The Basketball Court Swordsman

Chapter 19 - : It seems pretty cool

The game continued, the 6-point difference did not let the Celtics become depressed. Instead, they fought harder. After all, every game is a ladder for them to enter the NBA world. No matter who the opponent is, they can’t stop them from pursuing their jobs.

Hudson is physically strong, and Holiday has inherent disadvantages in this regard. Hudson simply and brutally went straight to the inside line and committed a foul by Holiday, so he was able to stand on the free throw line.

“Hey, Holiday, come here!” When Hudson made a free throw, Henson yelled at Holiday and beckoned.

Although Holiday doesn’t know who Henson is, after all, the leaders in training usually say Vogel and Posey. But he knows that as a rookie now, he has to listen to every coach. So when Henson waved his hand, Holledi ran over.

“Go up and tell Green, let him defend Hudson. You go to make up the second position, ask the second position to make up the third position, understand?” Henson hooked Holledi’s shoulder with one hand and leaned his head. Whispered in Holiday’s ear.

The on-site photographer discovered this unusual scene and gave Henson and Holiday a close-up.

Byrd saw this scene on his TV, and he took a sip of cigar with joy.

“What am I talking about? That guy is a genius.” Bird pointed at the TV and blinked at Richard.

“Frank, do you have anything else to add?” Henson turned to ask Frank again after he explained. Henson gave Frank a lot of face, and he has not forgotten that Frank Vogel is the head coach of this team.

“No, no more.” Frank didn’t react yet, just shaking his head. On the surface, Henson seemed to be just helping Frank with a message. But only Frank himself knew that everything that just happened had nothing to do with him.

After Hollodi played, he whispered a few words in Green’s ear. Green turned his head and glanced at Henson, and Henson gave the rookie an affirmative nod.

Henson can see that Green’s perimeter defensive ability is actually the strongest among everyone on the court, and his rating has reached B. It is not impossible to grow up in the future and reach A level. And B’s ability value is already very strong in the summer league. After all, most of them here are guys whose average level is between D and C.

It is not impossible to prevent Holiday from Hudson, but the efficiency is certainly not as high as Green. The Pacers need not only a victory, but also a hearty victory. Therefore, Henson decided not to give Hudson any chance.

“Frank, you can tell me if you want to explain it, and I will help you.” After Holiday got the ball up, Henson sat back beside Frank again.

Henson gave Frank Vogel great respect, even when he himself had done a very good job.

On the offensive end, Holiday’s big tie rod changed hands in the air to make the audience exclaim, but Henson was not surprised. The left and right hands are balanced, which is one of the reasons why he was optimistic about Holiday at the beginning. This kind of mid-air handover, Holiday has performed countless times during the uCLA period.

The offense relies on Holiday’s talent, and the Pacers don’t need to worry too much. As long as he doesn’t restrain Holiday’s hands and feet, he can solve the offensive problem by himself. And Henson asked Green to defend Hudson, the purpose is also to make Holiday more focus on the offensive end, completely liberating him!

Hudson had just passed the half-court possession and found something wrong with this attack. It was no longer the thin Hollodi who opened his arms horizontally in front of him, but the focused and strong Danny Green!

Hudson looks like he knows everything, breaking through, shooting, finishing off the basket, physical confrontation… But in the NBA, this kind of player has no foundation. Compared with “all-around”, NBA teams’ requirements for role players are actually more functional. It’s like Green who was also selected in the second round. He is not as versatile as Hudson, but he impressed Henson with only two points, three-pointers and defense!

Hudson called for cover as always, but Green vehemently bypassed it in advance, giving Hudson no chance at all. Holiday may still have some flaws in defensive pick-and-rolls, but as an experienced senior player, this simple pick-and-roll won’t bother him at all.

Hudson bypassed the screen and just wanted to accelerate, but Danny Green stepped into a gear and successfully stopped!

Hudson gritted his teeth. He didn’t expect Danny Green to be so difficult. Hudson thought Green was just a pure shooter at first.

Seeing that there was no breakthrough route, Hudson wanted to pass the ball to his teammates to handle it. But just as the ball was passed, a dark shadow suddenly rushed out and intercepted the basketball!

Hudson turned his head in surprise, only to see that the back with “11” written on the back was getting further and further away from him.

“Hudson’s intentions are too obvious. Holiday has played against him for so long, and he has mastered his offensive habits. I have to say that Holiday is really smart. During the game, he can always inject My own thinking.” Seeing Holledi steals, Henson smiled comfortedly on the bench. After all, Holiday is highly recommended by him. Bird originally wanted to choose Hansbrough, but it was because of Henson that he changed his mind.

So Holledi performed well, and Henson also had a bright face.

After Holiday quickly advanced to the frontcourt, he ended the fast break with a one-handed dunk. Although it looks a little thin, Holiday’s athletic ability is really good. For the dunk just now, it felt like Holledi had just finished it with just one leap.

After Henson explained to Holiday, there was an immediate change on the court. The point difference has been widened to 8 points, Bird’s expression is getting more and more proud, and Pritchard is getting more and more surprised.

Pritchard is more of a manager than a basketball player. Most basketball matters are in charge of Bird, while Pritchard handles other matters, such as business. Therefore, he is very curious, who doesn’t know much about coaching. How could a little scout be so comfortable in the coaching position.

“Think it’s incredible?” Bird smiled playfully, as if he had seen Pritchard’s mind.

“As far as I know, Henson has never received any training in basketball coaching. Before becoming a data analyst and scout, he was engaged in statistical work. But today… it’s not scientific! “Prichard spread his hands, even if he is a genius, Henson has adapted too quickly.

“It’s very scientific, man. What is the most important thing for a coach? Actually, it’s not about the tactics. Henson can memorize all those things in a week. But basketball is not a matter of talking on paper. It is useless to memorize tactics. This is Dennis. . The reason why Posey has been an assistant coach for more than ten years, but still can’t be his own. The most important thing for a coach is to be good at discovering and using players! This is what Henson is very good at. He knows what Hudson is good at. I also know what my players are good at. So just a simple change of defense makes the situation different. Have you ever heard of what tactics Popovich is good at? But I discovered and used Duncan, Parker and Gee correctly. Nobili, the Spurs have been strong for ten years, and will continue to be strong! Do you think D’Antoni is just running and bombing tactics? No, because he knows how to use Nash and Spurs better than anyone else. Tadmire!”

“So, you didn’t just let that kid ‘experience’.” Pritchard glanced at Bird, who didn’t answer, just giggled.

In the subsequent games, the Celtics never made any waves. After using Danny Green to limit Hudson, the number one offensive point, the Celtics’ offense was basically stopped.

For the Pacers, Holiday and Danny Green both showed their outstanding qualities. Although Holiday is a scoring point guard, he is also very happy to share the ball. Although Danny Green does not have such a strong singles ability, he is very accurate in the open three-pointer.

During this period, Henson was ordered by Frank Vogel to speak on the sidelines more than once. But he did not copy everything, but as an assistant coach, he also called out some of his own requirements for the game.

After four quarters of the game, 87 to 75, the Pacers won a gratifying victory by 12 points. Holiday has 25 points and 8 assists. Danny Green also scored 18 points. Most importantly, he made Hudson completely misfired in the second half and only scored 4 points with a 21% shooting rate.

After the game, Henson patted Holiday and Danny Green on the shoulders, “I know you two boys can handle everything. Now, go back to the shower and enjoy your victory!”

Seeing the players happily walking into the player channel, Henson also had a smile on his face.

“You know what Frank,” Henson turned his head and looked at his only friend in the coaching staff. “I think it’s cool to be a coach!”
