The Adventurer System

Chapter 49 - Combustion

Despite the fact that the two adventurers were surrounded by the other adventurers, they sneaked out of the small cave to track down Uzui's party. In Yumiro's mind, even if he kills them, he will not be sorry because they used to do that kind of work.

"My new skill easily outperforms them, but should I steal this skill from them? My screen name is exploding throughout the game, and if one of those adventurers sees me, a swarm of them will most likely rush at me. No, I should stick to my taekwondo techniques; aside from that, I have a rusty gauntlet here, which suffices." He mumbled, but Roshy noticed a serious expression on his face and quickly inquired as to what he was thinking.

"What are your plans, Grim? You're smiling for no apparent reason." Roshy muttered, knowing she wasn't in the right position to ask because she had offered herself as a slave.

"Don't mind me, it's not my concern. Right now, the only thing you can do is follow my orders."

"Is there a rule here?" She raised her voice and covered it because she knew Grim wouldn't like it.

Yumiro hummed and kneaded his chin. "And now you say it's okay to have rules with my slave."

Roshy deeply regretted saying those words, but eventually accepted them because that was the proper way to deal with a slave. In order to avoid conflict and betrayal. "Hais... I'll send you a notification, and please sign your rules here."

A new screen appeared in Yumiro's eyes, and he was taken aback by it while reading the context. "This is appropriate for our agreement."

[You will accept Roshy as your slave? Class: Swordsman Level: 16 Zexel: not giving specific information.]

[Yes]    [No]

He tapped the yes sign, then his eyes were drawn to another tab.

"It's unethical to ask her, Zexel; let her say it if she so desires." He murmured to himself as the new screen appeared, and he was thinking about what he needed to put inside.

[Agree with the slave, you can put up to ten rules, but please put rules that are appropriate for both the owner and the slave. There are no sexual rules or other restrictions.]

Roshy was terrified when she noticed Grim's malicious smile. "G-Grim, has it ever occurred to you to include sexual content?" Her words were stuttering.

Yumiro didn't reply to her question, just smirked at her and put the rules he wanted.

[Owner and the slave rules]

[1. Nobody contact unless it needed

2. The slave is always 1 meter far away from the owner, but if needed the slave can come closer.

3. Don't initiate a useless conversation.

4. Obey all the rules.

5 Don't betray the owner.]

[Checking the rules...]

On the screen, a rounded logo appeared and moved in a circular motion until it changed to a checkmark.

[Success! The system accepts the rules.]

"I'm not that type of person, so don't judge me," Yumiro said weakly.

"Grim, why didn't you include ten rules? You can't add another 5 if you've already signed it." Roshy said this as her eyes widened.

"Do you want anything else? That's all I asked for; if you're not satisfied, I can cancel our agreement." He entered the forest without knowing where they are going.

She mumbled to herself while secretly smiling. "He's soft on the inside, so why is he acting so tough?" She questioned herself, then flinched when she noticed Grim was walking in a different direction. "Where are you going, Grim? It's not the way to the tunnel."

Yumiro came to a halt and spun around, his face solemn. He raised his brows. "Where is the correct path? I thought you were in a rush?"

"Follow me, I'll show you where."

The two of them returned and entered the high bushes where Yumiro had seen Roshy pass out. The area was surrounded by spiky branches and plants; it wouldn't be good if a monster approached them in that position.

The main issue here was getting the Uzui party out of the Lynx dungeon while avoiding the recruiters.

After 30 minutes, it was already 9:00 PM in the real world, but Yumiro was confident that Amiya would not bother him because he had a valid reason.

"We're getting close, Grim, so get ready." Roshy spoke in hushed tones as he heard the monster's growl and the insect's cricket. Moonlight touched the wet surface where they were ambling.

"Don't worry about me; I'm always ready." Yumiro explained that he couldn't make any unnecessary noises that would attract the attention of the other adventurers by slowly pushing back the dried branches.

"It's only about 20 meters away. Although there is an adventurer nearby, I guarantee no one can see our presence here; simply follow me." Roshy was aware that she didn't want to make any mistakes, so the young man nearly died when they attempted to save Uzui's party from the Paraganda fish.

"Yeah, I have a lot more patience than you do; if we walk for a couple of hours, it's by me; my fatigue can't last long." He smirked in an attempt to impress the lady in front of him.

"I have no doubt about your fatigue; you're level 17, so your fatigue is the same as that of level 34 or 35 adventurers." Along with her, she sighed, feeling insecure around the man Zexel.

"You may have been informed by my Zexel, but that's fine as long as you didn't spread it to the others. Enough small talk; let's get to your request."

Roshy attempted to spit some words, but she retracted them because the owner had ordered it. Since this was the only thing she could do, she had no choice but to obey the orders and carry them out without complaint.

Another 5 minutes had passed, and Yumiro and Roshy had arrived at their destination without being noticed by the adventurers scattered throughout the forest.

"This is the location I'm referring to, Grim."

"A tunnel beneath the ground? What's the point of all of this?" With puzzled eyes, he inquired.

"I don't either, for reasons I can't explain. You'll find out once we get there."

Yumiro yanked open the wooden gate, which appeared to have been used to conceal the entrance. He noticed there were stairs, and the area was engulfed in darkness.

"Follow me, I'm much more convenient in this place," Roshy said as she went downstairs first. And Yumiro immediately followed as they might get separated in the dark.

He noticed the blonde woman come to a halt next to the wall and tug on something he had no idea what it was.

Thud!

He could only hear Roshy's footsteps and the enveloping sounds of a sea shell when placed next to your ears.

"What exactly is it?" He asked while grabbing a stick with a cloth wrapped around it.

"Wait a minute, I'll show you something new." Even though it was dark, Yumiro noticed Roshy's white teeth smirking confidently at him.

"What she's trying to do," Yumiro held the stick without hesitation.

"You know, Grim, it'd be unfair to you if you didn't know my Zexel, so I'll try to show it to you right now."

She rubbed his thumb and index finger together in a circular motion. She waited until there was a spark, then clicked his finger along with the skill name.

[Ignite!]

The unclassified cloth on the stick suddenly lights up, transforming it into a torch that allowed them to easily walk around the area.

"Wow, where did you learn your magical abilities?" He was astounded by Roshy's ability.

"It's my passive ability, Grim; every 10 seconds, I rub any part of my body where I can start a fire. My Zexel referred to combustion." Roshy stated.

"How do you then direct your fire at the target?"

"By using my eyes, it takes a lot of focus before I master it, but there's a downside with my fire because I can't burn any kind of monster right now, so I need an adjustment or, to put it simply, I should enroll in the academy."

"Academy, huh, let's keep going, finally, you have a useful skill." Yumiro took the lead of their expedition inside the tunnel after those words.

When he noticed an image on the concrete wall, he furrowed his brows to find out what it was. He moved closer to answer the question that had pierced his mind.

"What is it, Grim? That's just a regular image; there's nothing special about it." Roshy tried to stop him, claiming that it would waste their time because it contained hundreds of images.

Yumiro gently rubbed the concrete wall, and it appeared that those images had been carved by someone. "Hmm." His chin was pressed forward. And if you see images of creatures with sharp eyes, tell him about how those creatures lived peacefully a long time ago.

"No way, no how, it can't be? Celine's words are accurate?"
