The Devil's Sleeping Beauty

Xia Meilin glared at Lu Yifeng. Couldn't he be more careful? Was he a masochist? She shuddered at the thought.

She didn't allow Little Melon to go and hug him. Instead, she went in and sat between Lu Yifeng and Little Melon.

"Mommmaaaa!" Little Melon was pouting. He wanted to go and hug his father but since Xia Meilin was in between them, he could only cross his arms and sulk.

Xia Meilin sighed inwardly. She could only wonder how Little Melon became so attached to Lu Yifeng. They just knew each other for four days!

She heard a soft chuckle coming from Lu Yifeng and this made her turned to him with the same glare she gave him earlier. "If you keep on being like this, you won't heal. You should go back to the hospital!"

Su Lei nodded his head quietly when he heard Xia Meilin's words. He told his master the same thing earlier but Lu Yifeng didn't listen that was why he was hoping that he would listen to her.

"I will rest at home." He said with a smile as he saw Xia Meilin acting this way towards him, it made him happy like a child who got noticed by his crush.

"Is dada sick?" Little Melon stared to his father.

"Yes, he is."

"I'm not."

They said at the same time.

Xia Meilin and Lu Yifeng looked at each other and once again, she glared daggers at him while his lips curled up into a subtle smile.

Little Melon was confused, he didn't know who to believe in.

"I'm just following what my doctor said so don't blame me." Lu Yifeng said with a soft voice. "He said that I lack Vitamin U so I need to go home."

Vitamin U? What's vitamin U?

When she came into realization, her face started heating up as she stared at him, she quickly avoided his gaze since she suddenly felt embarrassed. "I-I don't think your doctor is in the right mind."

"Really?" Lu Yifeng turned to Su Lei who was sitting in the passenger's seat. "Didn't you get the best doctor for me?"

Su Lei inwardly cried, 'Master, please don't include me in this.'

But in the end, he couldn't defy his master so he went along with him. "Y-yes... the best doctor..."

From then on, Xia Meilin was quiet and didn't argue with him anymore, she decided to ignore him.

Arriving in their place, Lu Yifeng went to his room while Xia Meilin went to Little Melon's room and helped him change his clothes.

Since it was almost time for dinner, they went to the dining room to eat.

"I haven't seen your parents. Won't they be coming home tonight?" Xia Meilin finally spoke up.

"They're living in Guangzhou. The Lu family's main house is there." He simply said before he continued eating.

She inwardly sighed in relief. Xia Meilin was actually nervous when she thought about meeting his parents since she didn't know anything about them.

"Don't worry, you'll meet them soon."

If she would be meeting them soon, how could she not be worried?! Was he intentionally saying this to give her a heart attack?

Xia Meilin could only quietly send daggers to Lu Yifeng before she continued eating.

After their dinner, Lu Yifeng took Little Melon for a walk in the garden while Xia Meilin went to practice her pieces in the music room. She was strict with herself whenever she practiced her piano skills that's why she was able to receive the achievements she gained.

When she realized that it was almost her son's bedtime, she went out of the music room. She looked around for him but she didn't saw him. Since she was still wary about Lu Yifeng, she got worried when she couldn'find her son anywhere. She went to a maid and anxiously asked her, "Have you seen, Xiao Gua?"

"Yes, madam. The young master is in master's room right now." The maid said politely.

"Oh... thank you." Xia Meilin turned and climbed the stairs slowly.

He was at his room?

She was hesitant about going to Lu Yifeng's room but since Little Melon is there, everything would be fine, right?

Xia Meilin was now standing in front of Lu Yifeng's room. She breathed in and out, gathering up her courage and preparing herself to face Lu Yifeng before she knocked.

"Come in." Lu Yifeng's voice was heard from the other side.

She opened the door and peeked inside. Lu Yifeng's room has a black and white theme in it and it was bigger than her room, it was neat and clean and the stuff inside were few.

"Momma?"

When she turned her head, she saw Little Melon hugging his cat plushy while he was lying down beside Lu Yifeng.

Lu Yifeng was sitting down, holding a book. "Is there something you need?"

The scene she witnessed surprised her since she was expecting for a messy scene where Little Melon was crying and where Lu Yifeng was scolding him. For some reason, a small tingling warmth started growing in her chest when she saw Little Melon smiling happily with his father.

"It's time for Xiao Gua to go back to his room and sleep," said Xia Meilin while she tried to calm her racing heart.

Little Melon pouted, "Mello will sleep with dada tonight. Come momma!" He let out a grin while patting the space on his other side. "Mello wants to sleep with momma, too!"

"..." Xia Meilin stared blankly at them.

Little Melon looked fine and it didn't seem like Lu Yifeng was going to hurt him. Aside from that, she could clearly see how Lu Yifeng cared for Little Melon.

Without saying a word, she took a step back and closed the door, as if she didn't hear what Little Melon just said. She walked back to her room and shut the door.

No, she would never sleep in the same room as Lu Yifeng even if Little Melon was there!

Huhu! How could Little Melon betray her and replace her with Lu Yifeng?!

She already allowed him to steal her freedom and yet, Lu Yifeng was also stealing her son's attention! She would definitely not let him have it all!
