The Adventurer System

Morga didn't anticipate by using Grim's ability, they could easily win the fight within the giant spider.

"We actually win?" She sharply sighed, then mumbled some words. "Now I know why Grim is popular in the VR world."

3 of them were looking at the consecutive explosion along with the thoughts that their expedition in this place wasn't ended yet.

Thud!

Everyone glimpsed on their ground and seeing Cricket fell to the ground. Somehow, Yumiro didn't worry about his condition since his HP was still 95%. 

Exhaustion from overusing his mana was the main cause why Cricket fell. That means they needed to give him mana potions to help him regenerate his mana power.

"Hehe, I'm sorry. This is what will happen if I push my limit." Cricket said along with an uncomfortable smile on his face.

Without consuming too much time in this place, Morga bestowed him two mana potions and the remaining mana he needed depended on him.

"Hais... Cricket, you look pathetic in your current situation. Here, you're lucky that I bought plenty of it." Morga mocked him.

"Thank you, Morga. Next time, I'll conserve my mana, and also, I'll buy an item that would help me." Cricket responded.

He was pointing out the item that could help him to regenerate his health mana. However, it will cost a lot of mana since that item wasn't easy to find.

The dark smoke was faded away, nevertheless, the spider's web remained in the place. Seemingly that tremendous explosion won't be enough to destroy the durability of the web.

5 minutes had easily passed, then as soon as Grim Draigh moved his feet. All of his party members were started following him.

"Hippie seizes the monster's core, and tell me if there's an interesting item," Yumiro ordered her nonchalantly.

Hippie nodded, "Yes, Grim. Leave this easy task to me."

Swish! Swish! Swish!

As expected, the spider still had tough durability. That pushed Hippie to use her knife for a couple of times.

"Phew! What a thick body." Hippie said while pulling the red crystal that had the same as the rugby ball.

"Woah... It's too big, this is the first time I can see a core like this." Morga was astonished.

In her mind, that kind of core could exchange for 10,000 gold coins. She was assured of that.

"Come over here, Grim. You should see this." Hippie called him while waving her hand, which means he needed to hurry.

"What is it?" Yumiro asked her.

On the ground, one piece of the puzzle had the image of a golden crown. Next to it, a spider's web that circulated on a wooden stick. It seemed this item would fit for making a new bow for the archer class.  

Morga and Cricket were looked happy, as they hoping they could open the place where the treasure room located.

*Ding!*

Then suddenly, everyone was paused in their place. After seeing the huge blue screen appeared over them.

"A system notification? For what?" He asked himself, he then saw a blank page on it.

No one had clue on this notification, until... A context occurred in the blue screen.

[System Update! Please, finish your expedition and quest in 24 hrs. If you fail to finish your task in the given time, all your progress possibly disappeared.]

The exact time was [1:00 PM], but the problem was they were still on the first chapter on the orange portal.

"Eh? Are you kidding me? A system update at this point?" Morga annoying complained.

By hearing words, Yumiro knew this woman had an idea that Morga has information about this.

Even though the System update was self-explanatory, however, Grim wanted to know the exact plot in this update.

"Can you tell me specifically?" He asked her in a low tone.

She slowly her nodded head as she discovered there was still an adventurer who doesn't know about the system update.

"Of course, leader Grim. But, what kind of information wanted you to know?" She looking at him with wondered eyes.

Yumiro rubbed his chin while mildly looking above. "All of them, I'll be honest I'm new in this game. So I want all the information you could give." He answered him.

Hearing those words, Grim answered all the questions that pierced Morga's mind.

"Is that so... Hmm..." By looking at her, you could tell that she was thinking the best information he could give.

"Okay, the system update where the moderator would give a new setting in this VR game. Example, event, shop, new items, and the game settings. By doing this, they could attract all the players to continue to play this game and recruit possible adventurers."

He narrowly raised his brows, knowing if this update will happen. He probably got backs to zero and having a hard to memorize all the functions.

"Oh, I see... Can you tell me what are the changes, once this update is implemented?"

At this juncture, his scrutiny was caught by this update. So he wanted to gather every piece of information that possibly help him in the future.

"This update is called the Adventurer 2.0, that's the only information I could give it to you. Since the moderators would like to hide it in the meantime and revealed it when the exact date."

The system would like to avoid the scene that certain adventurers would advance because it has already mastered the new update. Equality, that the precise words that the moderators wanted.

Yumiro sighed with disappointment, knowing he needed to focus on that changes tomorrow. "Okay, let's be quick." He said in a cold tone and added. "I know, there's no chance we could complete this expedition. But still, we should try because the item and exp are wasted."

Then suddenly, a gruff voice all over the place as moderators used their capabilities to officially give the new information.

[Attention all adventurers! The Adventurer 2.0 and new event will release tomorrow. Also, I'm warning you the changes made the game become more difficult. Continue to play this game and received valuable rewards! The true essence of the game!]

The place was enveloped by deafening silence, confused what the exact feeling they needed to put it in this type of situation. However, even though Grim was a newbie in this game, his chest was rapidly pumped because of the extreme excitement.

"Leave behind and step ahead to them, that's the two options that might happen if this update launched. However, I'll rise to the top and smack the adventurers would block my way."

Because of the excitement, Yumiro wasn't aware that he swiftly moved his legs. Which made for the 3 other adventurers to inevitably follow him.

In front of them, was too vague. If without the [Fiery sword] skill of Hippie no one could glance all over the place even Grim.

The rotten smell and wet surface become stronger and stronger as they were going deeper into the vast cave.

10 minutes had passed, 4 of them were standing in 3 different paths that probably headed into a different location. On top of that, Morga feel the mana was getting denser which made her shivered.

"Grim, I don't know if can still do this. The place becomes more perilous and also I don't have any weapon my two knives earlier were already wrecked." She explained along with a trembled tone.

Out of the blue, a green sharp was rapidly coming at him. So she stepped back and used the blade of her foot to stop it.

"Eh?" She quickly look at Grim as discovered that place was the origin of that sneak attack. "Grim, what is this all about? I did something wrong?"

Yumiro was also shocked and didn't expect he planned to stab Morga with a playing knife. "You hurt?"

"No, but what I did to attack me like that."

"Borrow that knife and give it back to me after this expedition," Yumiro said, then sauntered to the right path.

Morga doesn't have a chance to ask for more, so she just called Hippie to use her knife to find the weapon.

"Hippie, wait for a second. Please help me to find that weapon." She said with a weak tone.

Hippie heard her, she then pointed her knife to where Morga was. She saw the glistened eyes of her, but still, she could see the true face.

"Supposedly, that weapon should be here--" She stopped after seeing the knife that was lying on the ground was the precise knife that Hippie was using.

"Oh, Morga. You're lucky, Grim allowed you to use one of his best weapons." Hippie revealed her weapons and showed that knife was really expensive.

"I can see it... But don't tell me that knife you're using right now was coming from him." Morga wondered.

She nodded with a grin on her face. "Of course, I can't get this weapon. Also, it's expensive I can't afford it by my current wealth in this game."

"Eh, how rich Grim in this game?"

"You know, don't shock right now, you do still not see his two magical weapons," Hippie said and left.

"E-Eh? Grim Draigh where you got all of that?!"
