Scarlet's Awakening

Chapter 51 - Let her go...

The continuation inside Eigeel's office...

"When your queen fell in to a coma her soul travelled into another world." Cariyah explained while she sat in front of Eigeel, her posture relaxed and confident like her entirety belonged to the place. Her presence inside the dreary four-walled office brought a sense of carefreeness to it as her expression remained serious as she continued, "In that world- where magic doesn't exist- your queen lived her life as a mortal woman, not knowing about the life she left behind, she already formed a different version of herself in that world. When she died, her soul was forced to come back, hence... the divide in her soul…"

Eigeel stared at the witch and didn't reply to her words.

If he didn't know this woman to be trustworthy when doing her job- especially when something valuable was in exchange for it- he would've doubted everything that she had said. But now that she explained everything with clarity, filling all the holes of his suspicion, he was completely and utterly bought out.

Her words makes actual sense.

"If what you say is true then you mean to say…"

The witch, Cariyah nodded. Already guessing the question he wanted to ask. "Yes, you're right... They are both one, and the same person."

Eigeel couldn't stop from exhaling loudly after hearing this news as the relief flooded his ċhėst. He feared he was serving a false master when Scarlet woke up again, but now... all of his worries became ashes in the wind.

"However," the witch suddenly spoke, putting a hard brake on his celebration, "Your queen believes she's not the real... her."

Eigeel frowned, "What are you talking about?"

"She thinks of herself as a reincarnated soul, Eigeel, something that didn't belong to this world and was sent here to live a new life for some unfathomable reason."

Eigeel suddenly became lost in thought.

"...Is that the only reason why she can't get inside her own dimensional storage room?" Eigeels asked and he was answered with a silent nod by the witch.

"Yes..."

Eigeel nodded. Now everything makes sense! "That must be the reason why she was thrown out to the other dimension when she attempted enter her dimensional storage room. I've been wondering for days why she was thrown out but now I'm certain as to why."

He's pretty smart, Cariyah thought as she stared at the golden dragon in human form who was in deep thought. "Yes. The only way for her to get back to her former self and regain control of what she owned is when she starts to accept herself, wholly. The dimensional storage room only recognizes one master, and if she's unsure of herself, then she's simply not its owner..."

Eigeel nodded in agreement to her words because all that she said was right. It was the only way for Scarlet to really claim everything that she left behind and those things are inside her dimentional storage room. "What do I have to do to help her?" he asked.

Cariyah stared at him, "That I do not know…" she replied, "But letting your queen rediscover herself might actually help her, I think."

"How can you say so?''

"I know so..." she said, her eyes unwavering as she said those words, "You cannot chain your queen to this place, Eigeel, you have to let her go free to rediscover herself."

"Rediscover herself..." Eigeel contemplated her words carefully, "If I send her to the human realm. Would it perhaps help her remember her real identity?" .

The witch shrugged, "Maybe? Maybe not? The human realm is not a dangerous place. So, it's safe for her to be there. However, you can't interfere with her life. You really have to give her the absolute freedom to find herself because in time, she will eventually come to realize everything and the only thing you could do is to watch over her..."

"I understand…" Eigeel sighed. 'Whatever needs to be done, must be done', Scarlet used to say that to him all the time when they were working together hunting all the artifacts they find. That's why Eigeel knew what he had to do to bring her back, and he will do everything in his power to do so because he made her a promise.

"Thank you for your services, Cariyah." He stood up and looked outside his window.

"Of course," The witch stood up with a faint smile on her lips. "You ought to receive the best service I could give in exchange for your soul…"

Eigeel gave her a slight nod, "Right, my payment…" Without another word, Eigeel took out his soul by pressing his hand on his ċhėst. Eigeel's soul glowed as it appeared in form of a yellow- almost golden- flame. The small fire danced in his palms as he handed it over to the witch. "As promised, a quarter of my soul."

"Extraordinary," Cariyah involuntarily licked her lips as she examined the soul in her palms with interest. She grinned. "Thank you, Eigeel. I'm sure this... thing will come in handy one day." She said, looking at him before putting it away by clenching her fist.

Eigeel watched her as Cariyah stood from her seat, her long mysterious, black cloak covering her attire. "It was a pŀėȧsurė doing business with you." Eigeel nodded and the witch smiled as she disappeared in his office like a mist in the night. Her entire presence gone.

Eigeel to look outside his window once again, his eyes over looking the whole city. His thoughts dwelled on the advice Cariyah just told him. Now that he knows the truth, he's formulating a plan to send Scarlet in an impromptu vacation to the human realm the very moment she returns home with his sister, Eireen from Donatel.
