The Alpha's Prisoner

Chapter 26 - 26: A Different Practice

“What the hell are you doing?” Violet yelled as soon as she pulled herself together from the blow and got up.

What was Morgana thinking?

Did she bring Violet down there to kill her?

“Jack asked me to train you. He said something about you being a sorceress. I didn’t really believe him.” Morgana explained, getting closer to Violet again.

“And why do you need to hit me? I didn’t do anything. It was his idea.” Violet said retreating. Her back hit the door again, and she felt cornered.

“Well, this is my way of training you.. If you really are a sorceress, we need to provoke your powers, since you never used them before.” Morgana rolled her eyes, like she was stating the obvious.

“I’m pretty sure you can provoke them with another tactic.” Violet said against her teeth. She was doing her best not to fall for Morgana’s tricks.

She couldn’t lose her control again inside Jack’s mansion. She wouldn’t get a second chance.

“Yeah, I can. But I prefer this way. He didn’t say I needed to use your methods for this, so this is how we are going to work.” Morgana stated and raised her hand again.

Violet felt the same energy pulling her from the floor, towards Morgana.

She tried to look down, but her body was immobilized, like she was petrified.

Her eyes were able to see her legs floating a little above the floor, and she was being dragged in Morgana’s direction without walking.

Was that even possible? Could she do that too?

Violet almost laughed. That idea was getting into her head.

She couldn’t be a sorceress. That was one of the most insane ideas she had ever heard.

When Morgana was in front of her, Violet stared into her eyes, and only then she realized the purple iris was really bright, like it was shining.

“Let's see how long you can take it.” Morgana said and waved her hand, and Violet felt her body whirr and bump against the table.

The vases and books above it fell on the floor. A few candles were blown out when Violet flew above them.

“Are you really going to mess all your office just to provoke me?” Violet said with a teasing smile.

If Morgana wanted to provoke her, she would do the same.

Morgana curled her lips in disapproval.

“That’s one of the advantages of being a witch. I can just snap my fingers and everything will be in order.”

Violet got up again and looked at Morgana.

“Do you really need to do this or you just want to get back at me for trying to kill Jack?” she asked.

Morgana let out a very scary laugh.

“You know, if I could just get back at you because of that, you’d already be dead a long time ago.” Morgana said in a threaten way.

And Violet really believed her words. Morgana could be really scary when she was protecting Jack.

That made Violet think of something.

“Why are you so concerned about him? Do you love him or what? Are you mad at me because I’m his mate?” she asked curiously.

Morgana sneered.

“Come on, girl. I’m not that vain. If I wanted Jack, I’d probably have him at any time I wanted. But that’s not the case. And I’m not mad at you, I just don’t trust you, I don’t like you and don’t think you should stay here with so little supervision.”

Violet felt really embarrassed for that stupid question.

But the fact that Morgana said that she could have Jack whenever she wanted made Violet want to jump on her neck.

“Well, apparently this is not working. So maybe I should take it to the next level.” Morgana said, and Violet didn’t even have time to blink.

Her body levitated from the floor again and Morgana threw her against the wall, with much more strength this time.

Violet let out a moan when her ribs went against the cold wall. She could almost hear it breaking.

She felt with her knees and hands on the floor, in a very vulnerable position.

But Morgana didn’t feel pity at all. She did the same one, two, three times again.

Violet was infuriated. Her whole body was hurting and she could feel her inner wolf doing a lot of strength to fight against the sedatives.

They were injecting a bigger dosage into her after all.

Was she going to be able to shift before Morgana killed her?

Violet couldn’t take much more of that. She could feel the taste of blood inside her mouth and her stomach was hurting like hell.

“What are you waiting for, girl? Show me what you got!” Morgana screamed at her.

Violet started to tremble intensively, barely able to stand still.

She tried to get up but failed two times and gave up.

“What? Are you going to kill me if I don’t show you?”

“Don't be so dramatic. You can heal fast.” Morgana said impatiently.

“Well, I’m not exactly a wolf at the moment, am I? Or you forgot that I’m being drugged?” Violet yelled.

That seemed to make Morgana realize why it was taking more than she expected for Violet to show any sign of power whatsoever.

“Maybe a little psychologic torture then. What do you say?” she suggested with an evil smile.

Violet gulped.

She couldn’t trust herself for that. She was extremely emotional after all. And that was basically the key to wake her inner wolf.

Morgana’s smile widened as she saw Violet’s frightened face.

“Okay, that works for me.” she said, getting closer to Violet again.

Violet was still on the floor. Morgana approached her and squatted down, staring into her eyes.

It was a different glance though.

Morgana put her hands on her temples and didn’t blink.

And suddenly Violet started to have visions of things she was really afraid of.

All the nightmares she had on the last days, all the moments she felt scared after her parents died, and every single fear she had were now swirling inside her brain.

It was too much to handle.

She let out a scream so loud that her throat hurt.

She was in a fetus position, begging Morgana to stop.

But the woman didn’t.

And Violet decided to concentrate in her inner wolf. She had to wake up. She had to protect herself.

No drug should be able to prevent her from being her.

And then Violet started to feel a warmth growing inside her body, a force she had never felt before.

It wasn’t like she was losing control. It was something unique, natural, like everything was taking its place, where it belonged.

Did she always have that energy inside of her? She couldn’t remember.

And as she tried so hard to ignore the memories forcing their way inside her head, Violet stood on her feet.

But if Morgana was surprised, she didn’t show.

Her eyes were still shining and her hands were still on her temples.

Violet could feel her muscles shivering now. Her hands were closed tight in fists and all the blood running through her veins were on fire.

She focused on Morgana. What could she do to stop the woman from attacking her?

Violet closed her eyes to think.

It was extremely hard to do it. The images were getting stronger.

She could see her parents. They were playing with her in some park.

What was happening around them?

There was a lot of people, and they seemed afraid out of a sudden.

Were they being attacked?

Violet felt on the floor again and grabbed her head.

What was happening? Why did her parents seem so scared? What was all that noise?

Violet could see her baby form crying loudly, waiting for her mother to take her in her arms.

But the memory was too blurry and confused.

And then her mother felt on the ground, and her father right after, and Violet found herself alone and impotent.

That was the last straw.

With a hoarse roar, Violet got on her feet and lifted her hand, feeling a powerful force rising inside of her, and pointed her hand to Morgana, just as she did before.

And Violet saw the woman being thrown on the other side of the room.

Morgana looked at her with shocked eyes and got up from the floor straightening her clothes.

“Guess Jack was right. You really are a sorceress."
