The Devil's Sleeping Beauty

After unpacking their things, Xia Meilin had lunch with her son in the dining room.

When she had finished her food, she turned to Mo Jing. "We will be going out. If Mr. Lu will arrive and we're still not here yet, please tell him that I went to my studio."

"As you wish, madam." Mo Jing was respectful to Xia Meilin since she was Lu Yifeng's wife. "Will you be back before dinner though?"

Xia Meilin turned to Little Melon and gave it a thought, "Hmm. Yes, we will."

Soon after, Xia Meilin brought Little Melon to her own piano studio. Since her concert was coming close, she needed to prepare for it and practice while spending quality time with the important person in her life, Little Melon.

The studio was built by her brother and it just recently opened. There were a lot of parents who wanted her to be the piano teacher for their children but she declined. Little Melon was growing up, and her top priority was him.

Since she was also a composer, she mademusic and wrote songs for the singers who come to her, asking her to collaborate with them.

While she was practicing her pieces, her phone lit up as it rang.

Little Melon, who was playing with his toys on the floor, stood up and took the phone to his mother. "Momma, call."

Xia Meilin paused and turned to Little Melon, she patted his head before she took the phone from him.

She answered the call, "Hello?"

"Is this, Ms. Xia?" A man's voice was heard from the other line.

"Yes, I am. Who is this?"

"This is Xiong Fan."

She blinked a lot after hearing his name. Xiong Fan was a well-known singer who sang amazing country songs. From how the media pertained him, he was known to be an easygoing person. Since he called, she could already guess his reason for doing so. "Oh, Mr. Xiong, I never expected to get a call from you."

He chuckled lightly, "Really? Well... since I learned that you've arrived in Beijing, I am really excited to make this call. I am hoping if you can help me in making my new album?"

"Oh... that would actually depend on my schedule. You see, I have a preparing for my concert."

"It's okay, I'm actually planning to release a new album next year, by Spring. I just want to prepare early for it."

"Ah, I see. If that's the case then I don't mind. Hmm... I'll let you know when we can start. I will send you the address of my studio and we can work on your album." She said with a smile.

"Really?! Thank you! I can't wait to work together with you~"

"Mm. Same here." She looked at Little Melon who was staring at her intensely.

"Oh yeah, before I forget, I will be attending your concert next week. Good luck, Ms. Xia!"

"Thank you, Mr. Xiong." Xia Meilin wasn't the type to talk a lot with people she was not close with that's why her answers were short and polite.

When the call ended, Little Melon, who was holding a car pointed it to her. "That wasn't Dada."

"He's not." She placed her phone aside, "He is mommy's client."

"But he's a man!" He pouted cutely.

Xia Meilin blinked a lot, "Uh... yes he is?"

"Except for dada and Mello, other men is no-no for momma," he huffed before he crossed his arms.

She chuckled softly, finding him adorable. She didn't take his words seriously that was why she ignored it. She scooped him up and made him sit beside her instead, before she faced the piano. "Let's play together."

"Other men is no-no, okay?" Little Melon continued staring up to her.

"Fine, fine, whatever my baby says." She smiled and patted his head.

Thinking that he convinced his mother, Little Melon faced the piano as well. He placed the car he was holding on his lap before he pressed one key then another.

By the time they went out of her studio, a black Rolls Royce was waiting outside of the building. Xia Meilin recognized the car in an instant. It was Lu Yifeng's car.

Su Lei went out of the passenger's seat before he opened the back door for them.

Inside the car, she could see Lu Yifeng sitting like a king.

He was already out of the hospital? This man was so reckless! Didn't he know that those wounds in his body won't heal so easily? Aside from that the doctor told her last night that his broken ribs were still recovering so he should really rest his body for him to recover fast.

Little Melon went running towards the car but Xia Meilin quickly followed and stopped Little Melon in time. She knew that the little boy was going to jump and give Lu Yifeng a hug and she wanted to prevent that from happening.

Little Melon turned to Xia Meilin who was holding his arm in confusion. "Momma?"

"It's dangerous to go running around like that." She reasoned out.

Little Melon pouted and looked at his father, it was clearly seen in his eyes that he was yearning for a hug.

"Come." Lu Yifeng's deep voice was heard.
