The CEO's Dark Wife

Lu Qian assistant rushed into his office as if he was being chased by someone. Lu Qian sat on his chair signing some papers when his assistant rushed in.

"What is the matter?...what is wrong with you?" Lu Qian asked.

"Sir..Madam was here.." the assistant answered trying to catch his breath. Lu Qian was a bit confused by his statement. His mother and Hua Ruo Lan were the only women in the Lu family and his mother is living with his father abroad which meant that his assistant was talking about Hua Ruo Lan.

"Ruo Lan... what is she doing here?" Lu Qian asked.

"Sir...I think she is one of the interns" his assistant answered. Lu Qian was taken aback. He thought she would be interning at her father's company.

"Where is she?"he asked.

"Sir..she left already" the assistant answered.

"OK..you can go"Lu Qian said as he dismissed his assistant. He stood up from his chair and stood by the window. He wondered why Hua Ruo Lan would choose to intern here. All her actions over the past few days were completely vague. He didn't know what she was thinking after all this could be a ploy to leave him and return to her lover. But why didn't she sign the divorce papers?.. why wait when she could just get it over with?. All these questions filled his head as his eyes turned red while his heart was filled with doubt.

Hua Ruo Lan went back to the Emerald Mansion. Spending so much time away from her son made her feel uncomfortable. All she wanted to do now was to play with him. She quickly changed her clothes and rushed into Lu Jin's room. Chang Ying sat on the chair with her son while holding a book.

"Oh...Madam I didn't see you" Chang Ying said as she dropped the book. Lu Jin came down from Chang Ying's l.a.p.s and ran to his mother.

"Give it to me I'll read it" Hua Ruo Lan said as she laid on Lu Jin's bed with her son and carefully placed his head on the pillow. Seeing how Hua Ruo Lan cared for Lu Jin made Chang Ying's eye teary. She saw how Hua Ruo Lan treated her son before, she didn't even know if he existed but now she wants to do everything for him. Chang Ying quietly left the mother and son to bond.

Hua Ruo Lan slowly opened her eyes.. she fell asleep after she read Lu Jin his book. She smiled when she saw Lu Jin playing with his toys. Lu Jin seemed to have noticed that his mother was awake so he planted a deep kiss on her cheeks. Hua Ruo Lan almost cried. She had such a gem of a son and she treated him so badly. Since she was awake and full of energy, it was play time.

Later in the evening around 6:30pm, Lu Qian came home. He went into the garden where he saw Hua Ruo Lan admiring the beautiful patches of roses. Her face showed extreme p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e as she looked at them. Lu Qian was a bit satisfied when he saw how happy she was but that suddenly changed when he saw the discomfort on her face. She had pricked her fingers in an attempt to pick a rose from the patch.

"Get the first aid kit" Lu Qian said to the servant who quickly brought the kit and gave it to him Lu Qian walked towards Hua Ruo Lan.

"Sit here" Lu Qian said as the both of them sat down on the bench. After applying the bandage, Lu Qian stroke her palms gently. Hua Ruo Lan looked at Lu Qian as he stroked her palm.

"Why didn't you sign the divorce papers?" Lu Qian asked as he looked at Hua Ruo Lan. Hua Ruo Lan was taken aback by this question. She didn't understand why he would ask her this kind of question.

"Why didn't you sign the papers?...Hua Ruo Lan...why are you doing this?" Lu Qian asked. Hua Ruo Lan looked deep into his eyes and saw that he was confused. She changed so drastically without him knowing anything so it was normal for him to be confused.

"I...I..." Hua Ruo Lan paused when her phone suddenly rang. She looked at her phone and her face turned cold. It was Mu Feng.
