The Alpha's Prisoner

Chapter 44 - 44: On The Opposite Side

“There she is!” the guard yelled at the others pointing at her.

Violet didn’t know who to look at first. Lance was closer to her than the others, but she couldn’t manage to fight all of them by herself.

Without time to think, she concentrated and tried to create a shield around her, but she wasn’t strong or focused enough.

She was too afraid to fight those men alone.

But she had to protect the bag first.

With that in mind, she levitated the bag and tossed it away over the wall, praying that it was protected on the other side.

“Go grab that bag, now!” one of the guards yelled..

She hadn’t seem before, but it was Phillip, the captain of the guards of the Diamond Pack; the responsible for killing Lance’s parents alongside Arden.

But the men that received his order seemed a little nervous, staring at him trying to confirm what they had heard.

“Sir, the bag is outside of the walls. If we go there without a good reason, there might be a retaliation in the future.” one of the men said.

“I don’t care! We need to get it back now. Go!”

Phillip was clearly mad and nervous. Obviously, he was afraid for his life, since the documents also incriminated him.

Lots of men crossed the gate, but Violet had to stop them no matter what.

Being free from the bag, Violet could now shift into her wolf form.

She would have more power to stop them and to protect herself.

Suddenly, a caramel wolf took her place, staring at the guards with angry eyes.

She roared at the men that had crossed the wall and ran after them.

“Stop her!” she heard Phillip shout behind her, but she didn’t stop to look.

She had to go after the others. They couldn’t find the bag.

And for her surprise, as she crossed the gate and started to walk between some trees, since there was a forest outside, Violet came across a very unexpected scene.

The guards were being attacked by other wolves that she had never seen before.

They were all fighting and the whole forest was a chaos, and she didn’t know if she should get into the fight or scan the place looking for the bag with the documents.

And then she saw him.

The wolf had the most dark black fur, and if it weren’t for his eyes, Violet would never know who he was.

But those grayish green eyes were the same, even in the wolf form.

Jack’s presence was too much for her to ignore or even pass unnoticed by her.

He has fighting against another wolf from the guard of the Diamond Pack. She knew this because, even in their wolf forms, they had a sort of imprint on their skin that gave it away.

Violet couldn’t even think of where to begin to search for the backpack.

And suddenly something hit her from behind.

She didn’t see who it was, but the impact was so strong and she was caught off guard, that her body flew miles away from where she was standing and bumped into a tree.

When she finally looked up and was able to see who it had been, Jack was already in the middle of a battle with the man.

It had been Phillip.

And he was also in his wolf form. Actually, now that she examined the place, she could only see werewolves fighting.

She scanned the place again to search for Lance, but he was nowhere to be seen.

Violet got up to help Jack, that seemed to be having a hard time with Phillip.

Violet looked around and saw a big tree by their side, but she was too afraid to try something against Phillip.

Jack was very close, and if she missed the blow, he could’ve been seriously hurt. She decided not to risk.

She ran towards them and hit Phillip from the side as he focused on Jack. The man was tossed miles away, falling behind the trees.

Violet looked at Jack, with her mind full of things to say to him. She was so happy to finally see him, but they didn’t have time to catch up.

Violet roared lowly at him, as a sign that she missed him, she loved him and that she was happy that he was there to help her.

Jack blinked at her and ran away, finding someone else to fight.

Violet decided to do the same.

She saw one of the guards bitting one of the member’s of the Rebels. He had his back to her, so she raised one of the tree’s roots from the ground and hit him with a lot of strength.

The man fell unconsciously immediately.

And then she saw Lance.

He was going after Jack.

And Violet’s heart almost stopped beating.

That was the moment she hoped it wouldn’t arrive. She didn’t want to fight Lance.

Why did he have to be so stubborn?

As her paws moved forward, one after the other, Violet felt sad for Lance.

She felt sad because he didn’t have the same chance as her to discover what Arden had done to their lives.

She knew how hard it would be for him to believe her, but as long as she lived, she would do everything she could to bring him to the light.

As they entered deeper into the woods, Violet roared at him, making the man stop chasing after Jack.

Lance turned to look at her, but she almost didn’t recognize him. His eyes seemed extremely angry.

And when he saw her, his expression changed.

She knew Lance so well, she had trained with him her whole life… She had learned to read his eyes as a wolf.

He wasn’t happy. And she could imagine how he was feeling.

He roared back at her, but it wasn’t a soft growl like hers. It was a very frustrated and sad one.

And when Violet thought he wouldn’t have the courage to attack her, when she thought that Lance would turn his back at her and continue to follow Jack, he took an impulse and jumped over her.

She only had time to form a shield around her, out of surprise.

It was almost an automatic response from her body.

Lance hit the invisible wall around her with a loud noise and fell on the floor.

Violet retreated as he got up.

He was clearly surprised, as he did not understand what happened.

But that only seemed to piss him even more.

However, as Violet prepared to protect herself, she saw a commotion rising, and turned her head slightly to look at it.

Lots of wolves were running after another one that looked like Jack.

But Violet didn’t have the chance to confirm that, because the only thing she felt was a very heavy bite on her neck.

The pain was so strong that she almost fainted.

And whoever was doing that to her, threw her away, making her head bump into a thick trunk.

And then everything turned black.
