Scarlet's Awakening

Scarlet cleared her throat, "Let's end our talk for now." She said and Jasper completely understood what she was trying to say. He immediately dispelled the air pocket around them. "I'll be expecting you to do your duties earnestly tomorrow then. I believe you won't disappoint me." She said, returning back to her queen mode state.

She offered her hand and Jasper slightly bowed his head and placed a chaste yet lingering kiss at the back of her hand. "Absolutely, my queen."

After that, Scarlet called for Talon and he immediately appeared before her behind Jasper's back.

"You called for me, my queen?" he asked.

"I'll be resting now. Tell Aqua I won't be eating."

"Yes."

Scarlet turnaround and left the two by themselves. If she stays there she might end up staring at hand where Ishid kissed her just now. She blushed at the thought of his lips touching the back of her hand.

Scarlet shook her head and directly went to her tent and nodded at the two guards who saluted her when she approached. Sighing, she went inside and directly to her bed. After that she studied the furniture inside her tent; there was a bear skin rug on the ground, a table with a clean paper and ink already prepared for her when she decides to write something, a body length mirror in one corner to see her reflection, 4 candle stands at each corner of her tent making the inside of the tent warm and possibly homey, and a stand where her old armor was displayed.

Scarlet stood up and studied the armor closely. If she can remember correctly this was the armor Scarlet wore during the great war of the realms. Every part of the full metallic red armor was made from an ancient steel called Litherite, it's a very rare metal taken from artifacts left by the olden Gods that was said to be indestructible. Her armor was custom made for her by the best craftsmen from the dwarfen realm but her armor still falls short to the complete battle armors of the olden Gods with was said to be capable of transforming and upgrading themselves during battle. But anyway, even though her armor was a poor imitation of the legendary weapons that existed before the Gods disappeared, she's still thankful that it was able to protect without fail in battle.

"Your majesty!" Scarlet turned around when a guard from outside her tent suddenly shouted. "Lady Aqua wants to have a word with you."

"Let her in." Afterwards, a worried looking Aqua appeared before her. "I told Talon I was going to rest." She said, indicating that she didn't want to be disturbed.

Aqua solemnly bowed her head to show her, her apology. "I'm just worried about your healthy, your majesty. If Eireen hears about you skipping your meals she will get angry with me."

"*Sigh* Did you talk to her?" she asked. On their way to Donatel, she ordered Aqua to contact Eireen though telepathy. It seems that the mermaid queen has already succeeded.

"Yes. She said she'll be waiting for us tomorrow at the gates of the city to meet you."

"Very well, I'll do what you ask. Also, tell Talon that we'll be moving out at dawn tomorrow so that we can reach Donatel earlier."

"As you wish."

When Aqua left, a maid immediately brought in her food and placed it in the working table after pushing aside her writing materials.

"Thank you…"

The maid silently bowed and then left.

Scarlet went to see what her dinner was and lifted the tray. "Hmm. Steak…"

"I love steaks!" suddenly, a little fairy came out of Scarlet's ċhėst. It was Navy. It seems that she grew restless waiting inside her head during the whole duration of the travel. .

"You want this?" Scarlet pointed at the steak and the little fairy's eyes widened in anticipation. Look whose hungry…

"Uh-hng!" Navy heartily nodded her head. "Can I? Can I?"

"I thought you were only a figment of my imagination?"

"Well, technically, I am. But I can also get out and interact in the outside world if you permit me to do so."

Scarlet stared at the midget before her. "You really want to eat this huh?"

"Yes! I haven't tried eating something yet so I wanna try. I discovered in your past memories that steaks are really juicy and delicious and I want to try one myself!"

"Hmm. Fine. You can come out and eat this. I'm really not hungry anyway so…"

"Really? Really? Really?" the little midget bounced up and down in delight and excitement.

"Yes. Now come out before I change my mind."

A mirror like portal appeared before her and she stepped into it, her little body finally present in the real world.

"Thank you, mistress!"

Scarlet waved her hand and casually sat on a chair. "No worries."

Navy immediately started eating the steak by cutting it into little tiny pieced with her magic. "Hnng! So yummy!" she was in pure bliss when she first tasted a slice of the juicy steak and Scarlet watched the expressions on her face while she continued to eat with gusto.

"So, how's the work I asked you to do?" she asked while Navy ate.

Navy looked up, her cheeks adorably puffed up with food. She forced herself to swallow and then answered.

"It's almost done! Actually, I had a hard time recreating it but after studying Scarlet's knowledge about this world, I was able to make a close yet modified replica of the machine."

Scarlet smiled. "That's good. When do you think will you be finished with it?"

"Hmm. Tomorrow afternoon I guess."

"Very well, I will wait for you to tell me when you're done then I give you a reward."

Her eyes started twinkling like stars. "A reward?"

"Yes. A reward."

"Can I ask for food?"

"Sure. What do you wanna eat?"

"I want to eat some ice cream! Any flavor would do."

"Ice cream it is. I'll personally make you one after you complete the machine for me."

"Okay!" Navy saluted, red steak sauce smearing the corner of her lips. "Roger that boss!"
