Scarlet's Awakening

With a face like that- a face that can toppled queens to their knees, and kingdoms to their ruin. Owning Ishid was an obviously a once in a lifetime investment! But of course, Scarlet will not give him up without a fight. Nor will she ever leave him. The moment she saw Ishid in that cave, she already called dibs on him.

Anyway, Scarlet still has a budget of 900,000 Gold coins left. Let's see if he can top this…

"600,000 Gold coins!" Scarlet said and that did it!

The man's shoulder slumped in defeat hearing the new bidding price. He couldn't go on any further.

While Scarlet grinned victoriously at her achievement, Jasper was secretly smiling at his wife's action.

Today, he just discovered a lot of things about his wife, and that includes the fact that she is actually very possessive towards him.

"600,000 Gold coins, going once?" the auction master started, "Going twice?" no one responded, "Sold again to the lady in the black cloak!"

A wash of relief flooded Scarlet's ċhėst when she finally, one-sidedly won the bid. Thank goodness she was able to acquire him without spending all of Talon's money.

Talon, on the other hand, watched the whole scene played out in front of him in silence and suddenly felt mixed feelings at the man his mistress just bought.

He couldn't sense any magical power on him while he was being chained on stage. But his instincts tells him that he was with some one really dangerous. And his instincts never lies. Who is this man...?

Everybody in the auction hall clapped at the purchase and then the master of the auction proceeded towards another item to be sold.

Scarlet on the other hand smiled to herself. "Now, we're really done here... Talon, let's go…"

"Yes," Talon immediately replied.

"Please, let me guide you to the private claiming room, my lady…" he said, bowing his head politely towards Scarlet because she looks like the one who calls the shot between the two of them...

"Lead the way then..." Scarlet said. She followed the male employee when he nodded and led them out of the second floor.

When they went down, they turned to another corridor and went inside a room where the customers can get her purchases.

When they arrived there, a well-dressed middle aged man welcomed Scarlet inside with a wide smile.

"Hello, my lady, I'm Mr. Morris, owner of the Dhalohr Auction House... I'm here to personally hand your purchases over to you."

Scarlet didn't reply, she only nodded as a sign of recognition towards him and his efforts to handle the matter of her purchase personally.

"Where are they?" she asked, looking for the doll and Ishid since she doesn't see them anywhere in the room. .

Mr. Morris respectfully lowered his eyes before answering, "They will be here shortly. Please have a seat…"

Taking him up on his generous offer, Scarlet took a seat while Talon stood behind her like a proper bodyguard.

The owner of the auction house observed the lady who just made a huge purchase in his auction house. Even though her cloak was thick and her face wasn't visible, it was still enough for him to deduce that she was a well-bred lady.

The quality of her cloak wasn't of ordinary quality either. A mere noble wouldn't be able to wear such a luxurious item every day. And her movements, her posture, and her way of speaking also hinted that she was of high standing. A duchess perhaps? Since a duchess is the second highest position a woman could attain in the Gehennian society next to the queen.

The lady sat comfortably on the seat, taking up its space like she owned it while crossing her legs as a sign that she was at ease and confident with herself.

A knock disturbed the owner's thoughts, "Ah, they have arrived..." he said, smiling at Scarlet. "Come in!"

Scarlet turned towards the door as it opened and a group of big men brought the doll and Ishid inside who was still in chains.

"Kneel, slave!" one of the men ordered Ishid but he was just ignored by the cold, beautiful man.

The big man felt humiliated being disobeyed by a mere slave, especially now that he was in the presence of his employer and a valuable customer. He opened his mouth to yell at the arrogant bastard again when Scarlet's voice stopped him.

"That's enough! Let him stand..."

The big man bowed his head in submission since he could never disobey a customer.

"Take his chains off." she ordered the auction owner but he immediately stated his concerns regarding her decision.

"I'm sorry but I must advice against it, my lady. This man is highly dangerous. If we don't restraint him especially without a slave contract formed, he will kill you the moment we take off his chains."

But Scarlet didn't listen to his words. He doesn't know that they already knew each other, and that he won't hurt her. However, to lessen his worries she spoke, "Don't worry. I'm not afraid of death. Take his chains off." she said dismissively.

"But, my lady. It's against my auction house' protocol." The owner wanted to argue some more but stopped himself when Scarlet lifted her finger to shut him up.

"Silence..." she said, her tone ice biting cold. "I won't be hearing another word of this or else, I'll take my money back, and I will terminate my membership here."

The owner swallowed hard.

"So, which is it?"

He sighed, "Very well, my lady." he now realize that this valuable customer of his had a very stubborn personality. And she won't take no for an answer.

"Take them off, Vel." He ordered his men and just like their employer, they were reluctant, but they removed the chains anyway, slowly, until Jasper was finally freed from them.

Talon ȧssumed a defensive stance behind Scarlet. If this slave tries anything funny and attempts to hurt the queen, he will cut his flesh to pieces without mercy.

"Come to me," Scarlet said and waved her hand, gesturing for Ishid to approach her.

The owner tensed at what she was doing. "Miss, this man is prideful in nature. He won't do what you tell him to…" his voice gradually died down until it was only silence when the owner saw the man approach Scarlet without attempting to break her neck or rip her throat out.

When Ishid was in front of her, Scarlet stood up and reached for his cheeks. He tilted his head up, looking into his eyes before saying, "Kneel."

Everyone's jaw dropped except Talon when Ishid really did kneel in front of Scarlet.

She smiled, "Starting today I am your master, even without the slave contract your soul belongs to me."

"Yes..."

Talon didn't flinch and relaxed his posture at this scene. Seems like this man is not a threat to her majesty...

But still, he will observe him some more. Some people are good at hiding their evil intentions.

And maybe, he's one of them.
