95. The Situation in the Ghost World

There were eighteen floors of the Red Lotus hell. On each floor were locked up different guilty spirits which had to go through different torture.

Because of the great sins those Black Spirits had committed, they were locked up on the sixteenth floor. This time Wolf Fang attached great importance to the high-level spirit escaping incident. It was not only because of the intervention of the secret force, but also because those Black Spirits were once Powerful Demons that had fallen into evil ways in their previous life.

They had cultivated a wicked art before they died, which could help them turn the human blood and flesh that they had absorbed into their own energy. What was more, once those spirits absorbed the flesh and blood of a thousand experts in the God King realm and then employed a secret art, they would be able to get rid of their spirit form and have real bodies. The spies Wolf Fang had sent out before passed a message today, which said that lots of the disciples of different sects in the northern area of the God and Demons Kingdom had gone missing lately and most of them were in the God King realm.

The warden of each floor of the hell had a prison card, which was the symbol of their identity and also enabled them to have access to most of the forbidden areas. If one wanted to pass the gate which was guarded by the Hell Beasts, he would have to produce the Prison Card. Because of that, Wolf Fang got suspicious of the wardens right away. Then, he found out that Yang Qian had helped the White Spirit break the barrier of the sixteenth floor of the hell.

The barriers could lock up the Black Spirits, but a White Spirit with a pure soul would be able to pass all the barriers easily.

That was why the barriers of the sixteenth floor had been destroyed and the ten Black Spirits had escaped.

That was not an accident. The one who was behind all of this had spent three hundred years training a White Spirit, which meant this was a well-designed plan. Perhaps on the day when the rebellion in the Ghost World happened one month ago, the one had already started to implement the plan.

“Did anything else happen in the Ghost World this month?” The King pondered for a while and asked.

“No.” Wolf Fang answered that with his face suddenly turning sullen.

“I see. Deploy more manpower to guard the Ghost World. I’ll send someone to deal with the ten Black Spirits which have escaped to the God and Demon Kingdom. You should go back right now. Do not leave the Ghost World unattended for too long.” The King said that with a meaningful look in his charming eyes.

Hearing the King’s words, Wolf Fang knew that he could finally stop dealing with the Black Spirits. Then he let out a sigh of relief secretly.

The God and Demon Kingdom was too far from the Ghost World. Even if Wolf Fang intended to handle the affair, he was not able to since he couldn’t search the area out of the Ghost World so randomly. What was more, the forces in the God and Demon Kingdom were rather complicated. In certain areas where existed the deep divisions, even the strangers would fight one another on the road if they found each other unpleasant to the eye. Although the Spirit Catchers were powerful, Wolf Fang still found it was not worth letting them get injured.

After Wolf Fang left, the Palace turned quiet again.

The King sat there with the boy still in his arms for a while. Suddenly he rubbed the boy’s nose and chuckled, “How long are you planning to pretend? If you still don’t’ wake up, how about letting you sleep for a few nights?”

Hearing that, the boy who was in a ‘sound sleep’ suddenly opened his eyes. Then he saw the joking look in the King’s eyes. After that, the boy climbed up bashfully while muttering, “I wasn’t pretending at all, just happened to wake up in the middle of your conversation. You two were discussing something at that time, I don’t want to interrupt. That’s not called pretending, more like closing my eyes and resting my mind.

“I think you have already finished dealing with the information in your mind. Will you touch everything so randomly next time?” The King ignored Feng Xi’s quibbling and asked that in a low voice which seemed somewhat threatening.

The boy trembled right away. As he remembered how painful it had been when his soul was beaten, a fearful look crossed his eyes and he couldn’t stop shaking his head, “I won’t do that ever again. I’ll never do that again. I would rather die than experience that kind of pain again. That almost killed me!”

After he paused for a second, he remembered the information in his head again. He, driven by his curiosity, lay on the King’s chest and said,

“My leader, the thing you two have talked about, is it true? Some Black Spirits escaped to the God and Demon Kingdom? Is there anything funny going to happen? The hell which has eighteen floors sounds interesting. The sixteenth floor is the place where the Black Spirits are locked up, what about the other floors? Are there spirits in other colors? Did they all commit crimes? Well, can I…”

“No!” The King knew exactly what the boy was thinking and refused the boy’s request before the latter spoke it out.

“I haven’t said it yet. What’s the rush in refusing? Perhaps you’ll agree with me when I finish my words.” Feng Xi still didn’t give up with a fawning smile, trying to change the King’s mind.

The King rubbed Feng Xi’s head with a glimmer of a smile in his obsidian-like eyes and approached the latter, “I know everything in your head.”

“Then tell me what I am thinking right now?” Feng Xi raised his head, still trying to hang in there.

Right now, the smile on the boy’s face seemed quite awkward because his thought had been completely exposed.

Feng Xi looked away shyly with redness on his face, “Fine, I’ll trust you this time.”
