The Adventurer System

Chapter 12 - Behind The Bushes

As he arrived at the new location known as Tyrant forest, his nose detected the scent of green grasses. His feet made contact with the surface, which was smooth enough for him to move around on.

Ahuu!

When the adventurer charged at them without hesitation, the dire wolves growled aggressively.

Ahuu!

Swish!

"What?!"

Yumiro was taken aback when the two dire wolves leapt into the bushes and hid. Since this monster specialized in sneak attacks, the monsters had a chance to win if they concealed their presence.

"Where have they gone?" He kept stomping his left foot on the green grasses, trying to see if the monsters would notice his move.

"Jeez! This is much more difficult than I anticipated."

Because Yumiro was no longer inside the Rank-F forest, the monsters in the Tyrant forest were more intelligent than the monster he had previously fought. The difference between the two forests is that the monster in this forest has a fighting strategy that is determined by how the system programs them.

Swish!

Then, all of a sudden, he looked to his right side, where the monster was flitting through the high bushes. But he didn't see anything.

Swish!

"Ahh! That can't be!" Yumiro crossed his arms immediately as the monster on his left side had already launched a sneak attack.

Swoosh!

Yumiro's left arm was slashed by the dire wolf's hardened keen claws. However, his arm was the most visible part of his body, it sustained some damage.

[Your health power has dropped by 8%]

[10/10 remaining health potion]

As soon as he focused his attention on the wolf who had attacked him, his right shoulder was hit with another sharp claw.

[Your health power has been reduced by 8% to avoid taking any damage.]

[With the bleeding effect activated, you will lose 4% of your health power every 2 minutes.]

[We recommend using one of our health potions!]

[Grim Draigh HP: 224/280]

As he loses his balance due to the monster's strength, his silky black hair is gently stroked back.

"Again?"

After the monsters launched two consecutive sneak attacks, they retreated into the bushes.

"I swore I'd never use an HP potion in this place. Those monsters aren't easy to deal with. Inventory!" He murmured, and then his inventory with a hundred capacity appeared right in front of his eyes.

He grabbed one of his health potions and drank the glittering red liquid inside the transparent tube right away.

Gulp! Gulp!

He swallowed the red liquid. Even though it had a rough texture, it was followed by a strong sweetness that suddenly burst inside his mouth.

"Wow... The texture is gross, but the flavor is strong."

His health power had returned to 100%. Then Yumiro threw the transparent tube at the bushes in an attempt to entice the monsters to leave. Nonetheless, they haven't yet to respond to it.

"Those monsters are intelligent, but do you think you can beat me with that kind of strategy?" Yumiro was upbeat, and he eventually drew his fighting stance, which would begin with bouncing.

"Just one sound... And I'll make sure it's their last." He murmured, his gaze fixed on the movement of each bush.

Swoosh!

Finally, the moment he had been waiting for had arrived, as his ears heard the screeching sound of the bushes. His eyelids widened, and he took a few steps back to enlarge the distance, so he could see where the monster would appear.

"Did you think I'd make the same mistake again?" Yumiro asked them in hushed tones, but if they responded, he would immediately log out.

When Yumiro saw those monsters, he leaped out of the high bushes with nowhere to go. He moved his right foot beneath the monster thread.

[Dual spinning kick!]

In every attack, his body involuntarily circulates at 360° before unleashing two massive hook kicks that shivered the monster's head.

Boom!

The dire wolves were launched into the air and quickly slapped the solid tree, knocking the monster unconscious.

However, it seemed that the monster on his right side was provoked by the adventurer's attack, as it revealed its precise location.

Argh!

Its face was much more aggressive than it had been previously, making it inevitable for the wolf to attack without thinking of a strategy.

It swung its claw around in mid-air, but Yumiro saw it as an easy target.

Tak!

He took a few steps forward and then came to a halt when he reached the appropriate distance. He quickly launched a jumping axe kick directly into the center of the wolf's head.

Yumiro sensed his left foot penetrating inside the monster's skull and slowly destroying it. However, due to Yumiro's strength, the monster's body quickly whacked to the ground.

Boom!

Yumiro gasped for air as he gazed at the monster's unconscious body, which was positioned on each side.

"I'm sorry to inform you, but today is my lucky day." Yumiro extracted the black rabbit keen claw from his inventory, which he had obtained way back in the rank-f forest.

"I hope your core consists of one item." Yumiro spoke softly while seizing the monster's core, which was located on the right side of their chest.

[You have received 176 experience from killing the Dire wolves!]

[Level up!]

[+ 1 to all attributes!]

[+ 4 free atrributes]

[Acquired skill>Jumping ax kick>: Dashes for 3 seconds, then uses momentum to deal +65 damage. Cost of fatigue: 9]

Yumiro stood up after closing all the tabs that flashed on the elevated screen and reminisced about Amiya's words since he leveled up.

"Amiya advised me to notify her once I reached level 20. But why is that?" He pondered as he was unfamiliar with the terms of boosting in this world.

"Be ready, Amiya, I'll bring you a lot of questions haha!" He didn't realize he was laughing until he was in the middle of the forest.

Ribbit!

Then someone caught Yumiro's attention, as he heard the new monster's rumbling noise.

Ribbit!

He looked around since he couldn't find the location of the monster's voice, which echoed throughout the forest.

Ribbit!

"What vexing noises! I must first slay the monsters before moving on to the others." Yumiro continued to walk around, but it appeared that the monster was unwilling to reveal itself.

Then he realized that when the monster began to howl, all the monsters in his area had vanished.

"Just one sound." He closed his eyes since he wanted to use his ears to find the monster's location.

Ribbit!

The monster approached again, but Yumiro had a lead this time: "The sound came from... behind those bushes!" He pointed his fingertip in the area and didn't waste any time carefully inspecting the monsters behind it.

He quickly sauntered, the howling sounds grew louder and louder as he approached the high bushes with thick vines.

"What exactly is this location? This is significantly darker than the other spot." But the dark place didn't make him flinch.

He tried swiping the bushes to get inside, but he couldn't move them even an inch. "This is the last resort!" Even though it was a risky idea, he crawled under the bushes, even if it was only a small gap, and pursued himself to enter inside.

He had dirt on his white shirt, but it didn't bother him as he was inside the VR game. In the real world, none of the dirt in his shirt would be transmitted.

The noises stopped as soon as he stood up. Only the blue light, which emitted a strong radiance, touched his whiskey eyes.

"A portal? I always see this in all isekai animes."

He walked over to get a better look at it. The portal then released a warm heat that he had never felt before.

"This portal is dangerous; I must leave immediately..." Yumiro spun around and didn't finish his sentence. The portal emitted an explosive radiance and sucked him inside.

"No!" "No!" "No!" Even though he grasped the portal on the surface, it continued to pull his body inside until half of them were already inside.

Swish!

The bushes in front of him moved, and he noticed an adventurer of a higher level than him. When she heard his voice, it appears that this blue-haired woman dashed to him.

"Please assist me! I'm not going to last long." Yumiro yelled in a hurried tone.

When the woman saw his deteriorating condition, she dashed over to Yumiro to assist him. She was too late, though, because the young man had already vanished before she could grasp his hands.

The woman was also taken aback by what happened to Yumiro, as she knew what kind of portal had sucked him in.

"In this forest, he was chosen by the boss, and he would not survive." The woman said this while covering his mouth with her hands.

Then she dashed to Adventure Capital to report the incident since a level 12 adventurer had been abducted by the dungeon. It was a bug, she reasoned, that the creators could fix in an instant.

[Jet rush!]

She used one of her buff skills, which increased her agility, to save the young man's life. Because if he dies once, he will never log in again.

She had already arrived at the Adventure Capital's main entrance in less than ten minutes. Then I noticed a bulky middle-aged man dressed like a Viking standing straight behind the pillar, looking up at the sky with a fainted expression.

"Why he loo..." the woman was also taken aback as she noticed a new notification sent to everyone in the blue skies.

A young man with silky black hair lay on the ground. "That's the man?" She stuttered when she realized it wasn't a bugged.

"I'm sorry I didn't save you!" she said as she knelt.
