The Adventurer System

Chapter 179 - Get Back

Carol was looking at the man who smiling while releasing the white smoke inside his mouth.

"Let's find him, Carol. We should invite him to our team. Although there are some flaws in his attack, I think we can improve him in no time." He snickered even there was a consequence on what he has done.

By knowing his attitude, Carol could there's a big reason behind it. She walked closer to him, then stood in front of him.

In her mind, the dark elf they were released was suitable for the level 40-50 adventurers. Also, it's quite obvious the only thing why Grim killed it's because of pure luck.

On top of that, the type of creature that they didn't release for a while. That means a lot of scouts and game analysis would talk about this.

"Sir Gin, Grim Draigh already killed the dark elf, and the news easily spread to all adventurers." She said in a polite tone.

"I'm aware of that, and I already said I'll take the responsibility for this. So for now, just look for Grim Draigh's address, then send him an invitation."

More likely, Gin was fully decided to recruit that man. To be part of the team he was creating.

Wealth and popularity could easily earn, but pure talent and outstanding skill were the important part of certain adventurers they needed.

"Sir Gin, that's an invasion of personal identity. It's a serious violation!" She explained to him as she was against with Gin's decision.

"4 months, that is the last time that I saw Blun. He gave me an important task, so I'll do everything to help him."

Moreover, Harley Blun the main creator of the Adventurer System he was talking about. Seemingly Gin accepted a confidential mission from him, not for the personal interest it was much further than that.

Carol deeply sighed, then eventually shook her head. "You're the most important person in this team, Sir Gin. We can't afford to lose you in just one mistake--"

Gin raised his arm and opened his palm. "Enough, Carol. No one could change my mind, just do what the exact thing I told you."

She blinking her eyes in confusion but admitted she couldn't do anything to stop this man.

"Yes, I'll do everything to help you, Sir Gin." She bowed her head and added. "I should take my leave, and I'll them about your request."

After she spits those words, Carol slowly leaves the place with a stolid expression on her face.

He raised his legs over his desk, then looked at the scene on the big screen. The place inside was covered by thick smoke along with a consecutive tremendous explosion.

"Grim Draigh... Your screen name is easily spread in the VR world. By seeing your movements and the skill you have, I think you deserved the attention that you've received right now."

He whistled while having perseverance eyes, thinking the best strategy on how he going to recruit this man.

...

On the other hand, all the adventurers received a new notification from the system. As the blue view screen appeared right before their eyes.

*Ding!*

[There were adventurers who killed the Dark elf inside the Barlane Dungeon!]

[Top raiders]

1. Grim Draigh +400 damage +130 support.

2. Hippie +400 damage +130 support.

Since Drymir died because of his foolish attack, the two adventurers received the same statics. That means both of them were declared as the top raiders.

All of them were dumbfounded at the viewscreen, as they couldn't believe what their eyes seeing right now.

A few were moments had passed, and finally, the announcement given by the system had already sink-in their minds.

!!!

"What the heck?! Dark elf? A high-level monster!"

"What is the system doing?! Why they are always giving the important mission to Grim Draigh! All of you are bias!"

"Hippe? Who is that? How lucky is that adventurer?"

Appealed to those adventurers were the only words you could hear in the VR world. Complaining since in a long time running this VR game none of them could receive a mission that could increase their popularity.

Or to be more simple, Grim Draigh has already been given 3 chances which help him to be well known in the VR world. The first one was when the time he fought the Green frog that was beyond his level at that time. The second when he solo completed the hidden quest inside the Lynx Dungeon. The third one was the current situation, they were the first adventurers who killed the Dark elf.

Also brought up the scene he did in the Draven sea, he defeated the adventurer who gained a lot of experience. Which helped him to have a life in the mid-tier.

...

Thud!

A young man received a hard slap on the back of his head and eventually, his face whacked to the ground.

It was Malik, a greedy man who had blue hair and narrow eyes.

"Damn it! What this is all about?" He lifted his head, seeing he was surrounded by two adventurers. It was Morga and Cricket that angrily looking at him after receiving the same notification.

Swish!

Morga used her keen knife to stab Malik's hand. "You're useless as a shit! Look what you've done? Supposedly we are the ones who must kill the Dark elf."

Click!

Cricket charged his gun and didn't hesitate to point it at Malik's temple. "I should blow your head from that start, you're just ruining this expedition." He said while planning to click the trigger.

Even though the knife pierced his hand, Malik raised it as he wanted to stop Cricket from his plan.

"H-Hey calm down! I'm just making decisions to avoiding the worst-case scenario! Y-You should not blame me!" He admitted the rumor he was said it was a lie. To didn't give his party members the benefit of a doubt.

The cleric in their party raid intervened with them, as she didn't want to see her party members would kill each other.

"Please, calm down! We can't resolve our problem here if we let your heat head make the decision." The Cleric said, then pulled the knife on Malik's hand along with the [Healing] spell.

The bleeding effect vanished, then Malik pushed himself into a stood-up position. "Thank you..." He turned to Morga and Cricket's side. "Killing me couldn't help you change the scene that happened here."

Boom!

A massive explosion transpired on the back of him, as Cricket gave him a warning shot. Also, to let him know his party wasn't easy to deal with.

"E-Eh? Are you out of your mind, Cricket?! What if I hit your attack, huh?" He complained at him in a high tone.

"That's just a warning shot, so if I didn't like what you're going to say right now. I'll make sure your head would be blown away." He warned him nonchalantly.

At this point, one idea popped inside Malik's mind. So he could make up for the mess he has done.

"Just calm down.." Malik pushed Cricket's hand downwards. "Don't point me your gun, let's have talked about it." He said in a polite tone.

Morga clicked her tongue, as Malik succeed to deceive Cricket in his words. "All of you are fool." She mumbled.

After 10 minutes of discussion, Malik's party decided to get back into the broken bridge. To find out, how Grim's party killed the dark elf.

"Raise your hand if someone is against with my decision." Malik's said in a high tone.

Luckily, none of them raised their hands as they agreed on Malik's plan.

Since the bridge was broken, they were using the surfboard that could help them to elevate in the mid-air.

"Hey, what if we'll see Grim Draigh said what you should do huh?" Cricket wondered.

"Don't worry, Cricket. As we can see Grim Draigh's party consists of two members, which means we're at the advantage." Malik pointing out all of them should fight Grim.

Cricket shook his head while glaring at him. "No, none of us would help you. I saw his video clip and I know I can't stand against him." As expected, he refused to help him.

Morga nodded as she agreed on what she heard. "Yeah, you're right. I also saw that video, Cricket. And I could tell his speed and strength are double than mine." She said while having a malicious smile on her face.

"It's just pure luck, everyone. Grim defeated Orlan because of their luck. There's no reason to be afraid of him." Malik worriedly said as all his plans were started to collapse.

"Luck or skill, my answer is still the same. I won't help you, on top of that, seeing his reaction I could tell he will kill you in no time." Cricket warned him and started to move.

"He just caught me off guard earlier, but if I know he was going to attack. I'm sure he will never any hit at me." He pretended.

"I hope you said those words to him earlier."
