Tales Of Good And Evil

Under the evening's clear orange sky, a 2022 Audi A6 flew down the highway, going more than 120 km/h. By its wheel, sat a handsome middle-aged man with a well-built body. His hair was pitch-black and short. His eyes were dark green and sharp. His beard and moustache were shaved, but they were beginning to grow out, even though he shaved them just before going work early in the morning. He wore a black business suit with a white shirt underneath, which's top button was unbuttoned. His name was Richard Vice.

Suddenly, the OLED screen which was to the right of the steering wheel lit up and started blinking every half of a second while ringing sounds started to sound from the car's speakers.

Glancing at the OLED screen with his right eye, Richard saw that his wife was calling him. "Answer," he said out loud.

"Where are you right now?" a beautiful, pleasing to the ear voice sounded from the car's speakers.

"I am driving home," Richard answered as soon as he heard his wife's question.

"So you already bought Tommie's birthday present?" his wife asked Richard another question.

"I did," his second answer, like the first one, was an immediate one. "I bought a virtual reality headset with that VR game."

However this time, his wife didn't ask Richard another question, she just said, "Tommie got an F."

Richard's eyes widened and he spaced out as he never expected that their son would ever fail at anything. What he expected was that their son would be just like them. And they both were very exceptional individuals. He was the CEO of the multi-billion-euro company while she was the most beautiful and popular actress on the planet.

Richard recovered from his shock a short moment later, and his eyes immediately widened as he saw a truck coming straight for him. "F.u.c.k!" he shouted out. Following which, he smashed the brakes, but it made little difference as the two vehicles still collided with one another and it got dark for both Richard and for the driver of the truck.

"What happened?" Richard grumbled as he opened his eyes. When they finally opened, however, they widened from shock as he saw something that was taken out of a video game, a movie or a book.

In front of him, stood a table that was ten meters high and a hundred meters wide. On the desk, laid a thin black book. Behind the desk, sat a giant with grey skin, wrinkled old face, two straight black horns sticking out of the top of his skull, black long hair and a black long beard.

But those were not the only things that Richard saw. Above the giant's head, he saw a name, a level and a health bar.

But that was still not everything. At the top-right corner of his view, Richard saw a small icon and at the top-left corner of his view – a health bar.

King Yama looked down at Richard and Richard recalled that his car collided with the truck. He closed his eyes. "I died—and now I am face to face with King Yama," he thought. "I will now get reincarnated and begin my life anew." He opened his eyes. "But why am I seeing the HUD elements from that VR game that I bought?!"

A broad smile appeared on King Yama's face. "You are an individual that I was waiting for, Richard," he said. "An individual that always exceeds expectations. No matter what they might be."

Richard slowly nodded his head as he agreed with what King Yama had said.

"I will not reincarnate you, Richard," King Yama said.

"What?!" Richard couldn't help but shout out as he always believed that after death, he would get reincarnated and would begin his life anew.

"Let me finish, Richard," King Yama said. "I will send you over into another world. My expectation of you is only one, kill Cain before he destroys it and all the other worlds that exist. And don't ask me to reincarnate you. Because the truth of the matter is that I can't as you are on your last life's cycle."

Sighing out a sigh of relief, Richard nodded his head. "Alright," he said and thought, "I will do anything if it means that my life won't just end."

"That's awesome!" Richard heard a voice from his left and he looked in that direction. There, he saw a slim youth of around nineteen-years-old with average looks, medium-length brown hair, and wearing a dirty white t-shirt and dirty sweats. "Is it a fantasy world? If so, then can you send me over into that world as well?" the nineteen-year-old youth continued.

King Yama looked from Richard to the nineteen-year-old youth. "From your perspective it is indeed a fantasy world," he said. "I can send you into that world as well. But are you sure? I can still reincarnate you as you are not on your life's last cycle."

"I don't care about that," the nineteen-year-old youth almost shouted out before saying, "Please send me into the same fantasy world you are sending Richard."

"Don't be stupid," Richard said.

The nineteen-year-old youth looked at Richard and frowned. "I am not being stupid. It was my dream from when I was just a child to live in a fantasy world."

"No, you are being stupid," Richard said. "No one smart would go to a place where they have no relatives and no knowledge of."

"Then you are just as stupid as me!" the nineteen-year-old youth shouted out.

"I have no choice," Richard said. "But you do."

The nineteen-year-old youth harrumphed and that was when King Yama said, "Enough."

Richard and the nineteen-year-old youth looked away from each other and looked at King Yama.

"Jonal," King Yama said. "Do you want to get reincarnated or do you want to go to the same world as Richard?"

"I want to go to the same fantasy world as Richard," Jonal said without any hesitation and Richard shook his head.

"I understand," King Yama said." But before I send you both over to that world, I will first bestow you both with abilities that will help you in that world."

Jonal's eyes lit up while Richard slightly bowed his head.

"Thank you, King Yama," they both said in unison.

"First," King Yama said. "I will make that you both are unable to age and so neither of you will be able to die of old age. Second, I will make that both of your physical abilities will be superior to those of other humans. Finally, are there any abilities that you two wish to have?"

"Can you give us both a HUD?" Jonal said and Richard glanced at him.

"So he doesn't have a HUD as I do," Richard thought.

"HUD?" King Yama said.

"You know," Jonal said. "Make it that I can see my level and a health bar, and anyone that I look at level and a health bar."

King Yama shook his head.

Jonal frowned.

Richard inwardly sighed before saying, "King Yama. I can see the HUD that Jonal is talking about. Can you perhaps duplicate my condition onto him?"

Jonal looked at Richard. "You can see the HUD?"

Richard looked at Jonal. "Yes, I was able to see it the moment I appeared here."

Jonal looked at King Yama. Following which, Richard did the same.

"Give me a moment," King Yama said.

A few minutes passed.

"It's done," King Yama said and Jonal burst into laughter. After which, King Yama said, "What other abilities do you two wish to have?"

"Can you give us overpowered classes?" Jonal said.

Richard looked at Jonal. "King Yama won't know what you are talking about," he said before King Yama could answer and King Yama nodded his head as he agreed with Richard's words.

Jonal sighed and shook his head. "I don't know what to ask then—wait I know, can you change our races from humans to something cooler? Like werewolves or vampires?"

"I can reincarnate you into one of them if you want," King Yama said.

"Then, there is no need," Jonal said as he shook his head once again. "Just send me over into that fantasy world."

"Very well," King Yama said. He raised his arm and a pen appeared in his hand. He wrote something in the black book after opening it and Jonal was engulfed in a sphere of darkness. He disappeared.

"What about you, Richard," King Yama said. "Do you have any abilities that you wish to have, or can I send you over as well?"

"I don't want any abilities," Richard said. "I just want to know about that world that you are sending me to and about Cain."
