't bother thinking too much about Navy. She has priorities now. And she's not going to let him leave her sight without asking for his name.

She will not let this ultra-rare opportunity to pass...

Jasper's eyes gleamed bright blue as he examined her body, looking for injuries and anomalies inside her. He sighed in relief when he saw that there was none. Good. She's all right. It seems that she received medical attention immediately after she got knocked down.

Actually, Jasper wanted to visit and see Scarlet sooner than this, however Anselme came in and told him not to be reckless and impulsive. He's going to have to wait till she's alone in her room before he can see her.

Jasper's eyes returned to her beautiful face. His mind was deep in thought as he contemplated the changes that had taken place inside him since he met her.

He already knew what kind of guy he used to be. He wasn't the kind of person who made imprudent decisions. He's also not used to mindlessly supporting someone like this, even forgetting his own safety, just to make sure that she is all right. He was a brutal, cold-blooded murderer who did not value the importance of life. He destroyed countless people without mercy. He was also a greedy man who thought only of himself. His mother, too, could not make him change. But somehow she ... the woman who doesn't even realize what's she's done to him, or how much she's influenced him. As well as another funny fact is she doesn't actually know that they are married.

Jasper released a long sigh, pressing his forehead as he shakes his head, feeling exhausted. He opens his eyes after shutting them close for 10 seconds. The inner turmoil he felt within his heart was being reflected in his eyes.

His attention went back to his sleeping wife again, not noticing that his legs were moving a few steps closer to her bed until he sat on the edge beside her, not taking his eyes away from her beautiful face.

"What am I going to do with you?" his voice was hoarse as he stroked her cheek with the back of his hand. Then afterwards he slowly traced the side of her face with his fingertips, immersing himself in the warmth of her skin when all of a sudden, a slender hand caught his roaming fingertips. Her delicate eyelids fluttering open.

Jasper was stunned motionless, her stunning black irises staring back at him. His face immediately burned with shame and embarrassment, thinking he was caught doing something reprehensible towards her.

While Jasper's mind was searching for an excuse, fast, the emotions within Scarlet's eyes relaxed as the edges of her crimson red lips curled upwards in a captivating smile.

"Finally, I've got you."
