Tales Of The Necromancer: Ling Tian

Ling Tian looked around the city. It was bustling. He could see many people in outfits with a sword in their sheathe. They too wore a silver or bronze tag.

Ling Tian guessed that the tag was some sort of sign that tells their adventurer rank. The adventurer ranks are as follows: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.

But Ling Tian wondered why there was no gold or platinum adventurer here.

"This is the real Adventurer's Guild. The latter was just a facade to cover their riches. It was just a disguise."

A bewitching calm voice sounded out. The owner of this voice was of course the elf, Anna. She looked like she was used to this reaction.

Ling Tian nodded blanky, he was shocked at this underground city. As you know, digging cause a fortune as they don't have the right tools to dig.

Even building a city underground cause a fortune. As one wrong mistake can make the underground space collapse.

But another problem is air. Humans can't live with air. So they must have used wind magic artifacts, artifacts cost millions of gold... So the Adventurer's Guild must have used atleast platinum coins.

Ling Tian spoke,

"This must have cost a fortune for the Adventurer's Guild. But where did the money come from?" He said while frowning.

Anna replied back calmly,

"We are backed by the government and that little bit of money is only 1/10 of its money in the coffins."

"You are backed by the government?! I thought you were independent?!" said Ling Tian shocked.

"Well... That was years ago... We and the government had an agreement." said the elf.

Ling Tian tried to inquire more information from the elf,

"What agreement did you have with the government?"

Anna replied,

"Of course, that is a secret. Only people in the Adventurer's Guild that had a higher position can access this information." said Anna with a smile.

But then Ling Tian frowned and thought,

'Then that means that she has a high position in the Adventurer's Guild, right?' He thought. He tried to test the waters.

"Then that means you have a high position in the guild. For you to access this information then I must be right. Or you stole information."

The smile in Anna disappeared for a moment, but then she smiled again as if nothing happend,

"Now now, let's put that aside shall we? Here in our front is the quest chambers. This is where you can get quests." She said as she tried to change the conversation and pointed her fingers in front of them.

Ling Tian frowned at the try of her to change the conversation but he couldn't anything about it.

Anna continued to explain about the quest chambers,

"There are certain quest that upgrades your adventurer rank. These quest are called rank upgrade quests." She explained...
