When everyone, with the exception of Ila and Hermiod, heard Ila say that he was cousins with Janus, they again were speechless. McKay especially was the most shocked. First he meets a living breathing Ancient. Then the Ancient goes and says that he is cousins with the famous Ancient scientist that build the time jumper and made the failsafe that made Atlantis rise! He was in a daze.

Ila saw this and was confused. He asked, "What's the matter. Janus was just smarter than the rest of the Lanteans. Some would say we were equals but both me and him knew that if I had focused solely on the same field as him, he wouldn't hold a candle to me. I divided my attention between a lot of different fields. Before I was made captain of the Invictus, I was working on a virus that could have wiped out the Wraith. It would have made them unable to feed and their sh.i.p.s unable to support their own weight. I was also working on a personal stargate. But the council decided that it was too risky and that it was a better idea to make me captain of a ship and send me to the front lines. Stupid people I tell you. I do remember Janus working on something similar to my virus but it also had a huge side effect. He called it the Attero device or something."

Sheppard says, "Well, I guess I should thank you for what your cousin has done for us. If it wasn't for him building the time jumper we wouldn't be here."

"What do you mean? And why do you call the gatesh.i.p.s as jumpers?"

"Well to answer the jumper question first. We call them Puddle Jumpers because on Earth it is slang for a small plane intended for short distance flights, and also because the stargate event horizon looks like a puddle. So I decided to name it like that because of its double meaning. And to answer the other question, it's because apparently when we first stepped through the stargate onto Atlantis, there wasn't a fail safe mechanism to make the city rise when there was no more power left to power the shields. The shields failed and the whole city flooded. We tried to escape using the jumpers and the time jumper was among the jumpers in the jumper bay. Me, Dr. Zelenka, a member of our expedition, and Dr. Weir, head of our expedition were in the time jumper. When I activated the jumper it sent us back 10,000 years to the past before the ancients left Atlantis. Apparently Zelenka and I died when we crashed into the ocean but Dr. Weir survived. She was rescued by Janus. When Janus learned of what happens in the future, he first tried to appeal to the council to send her back through the time jumper but they disagreed. He the made it so that the zpms work one after another to preserve power and had that Dr. Weir go into stasis and come out every 3.3 thousand years to rotate the zpms. And he also put in a failsafe mechanism for the city to rise in the event that she wasn't able to come out of stasis to do so."

"I see... Anyway, I don't think you should bother with Project Arcturus, you wouldn't be able to finish it anyway. Even Janus and I working together it would take us a year or two. But I digress. I am quite excited to get back home after being away for 10,000 years. And I'd also like to meet this Dr. Weir you mentioned."

Caldwell replies, "It would be our honor to welcome an Ancient to Atlantis. We can immediately head to Atlantis if you wish."

Ila smiles and replies, "Let's go then. I'll see you guys down in Atlantis then."

McKay, Sheppard, Caldwell, and Hermiod disappeared into flashes of light as they were beamed back to the Daedalus. Ila set the coordinates for Atlantis into the navigation system. He waited till the Daedalus opened up a hyperspace window and followed suit.

Both sh.i.p.s arrived in orbit over Lantea a few hours later. Chuck in the control room detected the Daedalus and an unknown ship come out of hyperspace in orbit. He immediately called for Weir who came rushing out of her office. The second she stepped into the control room, four bright flashes appeared and revealed Sheppard, McKay, Caldwell and an unknown handsome man.

She asked, "So, who's this?"

Sheppard was about to reply when he was interrupted by McKay. "He is Captain Ila Ultum of the Lantean warship Invictus! He came from 10,000 years in the past! And he is also Janus' cousin!" McKay was out of breath as he said this.

Weir was stunned before recovering and asking Ila, "You are an Ancient? How did you get here?"

"I was ambushed by the Wraith and while I was retreating one of them got lucky and shot my hyperspace window. It caused an explosion. Then next thing I knew I was over Doranda and was being hailed by your ship, the Daedalus."

"So you somehow traveled in time and ended up in orbit around Doranda?"

"Yes. I found it quite weird also. I had set course for Lantea but it sent me to Doranda. It's either a really big coincidence that I emerged where your ship was or maybe it was my mother helping me out. She had ascended a few years before I become captain of the Invictus. Maybe she knew that you were people I could trust. Oh well, it doesn't matter too much now. If you don't mind, I would like to rest for a bit and get everything in order. I may seem like I'm taking it pretty well but it is all a facade so as not to give the wrong impression to one of you."

Weir replied, "Yeah sure. Do you need someone to guide you to a room or bring you food?"

"No, I will go to my personal laboratory. It's mostly where I spent most of my time 10,000 years ago. It has its own bed and everything. I also don't require food at the moment. My physiology allows me to go a month without food comfortably. I did try ascension at one point but decided against it because I had to many things to do and ascending would prevent me from doing those things. Now, if you'll excuse me."

Ila heads towards one of the transporters and selects one of the outer city spots. The East pier tallest tower to be exact. The doors close and Ila was gone. Weir, Sheppard, McKay and Caldwell stare for a second before each heading their own way. Weir asks Chuck, "Can you track him on the sensors and send me his location? I want to talk with him."

Chuck replies in the affirmative, "Sure thing Dr. Weir. I'll send it to your tablet."

Weir receives the information and makes her way towards the transporter. She thinks to herself, 'Well, this wasn't something I was expecting. I hope that he can help us with the knowledge he contains.' She enters the transporter, selects the East pier and disappears.
