Scarlet's Awakening

As the price went higher and higher, Scarlet suddenly felt distressed that the doll who had her face in it was going to be sold to those perverted men below, "Talon, how much do you got?" she asked, eyeing the spectacle below.

"I have a million Gold coins in my space ring at the moment." he calmly replied making Scarlet's jaw to drop on the floor.

"What? Why are you bringing that much money with you? Are you going to buy a castle or something?"

Talon shook his head, "I have no interest in buying anything, my queen. This is just one-tenth of my savings. Most of my money are at the treasury."

"I didn't know you were a rich man, Talon..." she blurted out but the humble Talon just bowed his head.

"Your riches are far greater than mine, my queen."

Yeah, unfortunately, I can't open my dimensional storage room so I'm like a beggar compared to you guys, Scarlet's mind retorted.

Okay, back to the current problem... "Can you let me borrow your money again this time, Talon? I really want to purchase that doll you see."

Without thinking more about it Talon replied, "Of course. If you need more money please tell me. I'll contact Eireen to send me some more."

Scarlet laughed awkwardly, "A million gold coins is enough."

"10,000 Gold coins!"

Scarlet looked back at the bidding below. So, the price already reached 10,000 Gold coins and the one who bid it was the man in an owl mask.

The old man gritted his teeth as he glared at the man who said the last bid. "11,000 Gold coins."

"12,000 Gold coins," the owl man (because he's wearing an owl mask) immediately followed up.

Scarlet bit her lower lip at what's happening below her. She has to win the bidding if she wants to have a peace of mind later.

Okay, this is it.

She raised her hand and said, "30,000 Gold coins."

Everyone inside the auction hall started to look up at the private booth where she was at. They were all shocked because the price for a mere lifeless doll has reached her starting worth which is 700 Gold coins only.

Scarlet's voice resounded making the atmosphere of the bidding deathly quiet.

"T-Thirty-Thousand Gold coins! Going once? Going twice? Sold to the lady in a black cloak."

The two competing men frowned in displeasure while everyone started clapping since the next item was going to be displayed next. .

In the booth above, Scarlet stood up.

"I guess we're done here..." she was about to leave the auction hall and fetch the doll she just purchased when she suddenly, she caught sight of something at the corner of her eyes.

On the stage was a man, tied up and bound up in chains. His head was bowed down but Scarlet can recognize him without seeing his face.

"What… What is he doing there?"

"Ladies and Gentlemen, our next item for tonight is a rare one... Here we have a man who is very capable, and skilled in fighting. What's more," the master of the auction tipped the man's head using his cane, showing everyone his face. "He's also very, very attractive..."

All of the women inside the hall squealed, catching their breaths at the sight of the most devastatingly handsome man they have ever seen.

He might look helpless, being chained while kneeling up there with a spotlight directed towards him. But it was obvious that underneath his crimson robes his skin was clear and unmarred by whips. And that face... Gods that face of his! The man was dangerously beautiful to behold. His beauty was on another level entirely and all who got attracted towards wanted to have him.

Seeing the various reactions of the people below, Scarlet unconsciously crushed the hand rest of her chair inside her hands like it was paper. She lost control of her strength when she caught the hungry gazes of the women directed towards him. She couldn't help it. She was jealous... And why wouldn't she? The man on stage was Ishid himself!

Yes! Ishid.

Scarlet closed her eyes and tried calming her breathing. Is this what he was talking about last night? Is this his way of bringing himself to her side so that he could guard her without being suspected by her subordinates?

Being sold as a rare slave huh...

Scarlet had to admit that his plan caught her off guard. He should have told her what he was planning to do. She would've planned her every more with Navy. But it was already too late. Anyway, Buying Ishid in an auction house could make Talon and Aqua less suspicious of him, but still- what if she hadn't come to this place? To this auction house? Is he going to sell himself to these ladies then?

Scarlet suddenly found herself fuming at the thought of him being owned by someone else.

On the other hand, Jasper can feel Scarlet eyes staring down at him from the private booth. He already knew she was coming... Why? Because he planned everything, from the small accident outside that blocked their path, up to planting the thought inside her head to come to this auction house without realizing, and of course, buying him.

"Starting bid for this man is 10,000 gold coins, Ladies and Gentlemen!"

"20,000 Gold coins!" an over-excited female immediately said with a wide grin on her face. She looked longingly at the stage, if this man becomes she will definitely bring him to her house and marry him.

"And the bidding has started! Do I hear 30,000 Gold coins?"

"30,000!" Now, it was a man who bided, not a girl. And he was smirking while looking towards Ishid with a dirty gaze.

Scarlet suddenly can felt goosebumps at the sight of it.

Oh, hell no!

I am not handing Ishid over to a... he!

"500,000 Gold coins!" Scarlet finally snapped, making the people around her gasp in surprise at her bid.

All of them, especially, the women became dejected now because they can't top Scarlet's bid of half a million. The woman who bided first became smaller and smaller on her seat like melted ice cream. The bidding just went over her limit and she couldn't go on any further. However, there are some who can still go on with the bidding.

"510,000 Gold coins!" the same man with the dirty gaze bided. He didn't seem to be giving up yet. He must be really interested in acquiring a handsomely dangerous man like Ishid.

Scarlet suddenly gritted her teeth. Fucking hell? Is this man really that desperate to take Ishid from her that he's willing to pay 510,000 Gold coins in a single purchase?

Scarlet suddenly realized she couldn't blame everyone for acting on their selfish dėsɨrės.. Ishid is a great catch and lot of women- or man- would obviously risk their fortune just to own him.
