MIA'S POV:

It's been a year since I'm able to practice magic. Not anything flashy. Just telepathy with my familiar, Gresil.

Gresil is an exceed. He decided to follow me, so I brought him with me through soul contract. He is like a cat now.

Mum had no problem with him. He's one charming kitten after all.

He's very frustrated right now.

[I miss my wings, Mia.]

'It's alright. They'd grow back soon Gresil.'

[Sigh…]

Yes, it took a lot of magic to make him hatch early and able to bond with him again.

A good exercise but nothing holds a candle to expanding my Second Origin.

I recently discovered the fact that my magic, i.e, First and Second Origin are rapidly growing. They expand every time I'm out of magic.

[Don't you feel bored Mia?]

'I can't do anything else. Mum should not detect it.'

[Ugh...yeah. She was scary, much scarier than Erza]

I chuckled as he reminisced about the time when mum saw me doing magic. She was downright demonic when she chided me. Her sweet smile was especially fear-inducing. I want to learn that…

But Gresil's got a point. Just doing telepathy and some meagre telekinesis is boring. I think of other types of magic I can do without anyone perceiving it.

Let's see...Alchemy? No. Dragon Slayer Magic? A little risky, so no. Transformation? I can change my clothes, but there's a chance that mum might notice, so no....

After some thought these are the magic I can practise: Charm magic, legilimency, occlumency.

I merely need to go to the garden to charm few creatures.

I can try legilimency on Gresil, he doesn't have a problem. I don't dare to do it on mom or grandma. I can tell those two are very powerful occlumens and skilled in legilimency. I'm a goner if they try it on me. I need to stay far from suspicions.

And since it's autumn now, who knows, maybe I can manage to practice Dragon Slayer Magic if I'm lucky…

So another year went by...and I became proficient in mind arts. I'm 'magically' capable now.

I should now proceed with my plan: to coax my grandma and mum.

Let's talk with them tomorrow.

REBEKAH'S POV:

I sat on my couch and enjoy the tea my daughter personally brew. Aurora prepares brilliant teas. We both silently do our reading. Who knew muggle psychology would be so fascinating.

Very few appreciated them.

"Mom, Grandma."

I heard my Mia's mellow voice. A smile stretched into my face as I knew what she was here for. This would be so intriguing to watch. At long last, it's my turn to enjoy my daughter's troubles with parenting.

"Yes darling." I happily chirped.

"I want to do magic." Mia's adorable face was profoundly serious.

This kid...she really decided to do magic. Sigh…

"No, love. You are too young for that." As expected, my daughter disagreed.

"But I want too. I'm so bored." Wow, my little granddaughter is finally throwing a tantrum.

"Well, if you're bored, you can always play with-"

"No, thank you. I don't want to play with other kids. They're dull."

"...How about reading love?"

"You've read me every fairytale there is, mom."

.

As much fun it is to watch them like this, I know that I have to intervene now. My daughter's a bit s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e right now and Mia was always too sensible to hurt her.

Mia was unique. I knew it. She is different from the rest, like every Morgan witch.

"Alright. Both of you stop bickering now."

They both looked at me as I said it.

"I'll take care of Mia's magic training, Aurora."

"Mom? Are you serious?" my daughter still disapproved.

'Aurora, we will talk about it later. Not in front of Mia.' I disclosed her telepathically.

Thankfully, my daughter got the hint and stayed sullen, won't be arguing any further.

"Are you really allowing me to do magic?" she said 'allowing' and not 'teaching.' I knew it. She was already able to magic and hid it from both of us...

"By all means." It's better I overlook her training myself than to let her do it secretly.

"Thank you Grandma! I love you!" the little girl hugged and pecked me in happiness.

And my daughter not happy with the way things are.

"Now, little pumpkin, go inside. I need to talk to your mother."

"Okay!"

I heaved another sigh.

"What were you thinking mother? She asked to do magic, not to play with her dolls!"

"Calm down, Aurora. I know what I'm doing."

"Then it is absurd! Letting a three year old do magic."

"You're forgetting when you started training."

My daughter recalled the good old times.

"...I started training at four, mother."

"You secretly did it since you learnt how to speak. Don't think for a second that I didn't notice the increase of burnt things at home back then."

"...I was able to control it."

"So is Mia."

"She just did magic once."

"Sigh...so you think. Then allow me to tell you, Mia's magic is growing. Not naturally."

"What?!"

"Yes, Aurora. She must be practicing magic for some time now. Her reserves are larger than an a.d.u.l.t."

"All of us have large magic reserves mother."

"And she has considerably larger ones. You very well know that."

"I...just want her to enjoy a little. She's too young. She won't be able to handle her powers."

"She is strong, Aurora."

"No! She wants to be strong mother! And I made her feel like that. I made my own daughter feel she needs to be strong! I-"

"Hush, darling, don't cry. You did nothing wrong."

"I don't know...she is growing up too fast. Like she's in a hurry. Like she doesn't want to depend on me. For Merlin's sake! She's still a little girl and she wants to leave me already! What do I do?"

"You got it wrong, Aurora." I spent the afternoon consoling my daughter, just like I remember my mother did to me.
