14. Signing the Contract with a Chicken

Half an hour ago, the boy had been sent out of the Desire Sea by King of the Netherworld.

In the meantime, a high-level Demon Beast egg in the Heaven Peak Palace seemed to have sensed the breath of King of the Netherworld and rolled down suddenly from the table of worship to the place where the boy had fallen. After the boy had pressed the egg with his butt, the egg broke open and a Flying Chicken impressed the world with its birth…

King of the Netherworld only glanced at him and said without turning around his head, “You have hatched the kitchen.”

After half an hour, the boy recovered from the fact that he had hatched a chicken.

After making a huge mess, the boy finally caught the flying chicken which was flying around with the “help” of Fire Phoenix. Then he rushed to King of the Netherworld excitedly, preparing to toast the whole chicken.

However, before he could light a fire, King of the Netherworld stopped him right away. The King spoke in a voice as indifferent as the cool breeze which came from nowhere.

“The normal fire is not able to burn it. The Flying Chicken is a high-level Demon Beast of the first grade. It won’t be harmed by any kind of fire except for the True Fire of the Soul. Though Flying Chicken is in a low grade, it is good at speed. After you sign a contract with it, you can ride on it to flee if you run into any trouble.”

“Huh?” Clearly the boy did not fully understand what King of the Netherworld had said. However, he clearly heard the word ‘flee’.

Although he really doubted if this creature which looked exactly like a normal chicken would have a fast speed, he still chose to trust the King’s words without any reason. The boy had a feeling that the King would do him no harm, so he stopped thinking too much. However…

“It looks so ugly. Don’t you have some pets which look more imposing? Like White Tiger?”

No one could blame the boy for despising the chicken because that was truly an ugly creature. The boy still felt that the best result for the chicken was being toasted. As for keeping the Flying Chicken as a pet, he really needed to have second thoughts.

Hearing the word ‘pet’, King of the Netherworld raised his eyebrows slightly. Then he answered quickly, “White Tiger is a Sacred Beast. The creatures which were equally famous as the White Tiger were the Green Dragon, the Rose Finch and the Black Tortoise. These four creatures were Totem Sacred Beasts but not in the highest grade, because they were still inferior to the Super Mythical Beast like the Five Claw Golden Dragon or the Phoenix Kylin. As a matter of fact, the Super Mythical Beast also had an awe-inspiring reputation in the Three Worlds as the Four Sacred Beast. However, they seemed to have existed long ago. Now it was already very hard to see any Super Mythical Beast.

Since King of the Netherworld promised that he would find a beast which was more powerful than the White Tiger for the boy, he must mean the Super Mythical Beasts.

Others might not dare to make a promise like that, but King of the Netherworld was the most likely person to be able to do that.

The boy saw the man nodding and then said reluctantly, “Fine, I’ll take this chicken for the moment!”

As a high-level Demon Beast, the Flying Chicken had already suffered a heavy blow from the boy. So it recognized the boy as its master without any resistance under the guidance of King of the Netherworld.

However, King of the Netherworld abruptly raised the Chicken’s grade from the first to the ninth, afraid that the Flying Chicken wouldn’t be helpful in the critical moment. Right now, the Flying Chicken was one step away from becoming a Sacred Beast. The next level was Mythical Beast. Nevertheless, according to the Chicken’s intelligence, it might be very hard for it to become a Mythical Beast.
