The Adventurer System

Chapter 13 - Boss Room

As soon as he slowly opened his eyes, he realized he was lying on the curvy ground.

"Where am I?" In the darkness, he asked himself where the only thing he was knew he has drowned again inside the perilous place.

Yumiro thrust his hands forward, trying to determine what kind of objects were in front of him.

Click!

His finger bent as he touched a slick, sharp thing on the wall, which worried him.

"Jeez! In the meantime, I'll log out and ask Amiya what happened to my character." Yumiro opened the function screen and used his finger to scroll down a little.

The blue view screen that appeared right in front of his eyes assisted him in making some parts of this location visible.

He decided to pause for a moment in order to find out where the blue portal had taken him.

He noticed a golden-brown wall 8 meters away, and the rest was surrounded by partial darkness. In this case, he couldn't help but return his gaze to the elevated blue view screen in asked to log out of this game since he had no idea what was going on.

"Eh? Why did the log-out icon suddenly vanish?" He double-checked the system function, thinking he had overlooked the icon.

"Why am I unable to log out? What exactly is going on here?" Yumiro asked himself calmly as he knew he still one way out of the darkness.

"Inventory..." He stated, and then a transparent crystal appeared in his left grasp.

As he saved the location of the Adventurer Capital in his mind. He won't have to worry about anything because he'll be teleported there right away. And his plan is to log out as soon as he arrived at the Adventure Capital.

"Bring me to the Adventure Capital"

Yumiro activated the teleportation crystal, and a new red viewscreen flashed in front of his eyes. It has seemed to have been the system's notification.

[The teleportation attempt failed!]

[Error!]

[Error!]

A red screen kept flashing in front of his whiskey eyes, along with obnoxious sounds. So he decided to close all the tabs to avoid feeling tense. He knew that if he panicked, it would ruin his mental state.

He then leaned back against the rough wall. "I was looking for the source of the monster growl the last time I remember. Then I noticed a blue portal... What should I do in this situation?"

...

On the other hand, all of the adventurers inside the VR world were temporarily paused. They were curious to see what would happen in the blue skies.

Furthermore, adventurers in the real world were keeping an eye on the young man who had been posting on all social media platforms since Grim Draigh's expedition was broadcasted by the system.

"Yet another player will perish."

"Grim Draigh? Nice screen name, but you'd perish in the forest, boss."

"What exactly is the system doing? Why are they allowing adventurers of level 12 to fight a tough monster?"

The adventurers continued to deliver harsh side comments to the young man who entered the boss room. That was appropriate for level 20-25 adventurers.

Since the system spread, a new event has occurred for everyone. All of the adventures quickly logged in to find out what the outcome of Grim Draigh's expedition would be.

From a distance, there was a blonde woman gazing confidently at the blue skies. It was Roshy.

"Hahaha! I thought I could conceal your existence. But look at yourself now; you've become an instant celebrity." Roshy burst out laughing despite the presence of a middle-aged man and a blue-haired woman next to her. Those adventurers appeared to be concerned about Yumiro's condition.

Then, all of a sudden, those adventurers glared at Roshy with rage in their eyes. This woman, they reasoned, was one of the adventurers who wished to see an adventurer die erratically.

"It appears you're relieved to see this young man die, huh?" With a gruff tone, the middle-aged man said.

"Eh? What is your name? And what about you? Why are you staring at me, knowing that I made a mistake in front of both of you?" Roshy indicated them with her finger.

She was certain that this was the first time she had met those adventurers, so she was offended by how they approached her.

"It doesn't matter who we are because we haven't confronted you for that reason. We're here to remind you that you shouldn't be happy every time you see an adventurer about to die." The woman with blue hair said this while pointing her index finger at the blue screen in this blue sky. A young man sat beside the brown wall where you could see him.

Roshy laughed once more. "I-It seems that both of you didn't understand why I'm laughing, doesn't it?" Roshy responded with a sly grin on her face.

They were both staring at her. "How come?" They said it at once.

Roshy opened her function screen, then scrolled a bit to show his friend list.

[Friend(s) list: Grim Draigh- online]

"I believe you comprehended the reason. Yes, I recognize him, but I'm also the only adventurer who believes he can defeat the monster in this location." Roshy said, then averted her gaze to the blue sky.

The middle-aged man came to a halt to question her, but the blue-haired woman was still not convinced by what Roshy showed them, as she continued to throw words at them.

"Even if you know him, his level and capabilities are insufficient to defeat the boss."

"Ahh! You're annoying; just watch him and you'll be surprised at what he's capable of." Roshy returned her gaze to the screen and murmured some words that only she could hear. "Exactly what he did to me."

Back in the darkness, Yumiro gradually pushed himself to a standing position as the torches placed on the rough wall began to ignite automatically.

"What they didn't light much earlier so I could get out of here." Yumiro mumbled, then realized he was at a dead end. And in front of him was a tunnel, which was the only place he could walk.

"Because I'm unfamiliar with this location, I shouldn't act hastily."

The first thing he did was inspect the tunnel entrance for any monsters that might be lurking inside.

"I can see the area clearly because the torches are positioned at an unbalanced distance, so there is still some darkness." He squinted since he couldn't see the end of the straight tunnel.

It couldn't help him; he had to walk through the tunnel as it was the only way out of this suffocating place.

"I only have one and a half hours until I have to return to the real world because Amiya will be furious if I don't." He can't stop trembling after spitting those words. As he remembered when his little sister scowled at her.

He entered after being assured that there were no threats or traps waiting for him. Despite this, the only sound he could hear was the torches lighting up.

"I think I should keep moving..." Yumiro was carefully observing the area because there was a chance that a swarm of monsters would rush to him, and he knew he wasn't in a good position to fight back.

Ribbit!

Ribbit!

He heard the monster's sound once more; it was the sound he heard before teleporting into this location. "How come I can still hear this monstrosity?"

Ribbit!

Ribbit!

That sound was made by the monstwe getting louder and louder as he got closer to the creature.

However, it appeared that the tunnel would not consume all of his time because, after 10 minutes, Yumiro had already seen the arc, which was most likely the endpoint.

"Phew! Thank you; I'm free to leave." He sighed of relief and took a step away from the scene.

Swoosh!

As his feet touched the small stairs leading to the vast platform, the torches automatically re-ignited. He looked around and noticed that the platform was completely empty, with only the four frog statues visible in each corner.

Yumiro did not engage in any risky behavior because the environment was unfamiliar to him. After that, he discovered that there was no way out of this place, but beside the small stairs, there was a glowing blue line that drew his attention.

"What happens now?" Yumiro decided to continue his walk it was the only option he had at the time while he was inside the place where there was nowhere to go.

When his foot crossed the blue line, a black portal appeared in the center of the vast platform. The portal then began to crack as the monster's green arms gradually revealed themselves.

Yumiro attempted to take a step back from the vast platform as he saw the monster approaching, which was far more dangerous than the previous monster he had fought.

Bam!

"Wait, why did this thing appear out of nowhere?" He collided with an invisible barrier, which pushed him to the ground.

He caught a glimpse back as he realized the monster could appear at any time. "This isn't good; I need to fight a powerful monster." He murmured to himself, but its appearance did not cause Yumiro's body to shiver.

....

Roshy appeared to smile on the Adventure capital as her eagerness to witness Yumiro's fighting ability completely came.

"Good luck, Grim, and show me what you've got!" Roshy confidently encouraged Yumiro.

.....

The monster emerged fully from the black portal, and Yumiro saw a green frog with the body of a fighter tank.

"Oh, you're the monster calling me out; let's settle this match." He charged at the monster, unconcerned about its capabilities.

This was the decisive moment, and all of the top guild leaders were already watching him. Yumiro currently has two options: be slain by the green frog or survive in a dangerous location and collect rare dropped items.

"I'm going to put an end to this!"
