The Alpha's Prisoner

Chapter 25 - 25: Mysterious Walk

On the next morning, Lucinda told Violet that she didn’t need to fulfill her duties as a servant.

She said something about Jack going out with some members and arriving late at night.

She found it really odd that he didn’t say anything on the previous day, but didn’t complain.

She would have a free day for the first time, although as a prisoner, she didn’t have much to do anyway.

But she had started painting some canvas and was getting really excited with the results.

Also, it would help take her mind out of the fact that she didn’t know how to behave in front of Jack while she was working for him.

On the previous day, she didn’t have much chance to care about that, because with all the party preparations, the whole house was a completely chaos.

Violet asked Lucinda to stay with her for a while during the morning, just talking.. They laughed a lot, and Violet was very grateful for the friendship she was building with her.

It was nice to have someone around that liked her for what she was, not what she represented.

But after lunch, Violet was left alone with her paintings.

She was so entertained that didn’t even realize when the sun started to set behind the mountains outside.

It was only when she heard a knock on the door that Violet lifted her eyes for the first time in hours.

One of the paintings was almost done, and the interruption kind of made her frustrated.

She got up and walked towards the door, but when she opened it, her eyes went from annoyed to scared immediately.

Morgana was standing in front of her, with some black and scary clothes and those purple eyes were piercing Violet’s soul.

“Good evening, Morgana. Can I help you?” She tried to sound the most polite and respectful possible. Violet really wanted the woman to trust her.

Or at least treat her nicely.

If that wasn’t too much to ask, which probably was.

“Come with me. And don’t ask questions.” Morgana stated very seriously, and turned her back to Violet, starting to walk away.

Violet was caught off guard again. Why did that woman like to do that? Talk and walk like Violet was a dog that had to follow her owner closely and obediently?

Violet clenched her teeth and closed the door, following Morgana one more time.

They took a while walking and turning on hallways, places that Violet didn’t know in the mansion.

She recognized some of the directions because it was close to where she had been trapped on the dungeon.

It was a very old part of the mansion, with a scary and cold aspect. The lights were very dim and there was almost no windows, if there was any at all.

It wasn’t a very pleasant place to be, specially not after seeing such a beautiful sunset.

Morgana passed by the dungeon and continued to walk, making Violet more anxious than before.

What were they doing at that isolated and dark place? Did Jack know they were there? Or better yet, did he ask Morgana to bring her there?

Violet remembered that he was going to talk to Morgana about the training, but since she didn’t hear anything about that again, she imagined that the plan hadn’t gone like he wished.

She didn’t ask though.

Morgana stopped in front of a door made of stone and pushed it forward.

But she didn’t touch the door. She just put her hand before it, and it opened by itself.

She was using magic in front of Violet. And that really caught her attention.

She had never seen a sorceress doing magic so closely. The one from the Diamond Pack was very mysterious and was always hiding inside her room.

Morgana entered the place and Violet followed her.

A lot of candles were lightened and there was all sort of books and vases made of glass over a table.

There was also a lot of flowers spread all over the room, a few trees in the corners, mistletoes on the ceiling, and a couch under a tiny window.

Although the atmosphere was of a terrifying place, Violet felt really warm there.

It didn’t have a spooky appearance. On the contrary, it seemed like it was a room inside a forest with a lot of trees and nature around.

Violet felt safe and at home, but she couldn’t tell why.

It was Morgana’s lair after all. How could she feel good inside that place?

And what did that woman want anyway?

When Violet opened her mouth to ask her, Morgana’ turned to face her, and Violet didn’t even have a chance to think about what happened.

An invisible electric wave came from Morgana’s hand and hit Violet on the chest, tossing the girl against the stone door.
